The Two Sides of a Carrie Underwood Concert
Artists get good reviews and bad reviews. But rarely do they get both from one show. Carrie Underwood's Saturday night (Nov. 15) show in California must be the exception. Because the critic at the San Francisco Chronicle said Underwood "flaunted that wholesome, harmless, megawatt telegenic appeal." And that she "worked the room with cheerleader confidence and tireless bonhomie" and pulled off an excellent cover of an old Fleetwood Mac song. A writer for the Oakland Tribune tells a different story, claiming, "The 100-minute concert felt too long and didn't contain nearly enough songs that truly connected with the near-capacity crowd." If you were at the show, please let us know which critic got it right.

Kevin says:
I wasnt at the show, but with two reviews giving two different stories, I would say that overall the show was probably just ok. Nothing really special. Ive seen Carrie a few times and thought she was really good. However, Ive never seen her as the headliner. Even with all the success she has had, its possible that she still isnt quite at the level of a big time headlining artist. Im sure alot of people will disagree with that, and thats ok. Im not bashing her, I LIKE HER, but that could be what the critic who wrote the bad review saw in her show that night. Even with all the hits she has already had, those arent enough to fill 100 minutes. So, there are bound to be songs in there that the casual fan doesnt recognize or connect with. At the same time, Im sure that her dedicated fans that were there loved the show and thought it was perfect. But thats the thing about opinions. Everybody has one, and they can be totally different from person to person, and it usually it doesnt mean either one is wrong.
With all that being said, it could be that the person who wrote the bad review didnt like Carrie in the first place, so couldnt stand to say good things about the show. And also, it could be that the person who wrote the good review is a huge fan of Carrie, and couldnt say anything bad about it.
lauren says:
I don’t know what that one reporter was saying because i found video of that night on youtube and when she was singing before he cheats the whole audience was singing along.
Kevin says:
Also this could teach a good lesson. If you want to form an opinion about an artist, dont rely on what you hear from anybody else, whether it be good or bad. Go to one of their live shows. You might be pleasantly surprised. Or maybe just the opposite.
dj says:
Kevin if you did not go –why did you answer–I think she said she wanted to hear from someone that was there? But her being a Taylor fan I am sure she is looking for negative posts–Now Allison are you going to delete this.
Jordyn barr says:
i can sit my whole life listening to her song without getting bored! i love carrie! i wasnt at that concert but i went to one of her concerts a month ago and it was the best day of my life! if anyone says anything bad abot her they are just jealous.
Pam Nogare says:
I was at the concert. This is the third time of seen Carrie and it was by far her best performance. She was confident, having fun and connecting with the audience. My friend and I had a great time. She will only get better with time.
Kevin says:
I answered because I have an opinion. Like I said, I like Carrie and I wasnt bashing her. The blog did not say, “dont comment unless you were there.” Also, contrary to alot of peoples beliefs, its possible for somebody to be a fan of more than one female artist at a time. Just because somebody is a Taylor fan doesnt mean they hate Carrie. Like I clearly said in my earlier comment. I LIKE CARRIE. So calm down and dont be so quick to try to run to her defense.
Kellianne says:
Just a little question, nothing in relation to this article in particular because what do we know and not know? Though have you ever wondered how much these critics and writers of country music concerts actually know about country music, or are they only doing it to get a paycheck? I’ve always wondered how much they actually know and only write about what people think they know.
Anyways, sorry just wondering -however the Fleetwood Mac cover she does isn’t just her. Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t “Go Your Own Way” Fleetwood Mac? Now she doesn’t do that song by herself, opening act for her, Little Big Town and her collabarate together on the song doing a duet at the end of the show I think? Or something of the sort.
Tara says:
I actually went to her show in Binghamton, NY in October. I have to say, she puts on a great show. It was my first time seeing her in concert. I like the fact that she sings the songs the way they were recorded. I dont like going to shows where the artist feels the need to change the song so much that you can’t even sing along. You feel lost. Like I said, I wasn’t at the show in question, but I did see her recently. I agree with Kevin…..Don’t rely on a newspaper review. If you are going to read a review, read the one’s belonging to the fans. They have the true reviews.
Brenda says:
I was not at that concert, but have seen her 3 times. I can see every one of them getting better.
That is one thing about country music I left for many years.
I came back when Carrie came on the scene.
They spew negativity about artist they don’t like,
and build on one artist at a time, leaving a lot behind.
They should not be writing blogs about what other critics
are saying, they say enough themselves to drive fans away.
Carrie is “in my opinion one of the greats out there today” so go ahead and erase, I won’t be here to see it.
Once again , along with my family and friends are leaving country music, such a complicated place to try and enjoy an artist.
There are other ways I can enjoy the ones I like,
Have a good evening. I truly hope that young artist will soon be treated with more respect, not just one of them, all of them.
luvncountry says:
RedMaz, we can’t imagine YOU sitting through 100 mins of ANY pop country artist singing. So what else is new? Why do you even bother commenting on it, just to get your 2c in?
I have not seen Carrie in concert, but I love all her songs, some more than others. I like Taylor recorded and on video, not LIVE. I’m with Kevin, it IS possible to like more than ONE artist at a time and be loyal to all.
Kevin says:
You just put down a whole group of people, most of which you do not know. The kind of music somebody listens to doesnt make them the person they are. That was pretty rude. Especially coming from such an “open minded” person.
Jamie says:
Well unlike some folks who have commented I was at the Oakland show and I would say there is no doubt that Carrie totally connected with the audience. There were fans of all age groups there, from Seniors like myself to young girls like Adrian (4) who sang All American Girl with Carrie and my granddaughter and her friend both 9. It was a great show as Carrie’s always are with her humble demeanor, her personable banter between songs and her amazing voice on every song. If she didn’t connect with people then why was everyone on their feet singing along almost the entire show except when there was an interlude for costume changes.
My granddaughter and her friend are still on cloud 9 as Carrie was constantly giving them smiles and waving and made sure she touched their hands every time she made her way down the catwalk. One of their favorite parts of the concert was touching Carrie’s hand - they were thrilled to death as was the 50 something male and his wife who sat in front of me and countless teens, and 20 and 30 somethings all around me. The energy level of the fans was great all night and you could feel the disappointment in the air when Carrie finished her encore. For all of us the concert wasn’t long enough.
Every critic have an opinion and most that post negative ones are not fans of country music or have a preconceived perception of the artist and aren’t open minded. Sounds like this critic was one of those.
If you are going to make a decision about seeing Carrie in concert then listen to the San Francisco Chronicle writer because they were right on the money. She is one of the best live performers going these days and you won’t be disappointed..
RedMaZ says:
So…was that any more rude than you prejudging a concert you didn’t attend by stating “I would say that overall the show was probably just okay”. “Nothing really special”?
Kevin says:
Yes, it was more rude. I said that could have possibly been a reason for the two totally different reviews. I also said other things that I thought could have played a part in the show getting those reviews. I also said that the times I have seen Carrie, I thought she was good.
Kevin says:
I also said that before you form an opinion about an artist, you should go see one of their live shows.
RedMaZ says:
Too late to apologize now fella
Tui08 says:
I’m sure that when Alison said tell us what critic got it right she didn’t mean let’s get all nasty to one another.
Come on guys who cares who likes Carrie and who doesn’t.
What Alison actually said was: If you were at the show, please let us know which critic got it right. So if you weren’t at the show then you can’t really answer the question, can you.
RedMaZ says:
Knowledge is power. You seem to have a problem with that. How do you know Americana music is lame. List me the last 10 Americana artists you’ve listened to, and if I haven’t heard them, I’ll be glad to check them out.
cindy white says:
Hmm..
Kate says:
Alison,
I have been waiting for you to come up with a Carrie blog. And you have not disappointed me. I knew it wouldn’t be about her 3rd CMA FVOTY award nor would it be about her fantastically successful sold-out tour, nor would it be about her 8th consecutive number 1 hit, her CMA performance, etc…..
After almost a year of touring you are bound to get a few lukewarm reviews..even if the tour is selling out.So here’s what I have to say about the two reviews…Each critic got it right because it’s purely based on their personal preferences and bias and nothing more, not on the entertainer’s talent or success or crowd reaction…it’s just ONE person’s opinion …I’m sure you know what I’m talking about here Alison.
In the end the best critics are the thousands, actually millions of people who have attended CU concerts not once but multiple times and feel that the 100 minutes (which includes the opening act) is not long enough.
emily says:
i went to her concert in november of this year a couple weeks back…i dont know what the reporter is talking about who was so negative i question if he went to a carrie concert or if’s just confused or maybe he just doesnt like her. i thought her performance was very very very good…she sounds exactly the same as the cd actually better she definitely brings chills to your skin thats for sure i couldnt believe how beautifull she really does sing…she is also very very very beautifull you cant stop looking at her, she talks to us a lot and she seems so down to earth like fame hasn’t changed her at all she’s really sweet and i loved her show it was awesome and from the looks of it she had the crowd going singing her songs and all…i recommend anyone who loves her or doesnt love her to go she’s a true artist and she will definietly make you fall in love with her. carrie underwood is amazing end of story, there are critics who love you or hate you but ultimately it is carrie’s fans who are going to these shows buying her albums…and are rooting for her all the time, so it doesnt matter what the critics say carrie is here to stay she has an awesome talent great career and her star is only rising and her fans are incredible just like she is…carrie is going nowhere…but staying in country…sorry haters.
Kevin says:
who’s apologizing? I told you what I had already said in the first place.
Kim says:
Did I seriously miss something? did anyone here go read those two reviews? Alison, I think you got this one wrong. (and BTW that second link, the one to the oakland tribute didn’t work. had to google it; a duplicate is on the insidebayarea website) They are both negative. you said the one from the San Fran Chronicle was positive, but it says at the very very bottom, “It is truly amazing how far you can go in this country with a little talent. It doesn’t even matter how little.” and “She can put an electric bolt through a song with one of her trademark, piercing notes - the kind of top-note showboating talent…” showboating? that’s positive?
And “high-volume, overboard intensity….doesn’t leave much room for subtlety or nuance.” That’s not good.
and “whose demographics spilled far beyond the conventional confines of country music, something Underwood only NOMINALLY plays.” meaning she’s not really a country star like she says she is.
people, go read them.
That, to me are NOT a positive comments. the whole thing seemed to be dripping with sarcasm. there were some positive points yeah, but overall it seemed they were calling her a tv-found, formula pop-star. Read it again. that was not complimentary to Carrie at all. the San Fran Chronicle review was even more degrading than the Oakland Tributes’. They were both negative. if you google it, nobody liked it. there are comments below including people who were there, and most of them disagree with the critics. So who really knows?
luvncountry says:
Oh darn, CMT deleted my post, no big surprise there. Ah well, I love Carrie, I love (most) country pop artists, and don’t care to, or have time to search out others I have no interest in. And before I’m asked “how do you know if you have no interest if you don’t check them out” I just say I DON’T CARE to check them out, my variety is just fine.
RedMaZ says:
Then stop being prejudice. It’s very ugly.
Avery says:
This is a stupid blog and just another chance to try and say something negative. I will never forget what you wrote earlier this year Alison. Carrie is amazing in concert! She gives a 110% and anyone that hasn’t seen her has really missed a great night of music! There isn’t an act out there that hasn’t gotten a luke warm review. Sometimes I think the critic gives it to get talked about which in this case worked. I agree with an earlier blogger..why not something about the great performance on the CMAs or her and Brad’s great hosting job. Isn’t there enough negativity in this world?
Patrick says:
I was there and it was incredible. It was sold out and everyone was on their feet. Carrie was rocking– her vocals were perfect, and her stage presence was fantastic.
I don’t understand why this review was posted here? Just to cause trouble and trash Carrie again?
Allison- you should post negative reviews about Taylor for once to be fair… Oh but you won’t– because you think she is the best thing since sliced bread. Not. More like over-rated.
Allison– why do you find the one negative review Carrie got, and post that– when she gets 100’s of GREAT reviews from critics. Why don’t you post the nice reviews, for Carrie, instead of only the bad ones?
I swear- I know you are a Taylor fan, but you need to leave poor Carrie alone already.
She is amazing!
vp says:
So I don’t think you actually had to be at the concert to comment. You really are taking alot of flak aren’t you Kevin. I do agree with the majority of what you said.
Myself I have been to two Carrie concerts this year, they were six months apart. Let me tell you the difference six months makes. I think people are a little to critical of her she has only been performing for two and a half years, of course she is only going to get better. Carrie herself has said it in many interviews and magazines that she still has alot of growing to do on the stage, but says she is working on it, and her peers who haven’t seen her perform in while when they do say yes you are getting better.
People’s expectations these days are just too high, all people need room to learn and grow at everything we do. All I can say is at least she is out there regardless of these reviews and blogs, doing what she loves and getting better everyday.
Both times I took youger people to go see her, but for sure I will go again with or without young ones next time she is in town, cause she can really put on a great show. I can only imagine as her music catelogue get bigger how her shows will get even bette than they already are.
luvncountry says:
Just because I don’t want to check other musical avenues? That’s ridiculous and it’s NOT prejudice, it’s called PERSONAL PREFERENCE. You have yours, I have mine. Period.
RedMaZ says:
Yes they did delete your prejudice remark. Good. As they should have.
Elizabeth says:
I agree Kate - Allison rarely ever says anything positive about Carrie and it just kills me that she couldn’t even mention her LIVE performance at the CMAs or the fact that she is one of just a handful of women who have won FVOTY three times. Funny her peers seemed to think she was pretty darn good live! Seems like they would be a pretty tough crowd to wow.
I wasn’t at this concert, but I have seen her in concert and my family and I thought she was wonderful. So did a whole bunch of critics up and down the eastern seaboard and in Canada. Funny those concert reviews were never ever referenced by Alison. How typical.
I have made a decision. I am permanently saying goodbye to CMT. You will not see me post here again. I am just sick to death of the writers here and all the haters. Isn’t that what you want Alison to drive Carrie Fans away. Well you just go ahead and enjoy your favorite pop artist. Mission accomplished. Your personal agenda is complete. Now they just need to remove the word Country from this site.
RedMaZ says:
cmt.com has some great country music on it. As well as Rock, Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass, Folk, and more. Almost every artist I listen to is featured here.
Melissa says:
I wanted to go to that so badly!!! But I’ve seen her in cocnert, and she’s good! I personally think the songs are fun to sing along with, but she I wouldn’t necessarily nominate her for entertainer of the year. Like I said, she’s an AWESOME vocalist, but you wouldn’t see any special effects like you would at a Rascal Flatts or Kenny Chesney show.
Carrie’s vocals are anything but boring, but…there isn’t a lot to go along with the vocals, and I think that’s part of what contributes to a great show. I think vocals are the most important, obviously, but you also need to have an extra “oomph.”
K says:
Carrie may have stronger vocals than Taylor, but Taylor puts on a better show. She has more of those “oomphs” as “M” says. Has anyone ever seen Taylor do the banging drum thing while performing “Should’ve Said No” or whip her hair or mosh during songs? Carrie doesn’t do those things…
She sings, but what else is there to her concerts?
I love Carrie, so don’t take this wrong. But I’ve seen Taylor in concert too, and I must say, Carrie has better vocals, but Taylor’s more entertaining.
luvncountry says:
Cool, go listen to it. Think I’ll go listen to my country pop, you know, like Carrie, Kelly, Taylor, Brad, George, Keith, Kenny, Tim, Faith, Dolly, and the rest of the pc clan
Kevin says:
I guess your remark about Carrie’s fan base wasnt prejudice?
vp says:
Carrie actually got some good reviews for having a simple stage with only her green lazer lighting and confetti at the end. They said it was nice to focus on the music not the circus shows that the stadium headliners put on.
Brianna says:
Carrie is my fav. singer, and i’m gonna take up fur her anytime, anyplace.
Brianna says:
Taylor Swift is awesome also, but carrie is my one and only favorite.
Shelley says:
I was visiting my family in Sacremento and went to the concert with my brother (he is in television) and a few friends. My brother is a dedicated rock fan and I was really surprised that he absolutely raved about Carrie and her performance. I can tell you that all the fans were having a great time and singing along. I don’t know what concert the critics were attending–they sure were’nt at Carrie’s!! Maybe they were across the street at a bar. She puts on a great show and I will go see her again whenever I can.
ivan says:
i dont know about the negative reviewer…but with all the videos from carrie’s concerts on youtube that i have watched they are all exciting and really fun and enegetic…the negative reviewer is just jelous of carrie’s success and not a fan of hers…
Lisa says:
Seriously, Marcus -
Simply to best post ever LOL!!!!
Thanks, I needed a good laugh = )
Tui08 says:
I have read these comments and have to say I’m pretty shocked at how aweful people have been towards one another.
Grow up! seriously. Taylor and Carrie are both wonderful artist’s and positive role model’s.
Douglas says:
carrie is kind & wonderful & she would make a very very good role-model. i hate any one who talks bad about carrie
but thats their business. i love carrie so so much plus i would treat her like a special queen & i mean it plus she has talent & her music is off the wall & her voice is perfect for me? i wish i could take you in my arms & give you a nice hug’s & i mean it. P’S YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE.
RedMaZ says:
easy big fella…
Jamie says:
I would suggest if the writer is going to post links to something in a story that they make sure they work. Neither worked for me which is pretty amateurish journalism. My comments about the concert were based on my personal observations of other fans and my own experience at the concert.
cindy white says:
wow
Kevin says:
lol. I was thinkin that too RedMaZ
Christine says:
I was at the concert and i felt that any reviewer who says the show was bad or that Carrie did not connect with an audience is wrong. She totally connected with the audience. This was my first Carrie concert and i felt that the audience thoroughly enjoyed it as did I.
LW says:
She did a fantastic show here in Bakersfield on Saturday. There were 7000 people at the show, but could have easily sold 3000 more tickets. She puts on a great, heartfelt show.
tmo says:
comparison between carrie and taylor swift, I preffered carrie not only she’s beautiful, smart and can actually sing. I was at the show, I lv’d every minute of it. I’ll see her concert over and over again. This was my first carrie concert and based on my personal experience I totally enjoy it. So how’s that for a critics…..
Todd says:
I attended the Oakland show and when I read the Oakland tribue review I seriously had to question if he was at the same concert I was. Carrie connected with every person that was in the audience. The section that I was in sang along with every song and loved every minute of the concert. Reading reviews like this one, just makes me hope that people don’t actually make a decision about attending a Carrie concert based on some review. if they do they are missing one heck of a show.
Penny says:
Carrie is awesome in concert! I don’t think anyone can even question that. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and that is all a critic is. Carrie connects so well with audience, plays the guitar and just gives it all in her concerts. You won’t be disappointed because she is there working her heart out for you..the fans!! As far as me, I would much rather hear someone that can actually sing than someone who can beat on a drum and whip their hair around..those are not my words but an earlier blogger.
cj says:
Alison is a Taylor fan so don’t expect her to write anything good about Carrie. Home come no one is talking about how good she was on the CMA”s and how good the song was at the end.
Jenny says:
I read both of the entire reviews and both were negative. I watched the youtubes of several songs before posting here. You can clearly see the crowd on their feet and singing along. I have been to 8 shows in the last year. Each one Carrie grows as a preformer. From Feb to Apr to Oct the growth was tremendous. Carries vocals are flawless the entire show and she interacts with the crowd with hand slaps, chatter, and bringing a child up on the stage. She changes up the speed with ballads and upbeats interspersed throughout.
One critic said the video montage was “nauseating and self absorbed” that tells you right there they don’t know Carrie very well. Carrie is one of the humblest artists around. You can praise her and praise her and she always puts it back on someone else. Just take a look of the after pressroom from the CMA’s. The video brought tears to the eyes of many at the concert as they are so proud of all she has accomplished. That video is highly valued by her true fans and gives insight to those that don’t know much about her. I have two more shows to go to before the tour ends and know that I will get my moneys worth.
As far as Taylor goes, I have her CD and enjoy it but would never never pay to see her live. I was so glad everyone got to see how bad she was on the CMA’s. Ugg it was torture to listen without all the studio help.
LK says:
Everyone was off at the CMAs. It wasn’t just Taylor. They seriously need to do something about the mic because I’m tired of hearing good singers sound like crap. It doesn’t happen at any of the other country awards…just the CMAs. You’d think that them being so prestigious would mean that they might actually be able to afford a good mic, but I guess not.
Brian says:
I think all this negative stuff is just BS. I have seen Carrie several times with my wife I might add. I went the first time because she wanted me to go and the rest of the time because I wanted to go. Carrie is really great in concert. She works the stage very well, relates to the audience and she does make you want to stand up the whole time and join in which is exactly what we did. We could argue until we are blue in the face but this girl has real talent! She is down to earth, beautiful, has amazing vocals and puts on a show that is very worthy of seeing. I couldn’t believe how fast the time went by and if she comes anywhere near again..I will be attending another concert of hers. Keep up the good work, Carrie! You are doing great!
DJ says:
Just a comment…not everyone was off at the CMAs. I thought Brad/Keith, Trace, Carrie, Jason, LA just to name a few sounded great! Some people just don’t sound as good live and no mic if going to help them.
STAR says:
why is taylor swift even brought up in this she has nothing to do with cu!!!and by the taylor is very good in person anyone go to country thunder in wi this summer awsome!!!THE REVIEWS SAID TAYLOR SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE HEADLINNER!
Kate says:
For Alison,
If you truly (wink, wink) want to know, go to YOUTUBE and check out the videos of Carrie’s concerts for yourself and you’ll see that these reviewers must have been somewhere else..and/or Carrie is simply not their cup of tea in which case it wouldn’t matter what she did..You can’t please everybody.
For Kris: I’m amazed at how hard you are trying to like Carrie’s concerts. Why are you trying so hard? There’s no rule that says you have to like Carrie or her show. As evidenced by the videos, for every one of you who doesn’t find her performance appealing there are plenty of others who do so relax go to a TS concert maybe that’s more your speed. It would be helpful and more accurate if you preficed your statements by saying ‘For me…” since the experience belongs only to you.
For ‘K’ the taylor fan..I’m glad that ‘head banging’ and ‘randomly banging on drums’ excites you. I personally find it odd and find myself asking, “Why is she doing that?” As I’ve matured my musical tastes have too, so give me a great voice, good music, terrific songs and a wonderful personality all of which Carrie has and I’m set to go.
Jackie says:
Over i million fans have not come to see Carrie because she puts on a bad show. It is obvious from the You tube views of the concert that the fans were having a blast. They were singing so loud you couldnot hear Carrie. The fans were totally involved!!!!!Carrie might not put on a sideshow or have hours oof tailgating but she does have families and all age groups come back time after time to her concerts. She must be doing something right or else she wouln’t have one of the most successful tours this year. Carrie can do something that few entertainers can and that is sound just as good if not better live. It’s true she was just a small town girl from Checotah three years ago and a very shy girl as well. It just shows what hard work, determination, and alot of God-given talent can do. Another thing Carrie has is a whole lot of dedicated fans that love her music and wish her the very best because her career is just getting started!!!!!!
IlikewhatIlike says:
I’ve been to one of Carrie’s concert and absolutely loved it. I agree that banging on drums and slinging hair around is very entertaining. My grandson does it all the time.
RedMaZ says:
So what’s next for him? Smashing up cars with baseball bats? That’s entertaining too, isn’t it?
Deb says:
The smashing of cars with baseball bats would be carrie teaching her grandson to do it via her video, lol.
Kate says:
Well REDMAZ, you seem to think that a child’s banging on a drum is linked to smashing cars with a bat..I fail to see the connection. But if you are implicating ‘Before He Cheats’ video I need to point out that, one of the stages of cognitive development is that a person learns to distinquish between ‘make-believe’ and ‘reality’. Most people have no problem making that leap..Most people, but obviously some don’t.
Kris says:
If anyone of you can direct me to a “Full 110 minute” video of Carries concert from youtube, please do so now or quit using it as an out for Carries poor reviews because of a few good songs caught on youtube, not anywhere near the whole show.
RedMaZ says:
Is that anything like people being able to distinguishing between Pop and Roots music? That doesn’t happen very often does it?
Kate says:
Don’t change the subject REDMAZ…AND I have no interest in the difference between Pop and Roots music.
RedMaZ says:
You don’t? What’s the matter with you? You don’t seem that interested in music. Why is that?
Kate says:
Kris: No one needs to justify the success of CU and her concerts to you or anyone else. Her stats are available for everyone to see…That you question it is very telling.
I’m sure you’ve heard of ’selective hearing’? Well I guess some people engage in both ’selective hearing’ and ’selective seeing’ as well as the ever popular ‘rationalization’…Hey if it floats you’re boat….
IlikewhatIlike says:
I can’t look at my grandson’s angelic face and see a vandel, but I guess you never know. And I doubt the drum banging and hair slinging will be nearly as cute at 18 as it is now at 2. His singing voice is not very good. Maybe he’s on to something here.
dalila says:
i went to a carrie concert in november about 2 weeks ago and i was amazed how really great she is…”kris” just so you know she isn’t an entertainer if you want entertainment go a madonna or britney or janet concert there entertainers not singers….carrie is a singer she doesnt need to entertain her voice does it alone…in my opinion i really enjoyed myself i thought carrie nailed it, as far as connecting with her fans she did talk to us a lot and she was cute and charming i did feel connected to her in fact i liked her even more she seems real down to earth…and everyone was singing to her songs, im not really sure what concert you went to “kris”..but everyone at the concert were participating and from the looks of it having fun if you check out youtube everyone is singing along with her also…im kind of confused how you felt this way “kris”…anyway for those that really do love carrie and understand that country music is about the song the singer the emotion in the voice and not the entertainment like pop you all will love her concerts…carrie is a shy person for her to host the cma’s is awesome and courageious i to am shy person and all the time people misread that for being “stiff” or snobby or whatever its quite annoying, people are so critical… anyway carrie is awesome and it really doesnt matter what critics say or the negaticity around it …its her fans that support her 1000%…she is so appreciative and we will carry..carrie thru anything…luv yah carrie

kris i respect your opinion, i really dont know where your coming from though, and i really dont care there will be those who want to see negative and those who love the artist for their talent i think for starting her career in just a little time of three years her growth has really improved then from idol carrie isn’t perfect she’s a baby still in the industry and she grows everytime she sets foot on that stage. martina, shania ,faith now there pros but im sure it wasnt easy for them in the beginning just like everything its a learning process…they were growing and there still growing we never stop growing if we did whats the fun in that.i think for not having that much experience and from coming off a little show i think she is kicking butt…and handling herself with respect, class, and she’s genuine and thats why people love her. i think critics will be critics i never agree with them anyway every time they love something i hate it and vice versa…carrie is huge her stats are crazy amazing…and she’s only rising to bigger and better things…she will only get improove in time…geeze people give the girl a break its not easy going out there knowing there will be people like you who hate her but she does it anyway as long as her fans are happy thats all she cares about. if you love her or hate her yah better get used to her carrie will be here for a very very very long time.
Kate says:
Oh, on the contrary RedMAZ. I love music! Perhaps not in the same way you do.
RedMaZ says:
I never say you didn’t love music. I said you don’t seem that interested in it.

I will not read and listen to all critics.
All I know I was there at Oracle arena and Carrie Underwood performance was outstanding, she started with a high energy and she finished it with strong performance…what a great entertainer! You know the most important are the fans, who went there spend their $$$ just to see Carrie. And they have a blast, dancing, singing along with Carrie. Fans really enjoyed the night. I have 3 words to share it was
a great night, good experienced and this will be a part of my life. I went there to watched Carrie, I do not care what critics say-they have a different world than normal people. That is their job-they went to school to be 101% critics.
justina says:
i think everyone posting that carrie’s concerts are bland…seriously??? how is that?? i’ve been to her concerts so i can truely say she’s an awesome artist/musician. i respect a true talent when i see one and carrie gets mine hands down. i cant describe to you how her voice just givess you chills and the emotion from her voice when she sings…”wow” is so touching. i think that everyone has the right to their opinion if yall didnt like it then yall must be thinking you were going to a pop concert…if you wanted entertainment. i think the positive out weighs the negative…carrie had one million attending her concerts i dont think thats such a bad turn out at all…she so successfull she’s a charming girl really and i like her shy personality thats doesnt make her “stiff” kris its just that she’s shy…i think shes doing an amazing job and i cant wait to see more of her sorry for you all that are negative about her but it looks like you all will be blogging about her for along while cause carrie’s career in country is huge and she has more fans that love her and are rooting for her then negative ones. carrie is amazing and she is the one that brought me to country she pulled me this way i would have followed her if she went to rap!! haha i love her and i think that because she came off a t.v. show she had to proove herself even more to those that wanna hate…go ahead hate! carrie has outdone herself, and if all you negative bloggers complain, complain! it doesnt matter carrie star has already been rising and it only gets better from here.
Kate says:
STAR
I believe the person who said that was none-other than Alison Bonaguro, Taylor’s number 1 fan and the blogger of this post. Do you see what I mean about critics and their very personal and biased reviews.
Deb says:
Finally a Carrie fan gets it right and admits that “Carrie isn’t an entertainer”! That her “stiffness” or being “snobby” at her concerts are due to being “shy”, Thank you dalila! FYI entertaining is VERY important and very much a part of concerts in any genere of music. Singing alone don’t cut it. Have you ever heard of the CMA entertainer of the year award dalila? FYI again, Carrie is considered pop/country too! For heavens sakes there is a thread on Carries board entitled, “CARRIE’S CROSSOVER CHART WATCH (mediabase)…
Also, since I just joined in this discusion this morning I read down from the top and found it very interesting but not surprising that Taylor Swift got brought up and bashed on because Carrie Underwood received bad reviews? Why is that? Why do Carrie fans feel so threatened by Taylor? Why is it Taylor is the only ‘Artist’ that gets bashed consistently by Carrie fans? But on the other hand if you go to Taylors board you don’t find that animosity towards Carrie. It’s really quite sad and very imature.
Jess says:
I didnt go to the show in CA but i did go to one in CT and she delivered the best performance I’ve ever seen in my entire life! She lit up the stage like a firework show. The San Francisco guy who liked her was beyond right- she is the most AMAZING SINGER, PERFORMER AND ALL AROUND PERSON!!!!!!!!!!!! CARRIE ROCKSSSSSSSS!
IlikewhatIlike says:
People like different things. It all depends on what you think is entertaining. I find Carrie Underwood very entertaining. It’s the voice that I’m drawn to. A so-so singer with alot of bells and whistles, not so much.
vp says:
It doesn’t matter what site or blog you go to people will always be pitting one artist against another, cause everyone has there own favorite or favorite’s. The people who haven’t been to a Carrie concert have no real place to comment. There are many video’s on youtube of her concerts and you can go and decide for yourself. Like I have said before, no one can deny what she has accomplished in just three short years, and of course she is still learning and growing, and she is the first to admit it. I put a link up earlier but they don’t like links on CMT so if anyone want if you go to youtube and put Carrie Underwood in and relevance date added you will find one from today that is an interview from tne CMA fest where Carrie so humbley admits that she is shy and is growing and starting to feel more comfortable. Go check it out, as the saying goes from the horses mouth, no better person to critise Carrie but herself, you are always you own worst critic.
RedMaZ says:
In the Cerebellum prison…of course.
Kate says:
Hi Deb,
There are different types of entertainers, and different types of audiences: there are those with substance and solid performing tools ie. a voice and presence, such as Carrie and then there are those who must rely on a lot of paraphanalia to keep the masses entertained i.e. Taylor Swift. But in the end both audiences consider themselves entertained, and of course let’s not forget about filling the stadium seats. So I’m quite aware of the CMA EOTY award for which many critics feel Carrie was robbed this year. Please don’t generalize the actions and comments of a few Carrie fans, to all Carrie fans.
Carrie has been on the scene now for 3 years, Her many accomplishments will be very difficult to equal.
Will there be artists who can sell more records..sure..with aggressive promotion and pandering to both sides of the fence, i.e, country and pop as TS has done it’s definitely possible. As a matter of fact Before He Cheats contributed significantly to Carrie’s ‘Some Hearts’ sales but the difference between Carrie and Taylor’s cross overs are that Carrie’s did it on it’s own without re-mixing for pop..Taylor’s as we all know is deliberate and part of her marketing.
As for bashing. I don’t know of any other artist perhaps Shania when she first came on the scene, that has been bashed more than Carrie has and continues to be. (you’re a good example). But you know what that’s OK. It comes with the territory. You know what they say, when you’re at the top everyone is gunning for you. And Carrie has definitely raised the benchmark. So when Carrie is competing she’s competing against the best and that is ..Carrie herself.
RedMaZ says:
Here we go with the “Country” and “Pop” thing again…Just so you know, Pop Music is not a certain genre, it’s an industry. An industry which Underwood and Swift are a part of.
Kate says:
..”in the Cerebellum prison’…I got a good chuckle out of that, REDMAZ..a little humour is good for the soul and health in general..thank you.
RedMaZ says:
You’re welcome Kate. Ol Red just made that up. Part of being in show business ;)
To rebel yell…I don’t know who gives a crap, but I’m talking about common musical knowledge which I care about. I wasn’t the one who posted about “Country” and “Pop”.
Kim says:
why are fans so defensive of Carrie? good gods she’s not a reincarnation of a greek muse! she’s human remember people? She is capable of a bad show once in a while. one bad review is not going to ruin her career. and the reviewers that wrote the bad reviews are hardly jealous. the called it like they saw it. you disagree, fine. you agree, fine. blow it off. It shouldn’t be this personal to people. yeesh…it was one concert!
Red, back me up on this, but doesn’t it always seem like the pop country fans that get fire-breathing mad about anyone saying the least bit negative thing about an artist?
Kevin says:
Exactly, here we go with the pop and country thing again. Pop may be an industry. BUT IT IS ALSO A GENRE
RedMaZ says:
Pop music has many genres, including Rock, Hip Hop, Rap, R&B, and Country.
Kim says:
and cue the “oh, your just saying that because you’re the jealous, insecure, has-no-life ugly hater. Carrie’s perfect because I said so and there’s no possible way I’m wrong and you should just shut up because you just.. just so..stupid! why can’t you open your eyes and see that carrie’s perfect like you aren’t” people….
This is so out of hand its really funny.
And I thought Alison was being a good blogger for asking for people’s opinions about two different sides of an issue. who cares if she doesn’t like carrie? if that’s true, its really refreshing from the one’s who seem to be worshiping her.
Kevin says:
Maybe you’re right. But so am I.
Kate says:
RedMaZ
“..part of being in show business”, that sounds interesting. What do you in show business, if you don’t mind my asking?
Kim says:
sometimes I think when a song or an artist doesn’t fit into the industry defined idea of a genre, they shovel them into the pop music category. when really the artist fits into a division of a music genre by the elements of their music, but the industry they fit into doesn’t claim them as part of their genre. so they become pop because they are popular, but the music doesn’t fit into a blatantly obvious genre.
You could argue that pop is a genre that evolved out of popular culture and their treatment of music so that now people intentionally create music for the popular concept of music.
or you could argue like Red. either way, you like it or you don’t.
RedMaZ says:
As long as you use it as plural, “genres” you’re right. It’s not one single genre of music as many people seem to think it is. Just as Americana is not one single genre either. It consists of many including, Country, Rock, Blues, Bluegrass, Folk. All this music stuff is really simple once people figure this out. It all becomes crystal clear.
Kim says:
did that make any sense at all…? lol
Kevin says:
No, Im right no matter how I use it.
Kim says:
i see it did. precisely Red. that was the perfect continuation of what I said. That is what i meant.
Thanks!
Kevin says:
Like Ive said many times. Music is music to me and truly thats all it should be to anybody. Unless you choose to seperate it for the sake of starting arguments. Music is made of songs that all sound different. You either like a song or you dont. It IS that simple.
Kim says:
I said that too. labels and categories have their place as well, and it is important to some. and who doesn’t love a good debate?
Nicole says:
I believe that any negative aspect of this article was completely false.. I have seen Carrie live 7 times.. 3 this year alone and 2 of them being her headlining tour. Each time I have seen her I have been more and more impressed, and I think this goes for 90% of the people that go to her shows. The other 10% probably don’t want to be there to begin with. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I lose respect for people that give negative feedback because that may change a first time “Carrie concert goer’s” opinion of wanting to go to a show. I have never been less than amazed by one of her shows and despite any negative article, I believe a fan should go see her live to make their own opinion, because CMA awards and YouTube videos still don’t do her justice
lauren says:
Deb, i would have to disagree a little. Sometimes on taylors blogs her fans mention carrie and if you havent seen that then theres something wrong. they DO have some negative things to say about her and bring her up in the conversation when it is supposed to be about taylor.
christina says:
if you dont like carrie and your blogging about her i find this funny. carrie is obviously doing something right to be getting your attention!!haha…she is an amazing artist and i respect her a lot. she’s worked really hard to seperate herself from the tv show and proove that she is worth it being in country, yet she still stays humble and thanks american idol every chance she gets, she knows that without that show without her fans she wouldn’t be able to do what she loves every night, she is very appreciative and i respect the fact that she hasnt forgotten her roots, she has prooved that she is not a reality tv show contestant but shes the real deal. she deserves the awards the acknowledgements from her peers im so proud of her accomplishments. she’s such a good person to look up to follow your dreams and it can happen with alot of hard work and determination i admire that from her no matter what people say she keeps on going. i find alot of people here posting are rude and have a hard time giving her the credits she deserves they dont think much of her and i dont know why?? her fans and probably carrie dont really care we love her so much…and if you dont like her it sounds like a personal problem but why waste your time and blog about someone you dont like?? i never understood that, although i respect everyones opinion i find the negative people pretty silly, i think you all that are negative just want to stir up people’s reaction for those that do love her…well do as you please but theres nothing you all can do about it carrie is so successfull and so talented i doubt she thinks about you guys!! by the way people shouldnt hate on taylor she’s carrie’s and kellie’s friend and i think she’s pretty good and for being young she has a good head on her shoulders…i’m just not a fan…obviously im a carrie fan!! “DEB” you shouldn’t stereo type people and say all carrie fans are a certain way because thats being ignorant and it just shows what type of person you are…no wonder you have a problem with carebear. seriously grow up.
bella says:
“hi kate well said”…i couldn’t agree with you more…so wonderfully put.i think when theres someone so talented and they keep on winning and gain more and more success carrie just like shania(more shania) will get bashed….when there are people so great like these ladies all the negative people come out…i dont respect people who put people down you dont have to like them obviously thats the person preference but at least acknowledge when credit is due…in 3 yrs everything she’s accomplished is really unbelievable all of her hard work has paid off…although some complain about her concerts not being entertaining enough give the girl a break she is learning and has been improving every year i’ve been to 3 of her concerts and she definitely is getting better and better i think a lot of your expecations are too high and are very critical about her shows, what do you want her to do walk around with a snake on her neck ?? dance?? geeze what are all of you talking about……my perspective of carrie is that she puts on a very good show you leave feeling satisfied she is so talented of an artist who not only sings but plays the guitar she interacts with her fans, she sings her butt off and when she does its beautifull…i really hate the negative bloggers but then again it doesnt matter its not going to stop carrie….she’s such a big star this makes me support her even more because i know theres so many people out here who want her to fail seriously you people have issues….carrie underwood is the best
Sean says:
I am a huge Carrie fan…always have been. I grew up “country” and returned to country music as an adult because Carrie captivated me on idol. I will be HONEST and say that I was very “overprotective” of Carrie in the beginning. When I saw Taylor Swift emerge, I feared that Carrie was going to be pushed aside for the next “big thing”. Then, I found myself loving some of Taylor’s songs on the radio. Then, I started to notice that Carrie was taking strides in country music that I always hoped for. Clearly, both artists can coexist and be successful in their own unique ways. I would bash Taylor to friends and family in the beginning. I have changed my ways because it is clear to me that Carrie will get the long career that she deserves. I just don’t know how to explain it…Idol got me good when they threw Carrie in my face. I sometimes feel like I’m obsessed…but when it comes down to it…Carrie’s voice and music move me. Bottom line. Few artists give me chills the way she does. That’s why I try to see her live as much as I can!
shelbyy says:
OMG people I’m confused…….WHY ARE YOU EVEN READING THIS IF YOU DON’T LIKE CARRIE?!?!?!?!?! You’re just waisting your time…..I’ve never really gotten why people blog on artists’ stories just to bash them that’s sooooo stupid and immature!!!!!!!!!! Apperently most haters have no life cause they could me supporting an artist they like instead of driving fans of another one crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!
Carrie Marie Underwood is amazing. Period.
If you don’t have anything nice to say….don’t say nothing at all [:

Carrie is touched by the hand of God and in turn blesses us all that is why she will always be number one for me.
samanth says:
i also dont understand why people post negative comments about an artist they dislike…it doesnt make sense why they go to the trouble and go to a carrie site to blog about her…my only conclusion for this is there just being troublemakers and want the carrie fans to get mad, or they know carrie is so talented and amazing that they try to find something wrong with her…hmmmmm “Shelby” i’m with you i’m confused maybe they just dont have a life!…they are so silly…(i can call them names far worse but i wont sink to their level)…anyway fans carrie is amazing i have been to her shows about 4 times and i really recommend if you haven’t already seen her go and check her out for yourself!! believe me she is soooooo worth it, she will touch your heart shes that good!! fans ignore these negative bloggers it doesnt matter they can talk all the crap they want about carrie it doesnt change the fact that carrie underwood will be here in country for a very long time it doesnt change her success and all of her accomplishments and the continuous things she will do in the future…in this industry…so live with it!!…i think carrie wouldn’t care about the people that dont like her she only appreciates her fans…and we will continue to support her…shes the best and in my opinion there aint no better…hate her all you want who cares…because carrie is only going to get bigger ….i love her!!
Abby says:
I did not go to this concert but i did see her in Ontraio at the beginning of novemeber. She puts on the most amazing show i have ever seen. When i read the review from her oakland show i was soooo suprised that they would write something like that. i have heard so many good things about her from other shows and i know she desirves a better review than that one.
samanth says:
i’ve been to a carrie underwood concert recently in early november and my review from what i saw and from what i heard was she is “incredible” ;)…theres really nothing more touching then to hear carrie sing and the emotion from her voice literally gives you chills…not a lot of people do that to me but she does…also being in the same room with carrie is so friendly she seems like the girl next door the girl i wouldn’t mind hanging out with only thing she doesnt look like the girl next door she is so super beautifull i dont think she realizes how beautifull she is…honestly i think anyone looking to hear some good music fun and yes it was “entertaining” for those that oppose…i recommend you go and see for yourself…carrie underwood is growing and learning the ropes in this industry for three years just under her belt…i couldnt ask for more…she is well on her way if not already for super stardom and i know carrie is one serious artist/musician well respected and one who will have a long career…i think people just want to pick and pick at her…it’s obvious why they do…because she is just that good of an artist they cant believe she is just that amazing….so they try to bring her down…honestly the more attention carrie gets the more people talk about her whether its good and bad just makes her more popular…and its better to be the topic of something then none at all…and become a has been like alot of other musicians out there…and at least its about the music not about personal tabloid crap…when your at the top theres those that love you and those that bring you down or “try”…theres no stopping carrie end of story. she has made it and made it BIG. :)

I’m shocked this question is even being asked. The critic that said the songs didn’t connect with the crowd obviliously has rocks for brains and Ice for a heart. Carrie absoultely connects with crowd and sings songs that are real and come from the heart. Did the critic not hear Carrie sing “Just a Dream”, “So Small”, “Jesus take the Wheel”, ” Don’t Forget to Remember Me” or does he really have a heart made of Ice because you would have to, to not be moved by those songs and to not relize that they have a major impact on people. Not to mention when she sings “All American Girl” she brings a little girl on the stage to sing with her, that would make any childs day. Carrie has the best voice in music today, she has an amazing range and vocal control and the voice of a true angel. She has been on tour for nearly a year (since feb.) all of the shows have been sell outs, the tour was suppose to end in july but there was a high demand from fans for more concerts so its been extended to december. Now how is that not connecting with the fans? how is preforming to over one million ppl not connect? Carrie knows how to put on a concert, cares about the fans, and is an amazing preformer end of story! So Mr. Stick in the mud is wrong.
shelbyy says:

Allison, the bad review that you were talking about is out of the norm or the pattern of great reviews of Carrie was getting in all the cities all over the United States and Carrie got 100% great reviews in Canada. If you cancel the lowest score and cancel the highest score, Carrie Underwood will get a “Summa Cum Laude” Honor in her “Carnival Ride II” Live Concert Tour. The reviewer praised Carrie using the facts which she can not have a negative spin because she will look very bad and in order to convince us that she is a neutral reviewer. Then she chose the subjective ones to have a negative spin so that she will have a scapegoat. Clearly this reviewer is a fan of another vocalist, like you, Allison, as a fan of Taylor Swift.
Let us stop dancing around the obvious…Carrie Underwood is the most gifted vocalist in the country charts and “HISTORY IS BEING MADE EVERY TIME CARRIE SINGS”…Carrie can sing rock, pop and country as a classic vocalist… Carrie got 3 CMA Female Vocalist of the Year Award…STANDING OVATION in her performance of “Just A Dream” at the CMA Awards…Won 42 awards out of 63 nominations including Single of the Year and Song of the Year in CMA, ACM, Grammys, American Music Awards etc. If that is not enough Carrie already sold 9 million+ albums and still increasing and got almost all sold out crowd in every cities with the exception of the very few - THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES!!!
bresenolouie says:
I will just add the following superb performances:
“The Sound Of Music” of Julie Andrews at Movies Rock, the only country vocalist who performed at Movies Rock.
“Praying For Time” of George Michael at Idol Gives Back 2008.
“I’ll Stand By You” of The Pretenders and “She’s Leaving Home” of The Beattles at the Finale of Season 6 American I dol Show.
“Stand By Your Man” of Tammy Wynette at the Grand Ole Opry.
“San Antonio Rose” of Bob Wills & The Texas Playboys at Grammys 2007.
“Desperado” and “Life In The Fast Lane” of the Eagles at Grammys 2007.
“The rocking version of Before He Cheats with bluesy rock ending” at Grammys 2008.
“Go Your Own Way” with Fleedwood Mac at the Fashion Rock.
“Last Christmas” of WHAM(George Michael) and “O Holy Night” at Christmas At Washington with President George Bush and First Lady Laura Bush.
“Paradise City” of Guns N Roses - Carrie has a tremendous amount of lung power in these performances and her gorgeous vocals with “vibrato” soared. Axl Rose will be very proud!!!
AND MANY MORE…
AND THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES, TOO…

“bresenolouie”-…” she rocks right!!” 3 years ago she was a regular person and 3years later….with all of her awards and grammy’s she’s been acknowledged for, her induction in the opry, her unbelievable record sales, her hosting the cma’s, plus her tours this year one miilion…”wow”…impressive…carrie is too great for her own good…thats why all these people who are so negative can’t stand her…she’s one of country’s best she has the whole package, beauty, brains, talent, and she’s kind, it’s nice to see someone so deserving receive all the success as she does…she kicks butt at her concerts and she really cares about us, her fans and if she didn’t just like brenolouie said she wouldnt have expanded her tour to connect with us…carrie underwood is a huge star in just a little of 3 years i think she is well on her way of making this a permanent (if not already)career in country…i went to a concert so i can say from my perspective…she is crazy ridiculously talented her voice is so soothing and those high notes how does she do it it’s incredible…she blows me away, she talks to her fans you really see that carrie is so normal funny girl, and the crowd is so loud everyone knows her songs!! its so amazing…i recommend any fan or non fan to go and if your not a fan after the show you will be…carrie underwood brought me here into country because of her i am a follower now of the genre….my respects go all to carrie…and im so happy she’s made a permanent home here in country…she is to great for her own good.

if you havent been to a carrie underwood show…you should go and check her out trust me you will be blown away…she is just that incredible…no joke. you want to hear someone with talent and be entertained carrie is the one who will do that…judge for yourself and it doesnt matter what people who are negative say…there looking to put her down because for some reason they cant give any credit to an artist who is a true artist/musician..they just want to pick at her…why who knows?? everyone has an opinion but no one can deny that carrie’s talented and her success prooves more positive then negative…shes worked so hard…to proove herself…and is very respected by alot of people in show biz……i for one cant believe how much carrie has grown into her own from when she started on american idol you really see the growth progression…its only been 3yrs and she’s achieved a lot…shes only going to get better because she’s growing and is huge her future looks very bright…i am so proud of her she is the best i’ve ever heard and i will follow her thru her whole career because she will be for a long time those that dont like her, she’s not here to please you she’s here for those that love her and are touched by her angelic vocals and persona….she loves her fans…it’s nice to see that carrie has the most amazing loyal fans ever…what can i say she’s amazing so she attracts the same type of people….who follow her im proud to be a fan…carrie is beautifull inside and out!!!!!
bresenolouie says:
I strongly agree, “italia” and “mariah”!!!
The special effects, laser beams and staging is superb!!! Carrie’s tremendous gorgeous vocal is technically skilled, with “vibrato”, and soared in all the songs that she performed. Man…it’s like I was watching the concert of the “Eagles”, “Guns N Roses”, “Celine Dion” and “Martina McBride” put into one. It was “HEAVEN”!!!

hi carrie fans :) i am a carrie fan too, i love reading all the support…i think carrie has some real awesome amazing loyal supporters out there just like what “mariah” said! and i think carrie knows it too!! i met her at a meet and greet once and she was soooooo nice to me and to everyone there! you can tell she was so sincere with gratitude and appreciation that we have her back…f.y.i.-she is soooooooooo beautifull it’s should be a sin to look like her :) …..
for the ones that don’t like her i respect that everyone’s preference is going to be different and she may not appeal to you…the way she does to her fans… however i disagree with a lot of you who say carrie isn’t entertaining ????huh??? i assume most of you have been to her concerts correct?? because i dont know what your perspective is of entertainment because the carrie concert that i went to was very much the concert i expected it to be and better she put on a very good show she was very connected with us, charming and the crowd was so loud singing with her…sometimes i couldnt even hear her!!…so if you expected britney spears dancing with snakes and climbing on poles…for your entertainment you came to the wrong concert. for the most part the people that do go see her are usually her fans so if you went already with a negative attitude then probably it was your negativity that didnt allow you people to enjoy yourselves i assume…i just really am confused why on earth you guys are so interested in her enough to come here and post about her…if you hate her…could it be perhaps you all know carrie is gifted with and amazing God given talent that no one can take away from that fact so you guys have to “find” something wrong??? i think that whether you love or hate her she has her feet solid in the ground with her career there is going to be a lot of carrie underwood in the future she’s an asset to country music… so really your wasting your time…your hating is useless because it doesnt take away the things she has accomplished and will accomplish…for many more years…her star is so bright…she doesnt do this everyday for you who dont like her she does it because one.she loves to sing and loves her career. two. her “fans”…we are the ones supporting her and will continue to do so no matter what…carrie underwood you all better get used to that name!!

Bryan Garten says:
Whoa, CIRCLE THE WAGONS.
Hey this girl is great! Period!
Any critic of hers is either jealous, or lacks appreciation for wonderful, powerful, vocal projections that can fill an auditorium, not unlike a great symphony!
She has a pure, serene, sweetness in her voice also that can lullaby a baby to sleep. Have you heard her new Christmas song? It is amazing!
Bryan Garten says:
Guzzi Bella Babydoll.
We all know your good.
Keep singing them, we’ll all keep listening.
P.S. You would be excellent with my first song!
It is a masterpiece, lol, kinda Country Gospel/Orchestra!
Baby, it will go to number UNO !

I live in the Bay Area.I went to the November 15 Carrie Underwood Little Big Town Show in Oakland. It was unbelievable,so amazing.I was in a luxury suite and i think everyone felt a connection with her and was in awe of her performance. It was energetic, fun, and just an overall blast for anyone who showed up.Her talent is amazing beyond description.I read all the reviews in all the Bay Area Newspapers and News websites and I have to agree with Kim’s first comment from above. The Chronicle was very tough on Carrie. The very end of the article said - “It is truly amazing how far you can go in this country with a little talent. It doesn’t even matter how little.” and “She can put an electric bolt through a song with one of her trademark, piercing notes - the kind of top-note showboating talent…”Both were very wrong. The people who wrote that stuff must not have been to the show.Everyone who went agrees that it was awesome.

I’ve seen Carrie Underwood live twice. You can’t possibly compare her to Taylor Swift, because she is so much better. I’ve seen Taylor live as well.
I’m both a Carrie and a Taylor fan. Live Taylor is energetic, but I don’t see how she can headline. She was perfect to get the crowd ready for Rascal Flatts. She opened for them on tour. Yes, she does the banging of the drums and whatnot, but all of my friends who have seen her live are convinced she does these things because she doesn’t really have an amazing ‘wow’ vocal talent live. She doesn’t lip, but she doesn’t sound great. You can tell a lot of fixing up is done for her album. I’m not bashing taylor, i love both of her albums…I’m just giving the truth.
Carrie doesn’t need to do anything. Her vocal talent outshines any act she could put on. She sounds BETTER live than on her CD!!!! And she did pull a little girl out of the audience to sing All American Girl to. Carrie also involved the audience by changing her lyrics in one song to, “Oh there’s no place like good ol’ Tampa” Carrie has a different more classy way of getting people from ages 3 to 83 involved. I noticed at her concert people were of all ages. Taylor’s concert mostly has teenage girls and 20 something guys. Carrie is a natural on stage. She’s not going anywhere. Simon Cowell was a genius when he predicted her to win idol. If I had heard her live during the “Idol” days, I think I would have predicted the same thing. You can not deny her vocal ability is on a higher level than Taylor’s.
Therefore, Taylor is good at what she does. She need to do exciting things to get the crowd going because her vocal talent alone can’t make people leave happy. Carrie could sing the alphabet live and every person would walk out of the show with a smile on their face. In Tampa, I didn’t see one person leave her concert who didn’t look ‘wowed” Taylor’s concert people had forgotten her performance as soon as Rascal Flatts took the stage.
I think the loyal Taylor fans will enjoy her concert more because they are just that loyal taylor fans. Loyal Carrie fans will enjoy Carrie’s concert more.
Let’s put it this way: they both have good country talent. One is an amazing writer, one is an amazing singer. I don’t see both fading out of the spotlight anytime soon.

Why does country music singer who is supposed to act like an angel turn out to be so mean and nasty? Who uses their fans as a way just to get more money without even caring
about how hard it is to earn the money tog earn heing o to a concert as it is for some people…what a waste of $50.
Lot of bad attitude…don’t sing it if you don’t live it.
