George Strait for President, Says a CMT Poll

Now here's some politics I can enjoy. If you're like me, you're pretty much sick of all the campaigning for President, so a fun take on it is a welcome relief. In a poll conducted by CMT, people were asked which country artist would be their choice for President of the United States. George Strait was picked as the best fit with 23 percent of the vote, followed closely by Reba McEntire with 22 percent.

Reba was also picked as the best Vice Presidential candidate for both Barack Obama and John McCain. Trace Adkins and Alan Jackson tied for third with 14 percent while Brad Paisley and Kenny Chesney brought in 6 percent to tie for forth. Carrie Underwood came in fifth with 5 percent. Rounding out the field was Keith Urban with 4 percent of the vote and Alison Krauss, Rascal Flatts' Gary LeVox, Martina McBride and Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles all tied with 2 percent. Not bad choices at all. I'm sure Strait would make a President that people could look up to -- and it would be cool to have an America where diplomacy involves a song written personally for the Commander in Chief. But don't blame me if it all goes wrong ... I voted for Willie.

I’d vote for George Strait.

But it’s interesting that they even had Keith Urban as a choice - he’d have a tough time getting on the ballot considering he was born in New Zealand. Either folks don’t know our election laws, or Keith’s just gotten so popular that folks have forgotten he’s not a Yank.

Reba is the best overall, way to go to REBA with 22%, just 1 percent behind George. We love our Queen and our KING-REBA AND GEORGE ALL THE WAY!

You do realize that Reba is the main person behind the proposed performance tax legislation that would essentially eliminate small-town radio? I like Reba as an artist and a person, but I’d like to keep my job, thank you. Vote NO on Reba.

YES!!! George Strait for President and Reba for Vice the world would be in a better place,I wish that CMT would do a whole day or weekend or even a week of George Strait,of all his songs and friends and family he is a good guy that I like to hear more often on the tv and radios…
