Marty Stuart's Book Looks Inside the Family of Country Music
Marty Stuart has been taking photos of the world of country music since he was 12. His new book, Country Music: The Masters, includes some of the ones that he holds most precious. Like the one of Johnny Cash that graces the cover. Titled "Last Portrait, September 8, 2003," it was taken just four days before Cash's passing. Or the first photograph he ever took, which amazingly turned out to be of his future wife, Connie Smith. Listening to Stuart tell the story of that photo is like a hearing a real-life fairy tale. I can only imagine the stories that the rest of the book will tell.

What’s wrong with Marty’s clothes? Atleast he knows how to dress unlike Brad Paisley or Kenny Chesney.
countryiscool says:
Well, I guess THIS jkt IS a little more sedate than his usual fare of glittery-type Vegas outfits. I expect that from little Jimmy Dickens, but Marty can afford to be more suave. btw, I think LJD is cute so I’m not knocking him personally, ok?
King says:
Jimmy Dickens knows how to dress. So did Porter. So does Dwight Yoakam. So did Marty Robbins. So does Dale Watson. So does Marty.
countryiscool says:
Yeah, all glittery like Vegas.
Linda says:
I think Kenny and Brad look just fine in their jeans, thank you very much.
countryiscool says:
Me too Linda :o)

Marty Stuart is one of the most talented men in country music.
As for his dress — well, its part of show business, part of the act. Country music is just that - show business - and Stuart, Yoakam, Robbins and the like are excellent showmen. Its part of their gimmick and it works well for them. I trust that they are all smart enough to know that their attire is, to some degree, a joke, and they probably embrace it. They know its not what “real” people could wear.
Maybe that’s one reason we should be glad we have entertainers. Entertainers create fantasies for us and that can be quite valuable. The outlandish clothing is just part of the act.
I see no problem with Marty Stuart dressing this way, although such attire wouldn’t be appropriate for a business lunch.
In any case, Stuart is an amazing musician, a decent singer, a great showman, a great songwriter,a fine artist and above all an amazing entertainer.
