George Jones University Is Not in Session

George JonesCanceled. It's a word we oughta get used to hearing in this economy. Crappy ticket sales have forced the cancellations of plenty of recent concerts. But now, even the music education end of things is starting to suffer. George Jones University had to shut down its March session and start refunding the $400 tuition to students. And this was a very comprehensive session, covering everything from country music's history to life on the road and the politics of Music Row. The school isn't closed for good, but because they need cash to fund the program, now's just not a good time for the volunteers who run things. "We did six of them and loved every one of them," says Tandy Rice, the school's dean. "It was going great, but then the bottom fell out of the world."

What a shame. Thats one class that I think every would be artist would have loved to have taken. Hope they all hang in there and wait till the economy gets going again.
