Nashville Gets Success Story With Taylor Swift's No. 1 Debut
If the country music industry was looking for a major success story for the final quarter of 2008, Taylor Swift provided it when her new album, Fearless, sold 592,000 copies during its first week out to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the chart that tracks sales of all styles of music. That means she's simultaneously topping Billboard's country albums chart, although that happens routinely with titles that sell far less than 100,000 copies in a week. There's a lot of competition among country record labels, but the entire Nashville music community really loves it when a country artist debuts atop the Billboard 200. That's a bragging right that can be claimed by only a select few, and its worth noting that Fearless sold more copies than the combined numbers for the new CDs debuting in the second, third and fourth slots. Those include the new projects from American Idol's David Archuleta and R&B artist T-Pain. No doubt, the people at Swift's label, Big Machine Records, were expecting a big week, but nobody's likely to say how accurate their projections might have been. After thinking about it, let us know if Swift's initial sales exceeded your expectations? Or was it lower than you imagined?

RedMaZ says:
I find it hard to believe Billboard tracks all styles of music.
RedMaZ says:
A marketing genius can make anything happen in the world of Pop Culture.
Rick says:
What I want to know is where all these pre-tweens, tweens, and teens are getting the money to purchase Taylor’s latest pop-culture commercial triumph? Allowances must have gone up since I would get 50 cents a week back in the early 60’s….
Seriously, it was brilliant of Taylor to become a teenie-pop cultural icon where its more about personality and image than the music itself. The comparison to Avril Lavigne is spot on and I might include the early Britney Spears to that list. This is not to say Taylor isn’t talented, because she is, but does the quality of her music justify her fan’s devotion and these huge sale numbers? I think not….
dj says:
You don’t have to have much money when you could download it for $3.99
barbara baer says:
you have got to be kidding i dont believe
she sold all those albums in one week
unless she bought a lot of them her self.
her performance at the cma in my opion was
terrible she has no talent in singing country
music she knows it and i know it she needs to
go over to pop that is where she belongs to
me she cant sing…..her video love story is
like enchanted why do you think disney picked
carrie to sing the song and not taylor
gloria says:
It’s so depressing to see what sales this day and time. The girl just came on the seen and already she’s the “savior” of country music! YUK! I’m so glad I grew up in a different era.
Mary says:
yeah both carrie and rascal flatts sold around that number their first week as well and debuted at #1 on country and all genre album charts too.
Melissa says:
I heard from mulitple sources that Fearless had been certified gold after the 2nd day, so I expected it to sell around 700,000. But I heard the official number was 721,350 including full album digital downloads, so that’s AWESOME. Congratulations Taylor!
Who cares if people who like pop music also like her music? It just means it appeals to more people.
RedMaZ says:
barbara baer, what you need to realize is that Pop Music is not a specific genre, it’s an industry consisting of many genres. Taylor Swift has always been a Pop act. It just so happens to be Pop Country.
EminemFan says:
There’s a reason why it sells so well. Its the best country, or pop for matter(not really if you listen to it) album to come out. I do not see what everyone is complaining about. Is it that she writes her own songs unlike most country musicians or that shes 18 and has more talent than any other act in country. Also, she is the opposite of commercial. You don’t see her out on the town or in all these tabloid stories. Trust me , she is here to stay so why all the haters? She writes what she feels, and for that I applaud her. Others in the industry just buy songs from songwriters, whats hte point in that?
RedMaZ says:
Almost everyone I listen to writes their own music. Country and otherwise.
I DO have a question about Taylor Swifts songwriting. If anyone could help me with that.
Courtney says:
EminemFan, I’ll agree with you that she does have talent. I am a fan of hers and do enjoy her songwriting, although it doesn’t exactly sound ‘country’ to me. But to say that she has more talent than any other act in country is a bit over the top. She sings, writes her own songs, and plays guitar. Perhaps you should look at Miranda Lambert, who has a far stronger voice than Taylor and also writes her own songs and plays the guitar. What about Dolly Parton. Have you seen how many instruments she can play? And she also is a strong songwriter. And believe it or not, those are not the only country artists who write their own songs. Now maybe you’re just trying to defend Taylor, but perhaps next time you should not try to write your opinions off as facts.
Courtney says:
RedMaz, what’s your question? I might be willing to help you out.
RedMaZ says:
Thanks Courtney. I was looking at the SESAC awards list for this year, because many Americana artist are featured, but I noticed that a couple awards were won by Liz Rose for writing Picture To Burn (performed by taylor Swift) and Teardrops on My Guitar - written by Liz Rose (performed by Taylor Swift). I was under the impression Swift wrote these song, but acording to SESAC she’s not even listed as the co-writer. They clearly state…Written by Liz Rose. I’m wondering if you know about this or can explain it?
Wendy says:
Well, with all the promotion and gimmicks that have been used from the 3.99 downloads, buy a CD and win a trip to any concert, buy a CD and win an autographed guitar, etc. I’m surprised she didn’t sell more. I would bet 3/4 of these sales were not by country music fans. So I’m not impressed at all!
Kate says:
Congratulations to Taylor. I have one question. Why is ‘Fearless’ listed as a country album? Most reviews I’ve read call it ‘pop’. I mean, I can see why Taylor and her team would prefer to have it listed as ‘country’, but seriously just about every review I’ve read are calling it ‘pop’. My ears tell me it’s ‘pop’. Did you hear ‘Love Story’? If that’s not pop I don’t know what it? So why isn’t it charting on the ‘pop’chart? Who decides this?
Please RedMaz, don’t jump in here with your theory on this because I’ve got my own theory, I just would like someone who knows answer my question.
Kate says:
I forgot to congratulate the marketing team behind Taylor Swift…they are the real heros here. Job well done guys.
RedMaZ says:
It’s not my theory. You’re giving me way too much credit. Do the research. That leads me to believe you already know the answer ;)
taylor sweft #1 fan says:
[kate] you go girl you rock
luvncountry says:
RedMaz, I looked up some of Taylor’s songs, the 2 you specifically mentioned. “Teardrops” DOES have Liz Rose listed as writer, but on “Picture,” BOTH she & Taylor get credit. I was also under the impression that Taylor wrote them, but I know in interviews she has spoken of co-writers.
This info was on the CMT site under Discography.
taylor sweft #1 fan says:
[redmaZ] you got a job to do so you should do your good job ok boy or girl whatever you are
taylor sweft #1 fan says:
gosh i have not been on this cmt blog for a while people
taylor sweft #1 fan says:
alright guys am geting out of here untill tomarow good bye
RedMaZ says:
That’s strange then, it only says Liz Rose as the writer of both, and the song Tim McGraw too. Considering what SESAC is about, it doesn’t stand to reason to leave a songwriter or co-writer out of the credits. Doen’t make any sense. Unless Swift had to come clean and admit she is not the songwriter everyone thinks she is. The people defending her are always quick to express her songwriting prowess. Maybe it’s not so true?
Courtney says:
RedMaZ, that’s strange that they wouldn’t have listed Taylor Swift as the co-writer. I have read many places, and have heard Taylor say, that she (Taylor) has written or co-written every song on the album. Maybe they just forgot? I’m not really sure, but as far as I know from what I’ve read and heard, she has at least co-written every song. I’m not sure if this answers your question or not, but it’s just what I’ve heard and read.
RedMaZ says:
SESAC forgot to credit a songwriter? You know what SESAC is don’t you?
Taylor says:
Courtney, Taylor Swift publishes her songs through BMI, another publishing firm in Nashville. Liz Rose uses SESAC. So at the SESAC Awards, only Liz won. At the BMI Awards, where Taylor Swift won Song of the Year for “Teardrops on My Guitar,” which Liz and Taylor co-wrote, only Taylor won. It all has to do with the publishing firm. Taylor definitely co-wrote the songs, though. I hope that helps :]
luvncountry says:
RedMaz, here’s the cut-and paste for ya…
Song Name: Picture to Burn
Artist Name: Taylor Swift
Album: Taylor Swift
Songwriter(s): Liz Rose, Taylor Alison Swift
Release Date: October 10, 2006
Label: Big Machine
Song Name: Teardrops on My Guitar
Artist Name: Taylor Swift
Album: Taylor Swift
Songwriter(s): Liz Rose, Taylor Alison Swift
Release Date: October 10, 2006
Label: Big Machine
Taylor gets solo credit for “Our Song” and both she and Liz get credit for “Tim McGraw.” That’s all I’ve found so far.
Courtney says:
RedMaZ, I am aware of what SESAC is, and I didn’t mean to discredit them by saying that maybe they forgot to put Swift’s name as a co-writer. I was only suggesting that it was maybe a misprint or something. And Taylor, I appreciate the information, but I was aware of it. I know that Liz Rose was awarded the award because of her relationship with SESAC, and that Taylor won the BMI because of her relationship with them, I just thought that they usually would at least print the names of all the writers. And I hope I’m not stepping on anyones toes, because that definitely isn’t my intention, I think I just wasn’t clear enough. Thanks for all the feedback though guys =]
diane says:
Doesn’t matter if Taylor wrote or co wrote these songs..She is an incredible songwriting talent…for her age and maturity level.I too dont care for her voice live although I like her recorded songs and videos..The child cannot sing live and that is why she has all the hype and props..But she is talented..Although I feel as of late she is leaning alittle more to pop than country..My question then..isnt modern country…..pop
Kevin says:
Thanks for clearing it up Taylor.
RedMaZ says:
Hi diane, I would say that’s close. Mainstream Country is Pop Music. But there are several other types of today’s country that are NEW, and modern too. I’d say Red Dirt music is modern wouldn’t you?
Kate says:
Diane,
You refer to Taylor as ‘the child”? She is eighteen.Julianne Hough just turned 20 and has been working professionally for a long time and not once have I heard anyone refer to her as a ‘child’. She’s a beautiful ‘young woman’. But I have noticed that Taylor is often referred to as a ‘child’. Why is that? At what age is a person legally considered an ‘adult’?
Kay says:
Who cares if Taylor is more pop or country? She’s making the music she likes to make and it is selling well. She’s happy - let her have that much. If you don’t like it, just don’t listen to it.
RedMaZ says:
…and a marketing genius. That’s why she has the #1 CD in Pop Country music.
TITANSFAN says:
HOORAY! FOR TAYLOR SWIFT.U ROCK
EminemFan says:
Nothing to do with marketing really. How come she did not recieve this much criticism with her first CD. There are the same type of music, just fearless is a little bit better. Also, why is everybody pissed that there is pop influence in hte record, have u listened to country lately? And i do love Miranda, Dolly and almost everything else besides Rascall Flatts. If theres anyone who isn’t country its them. Taylor may not be the most talented, but she’s certainly up there these days. The reason why I believe her albums sells so well is that people relate to it. And there is something about her that is so likeable. If there is so much marketing involved then how did her first Cd sell so well with no marketing at all? It sold 39000 in the first week. Its her music that people like.
RedMaZ says:
Well they’re certainly not Roots Country songs, but they are most definately Pop Country songs. From my understanding her music is played on Pop Country radio. Her music is on the Pop Country charts, and she is nominated and wins Pop Country awards. It may be your opinion that they are not country songs, but it is a fact they ARE Pop Country songs.
KAREN K says:
Well said Wendy lots of buy this get this have been used to sell this album and you can delete me if you want but I only speak the truth when I posted yesterday!!! One thing is for sure Carrie never had to use buy my album and you could get this–not one gimmick was used!! Nor any other country arist in country history had to use buy this get this!! WE THE FAN LOVE TAY… FOR THE ONES THAT DONT HAVE FEARLESS SHOULD GET ONE ITS AMAZING!!!
dj says:
Taylor sold all thses albums because she did everything besides hand them out for free–which she did if you take into consideration she gave others things to get people to buy the cd–and if you give a cd for download for $3.99 I would hope she had good sales–But it wasn’t much higher than some others have had and they did not have to give things away and their album prices were in the same price range as other artist. Maybe her label will run out of money soon–as they can not be nmaking anything–the way they are giving things away to get people to buy her album. I feel sorry for the other people that are on that label.
And lets not forget you can buy a signed cd at concerts for $5 bucks–It will all come to a head soon –just hang in there everyone. A signed cd –just another ploy to get people to buy–Now I would not have one if it was handed to me free. If I am going to buy a cd and listen to it–it will be from someone that can sing live as well as they can on cd—because if they can’t then the music is fake.
DIAMOND says:

Kate says:
RedMaZ
I know you keep talking about ‘country pop’ or maybe is ‘pop-country).But the fact of the matter is that there is no chart called ‘country pop’ that I know of. Nor is there a chart called ‘country R&B’ or ‘country folk’…I do understand what you are saying and I don’t agree with it …completely. But the most important thing is that the music industry does not agree with your categorization….yet.
Even if I agreed with your ’sub-genres’(my term)idea, which is that under the ‘pop’ umbrella you have such sub-genres as country, r&b,folk, rock to name a few you forgot one and that is ‘pop’. These sub-genres are viewed as separate and distinct from each other. The industry tracks these sub-genres separately and the focus is on competition within the genres as opposed to outside the genres i.e. pop competes with other pop artists on the pop chart, country competes with other country artists on the country chart.
That’s the way it is REDMaZ and to argue differently is simply a waste of your time and energy…for now. Maybe someday they’ll see it your way…but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
To EMINEMFan: Taylor Swift is listed as a country artist. But her album is definitely a Pop album. What’s it doing on the country chart? Why is it not competing with other pop artists on a pop chart? Does it matter that she calls herself one thing and presents herself as something else? At one time the Country music industry would have said ‘Hell, yes! It does matter’! But perhaps that’s changed. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
In regard to Taylor’s first album, it was going nowhere until they re-mixed a number of its songs to sound more pop. Remember that it took her first album two-plus years to achieve it’s present status. And it did that after re-mixing, and re-releasing the album several times.
For the second album there is no pretence..they went where the fans are..pre-teens with pop leanings. But she still calls herself a ‘country’ artist.
Side Note. Taylor is going to be 19 years old, Dec.13..Now come on folks that is no ‘child’.
Sam says:
I love Taylor Swift. She`s gorgeous & has a voice of an angel. She is a country Goddess. I think Country music is lucky to have someone like her. Any genre would be lucky to have her. She`s down-to-earth, and not a prima donna like some stars become. Taylor is totally gorunded, and never forgets where she came from. She is a true star. Taylor shines brighter than a diamond. She totally rocks.
RedMaZ says:
Well Kate, I don’t know where to start, but here we go. Pop Country is a sub-genre of Pop Music. Anything that’s played in the Mainstream Commercial market that is overproduced and overplayed for profit is Pop Music, no matter what the genre. For example, the Billboard Country chart. Pop music consists on many genres. For example, Pop Rock, Pop Country, Pop R&B etc. I was wondering if you are familiar with Americana Music? Then it becomes very clear, for there are many sub-genres of Americana Music too, including Roots Rock, Roots Country, Bluegrass, etc. Now if Swift was anything more than just a Pop Country singer, wouldn’t she also be on the Americana Chart? Because Americana consists of a LOT of country music, and Swift has never charted. Let me ask you this, do you consider Taylor Swift an Americana artist? For anyone who can actually sit there and say that cmt, cma, acm, cmt music awards, your local commercial country radio station are not a part of Mainstream Pop Music Culture is only fooling themselves.
lovetaylorswift says:
you haters are absolutely ridiculous. taylor has worked hard for everything she has… she did it on her own unlike carrie underwoodshe didnt go on a talent competition she sat in her record label that had nothing it was a small label just starting 12 people and she put cds in envelopes to send to radio because she wanted to make music..that girls could relate to. she deserves everything because nothing has been handed to her. and how you people can sit and literally HATE AND PUT HER DOWN is beyond me… she makes music that is real and she has talent i am glad she sold more albums than tpain he sings about sex and is very vulguar at least taylor sings about love and high school and real things girls go through heartbreak she gives girls of all ages hope and belief that they will find there prince you just need to beieve in love so all you people who wanna trash her can suckkkkkkk it. cause in reality shes probably years younger than you and she made more in the past 2 years than you have in 20 years. :) okay thanks and thats all.
ps.
all of you need a life and not sit on cmt.com blogs hating on an 18 year old girl.
geezeeeeee.
i lovelovelovelovelove taylor alison swift.
taylorswiftfan says:
I don’t care what any of you think. Your just upset because none of you could ever do what she dose. She dose a lot to promote her music. I for one have never seen an 18 year old do as much as she dose and still love doing it. So for all of you who don’t like Taylor Swift just keep your traps glued shut. So why don’t all of you computer geeks go find somthing else to do with your time then bad mouthing her.
I love Taylor Swift
Kate says:
Lovetaylorswift
At least Taylor Swift and her team were smart enough to keep her away from any SINGING talent shows..because she would not have made it past the very first stages of competition. This is cruel, but the reality is that she might have been one of the contestants they show who didn’t make it so that the audience can see why they didn’t succeed.
Winning a talent show does not guarantee success. .Look at Taylor Hicks, Ruben,Fantasia and the jury is still out on Daughtry and Cook and Sparks, more time is needed there. But if the contestant has bushel loads of talent, like say Frank Sinatra did or Carrie Underwood,or Kelly Clarkson then lots of hard work can turn a win into a bona-fide career.
I find it interesting that no-one ever bashes Miranda Lambert or the newest winner Larsen. Both these people got their start on a talent show. But I guess it’s only if you WIN the contest and then become MEGA-successful that people object. I find it hard to understand how people reason sometime.
Look Taylor is a wonderful talent. The reality is that she has potential as a song writer but her vocal skills are non-existent. Never-the-less there are plenty of people who like how she sounds and for them she’s the best artist on earth. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Kevin says:
the overproduced and overplayed portion of your arguement is nothing more than an opinion.
Kate says:
Kevin
Are you talking to me? Whether you are or not, Everything on here including your comment is an opinion.
However; some opinions are founded on more reliable fact than others.
carol says:
She isn’t even country-pop, IMO….she’ ” bubblegum ” pop…that’s why she sold so many cds….teen and tweens….( yes, I know…it’s not ALL teens, but most of it is )…
ErinLovesTaylorSwift says:
Taylor sold all those albums all by herself. And you wanna know why? Because she truly is an awesome singer, songwriter performer. ALL OF THE ABOVE!!! Have you seen her in concert? She doesn’t just stand there and sing!! Like SOME country artists. She gets into it and has fun with it! Her fans love her because she’s a true person and loves each fan! She takes the time to sign things and talk to people and focus on each person! She’s freaking amazing and if you don’t like it, then you can go somewhere else..
I’m so freaking sick of people making fun of us Taylor fans and giving us crap! We don’t go around making fun of of the music you haters like! Jeeze! People GROW UP!!

LOVE TAYLOR SWIFT!!!SHE IS GREAT!!BASHERS GO AWAY!!GO TAYLOR! KEEP DOING WHAT YOUR DOING !!DO NOT LISTEN TO THESE BASHERS!!OK!!
taylorswiftfan says:
This is a blog only for people who like taylor swift and those of you who don’t. Should leave and make sure the door dose not hit them on the way out. GO AWAY BASHERS!!!! Taylor Swift is the best.
luvncountry says:
The teenyboppers reign on this blog I see. No point in making a comment.
hotelmotel says:
Although I think Taylor Swift comes in for a lot of unjustified abuse, posts from Taylor fans such as “GO AWAY!” and “If you don’t like it you can go somewhere else” and “People GROW UP” are unlikely to gain much sympathy. The people who bash with out reason look silly, but so do the street-team types.
EminemFan says:
Kate, Taylor did not really re-release her first ablum or re-mix it at all as many times as you say. I bought it relatively new and all the songs are exactly the same on the “remixed” version. The only thing she did was re-release a special edition version of it with a different cover and 4 new songs i believe. Don’t be pulling out lies like that. It may be more pop oriented, but there is still a lot of country influence. She just writes what see feels at hte time and whatever kind of music it ends up being, well who cares as long as its a quality product. It will prolly be the best selling country album to come out this year, and numbers are the only thing that don’t lie. So stop hating all you “traditional country” people and embrace this music, shes prolly the best thing to happen to country in the past few years, cause i don’t know it you noticed but country has been in a downhill spiral lately, and if she brings in a bigger audience, good for her. And i am not bashing traditional country at all, its great music, but times are changing and some people need to broaden their range of music. There’s no problem with going from Folsom Prison Blues to Our Song to Eminem’s Lose Yourself on a Mixtape. As long as you don’t start listening to Lil’ Wayne or T-Pain or all those other talentless artists out there. If we should be hating on anyone it should be them, cause they are destroying not just one genre of music, but all with their dumbed down lyrics and crappy Songs. That being said, whos excited for Guns N’ Roses Chinese Democracy SUnday 11/23?
tanner lee says:
i am a big fan and she is going to do great with what ever she wonts
Kate says:
EMINEMFan;
I am not lying. I am repeating what has been reported many times by different sources on the net and the charts and sales records don’t lie. I am not a traditional country or non-traditional country fan. I am a fan of music, period. I believe the industry does have a problem with people who call themselves country but record ‘pop’ music instead. As I said earlier perhaps this has changed ..time will tell. I don’t hate Taylor as I don’t know her personally..but I am not partial to her music and in particular her voice. But her fans love her and that’s all that matters.
DavidB says:
im putting this on several blogs so it can get extra attention….Guys, I have a simple solution for the Taylor Swift dating problem. She can date me! ha ha what better way for Taylor Swift to make even more headlines than for her to date a no-name college student, such as myself. Now I know there are several of you thinking, “This is just some crazed stalker-fan, who cant get a date on his on with anybody he knows.” Farthest thing from the truth. Im a fairly decent looking guy (check out my myspace @ myspace.com/davidburk20) and i know how to treat a lady like… a lady ha ha. Seriously, she seems like a sweet girl, and im a pretty nice guy… and just because im not famouse doesnt mean i shouldnt get a chance. I think CMT and the fans of taylor swift should ban together and petition her to go out on a date with me. She can even bring her agent. (Where do you take a multi-millionair super star for the first date?)
EminemFan says:
Lol Kate, I’d like to see where you got ur information, In ur head lol.
Kate says:
EMINEMFan:
Ha Ha Cute. What I said is fact..the album was re-released which you admit, and the reason is irrelevant, records were re-mixed for pop period.
Unless you know TS personally everything in your post is nothing more than assumption…and I know that’s all coming from your head.
goldie says:
love taylor swift her new cd is GREAT! congrats on your win on the amas!!!
mrcat149 says:
Now we know where to find all the 11 and 12 year old girls. Only the tinnie bopper club could have anything good to say about Taylor Swifts voice. She does not have the talent to sing Country and should tryout for Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus can’t sing either.
WHY? says:
Why do Taylor Swift fans always bash Carrie Underwood for not writing her songs. Who cares? If a singer can sing,(no comment) who are they hurting?
I believe they nail Carrie for this against Taylor because thats the only thing Taylor has on her.
So what. Carrie doesn’t write all her stuff.
By the way, I think album sales, in this day and age, are hardly a standard with which to measure an artist’s talent.
goldie says:
I THINK THE REASON WHY CU FANS COMPARE TAYLOR WITH HER IS BECAUSE, SHE CAN NOT WRITE HER OWN SINGS, ANYONE AN GIVE A SINGER A SONG AND THEY WILL SING IT. BUY THE WAY THE ONLY REASON OR AT LEAST A BIG ONE FOR HER WINNING IDOL WAS SHE HAD BIG TIME VOICE LESSONS, IF YOU PEOPLE DO NOT BELIEVE ME JUST PLAY BACK AI, AND YOU WILL SEE THAT THEY DO.GO TAYLOR!!!
Shelby says:
Okay look, everyone has their own opinions on who they like to listen to. Some people love Taylor Swift and some people don’t. It depends on you and your music style. Everyone says that Taylor Swift’s music is just for teens and tweens, but I listened to it and it reminded me of my life as a teen: like her songs fifteen, and the best day. I personally like Swift’s music and songs, but I do not care much for her voice. But I do think she does good and really appreciate her for that. However, some people don’t. But please remember that just because she doesn’t mean anything to you, she means the world to others. I have a 12 year old daughter who loves her and it upsets us both to see rude comments one here. I think Taylor is a great role model for girls and women everywhere. If you don’t think so, then that’s fine, but just please remember she does have many fans.
Charlie says:
592,000 copies the first week does not change the fact Taylor still can’t sing her songs live to save her life!!!
Tonight’s performance from the Grammy Live show was just as bad as all of her other flat off key out of breath appearances.
Please make the girl practice! I am not just saying this because I don’t like her. I like the recorded versions of some of her songs. I get it!! The songs have some appeal to them. She just has no skills as a singer!!!
She couldn’t make it past the first round of idol try outs.
Please help her!! Get her a vocal coach and someone yell at her when the song is flat please!!!!
Country music is known for some of the best live acts going but I’m sorry until she can learn how to be a professional she needs to stay away from live shows!!!
barb b says:
all of you people stop comparing carrie to
taylor the two cannot be compared carrie has
a beautiful voice as far as i am concerned
taylor cant sing the girl is 19 yrs old.
what kind of a role model is she for a 12 yr old
the songs she writes are all about boys .
leave carrie alone she is only doing what
what she loves.
Jules says:
Guys guys guys! Can we please stop this arguing and just think about what’s really important here and the true issue? I have floor seats to Taylor’s concert on Saturday! Woot woot! Ya!
P.S. To the people who don’t like Taylor..that’s totally fine, but if you hate her she will write a song about you and then you’ll be contributing to her success. So do yourself a favor, buy her CD and rock out! If you don’t, don’t be surprise if her next #1 hit is something like “If you don’t like my music..you can suck it!” (featuring T-pain)
