Music City Madness Narrows Field to Eight
Music City Madness is down to its final eight competitors and the talent is truly rising to the top. Almost three million votes were cast during the Sweet 16 and much of the action came down to the final night of voting. Here are the matchups we’re left with:
Cassidy Lynn of Nolensville, Tenn., with her rocking tune, “Down By The Bonfire,” versus Kurt Thomas of Smyrna, Ga., with the poetic “Follow Your Lead.”
The Electric Cowboys of San Antonio, Texas, with their sentimental “Because I Love You” against Jackson T. Gardner of Waynesbug, Pa., and the candid “I’d Go Again.”
Michael Allen Magliulo of Alhambra, Calif., with his anthem, “American Dream,” matching up against Maddie Georgi of Allison Park, Pa., and her thoughtful “Gone Away Again.”
Toby Bradley of Moxee, Wash., with his spirited song, “Bill Mack Won’t Play My Track,” versus Kayleigh C. Jack of Eagle, Idaho, and her melodic “Stuffed Animals.”
You’ve got one week to cast your vote so head to madness.cmt.com right now to help send your favorite on to the next round! I’ll be back next week to break down the action and look ahead to the Music City Madness Final Four.

We were really disappointed with the outcome of the top 8 contestants. Some of them deserve to be there, some don’t. With the voting ending 1 hour early in round 3, some advanced on that probably would not have, had that not happened. It would be nice to have some type of explanation from CMT. Was it a virus? Or, was it shut down because of someone breaking the rules? Whatever the reasoning, I believe everyone should have been given another hour, even if the next day, to finish out the voting. Also, If CMT doesn’t do something about these high tech computer voting programs, you may continually end up with winners that are not marketable at all. Just good programmers.
