Nicole Kidman on Keith Urban

Posted: October 7th, 2008 at 4:37 pm  |  By: Alison Bonaguro

Keith Urban and Nicole KidmanThe November issue of Elle magazine is all about Nicole Kidman. And Nicole Kidman’s all about Keith Urban. Maybe it’s just that newlywed bliss or her postpartum euphoria, but she gushes about him and the life they’ve made together. Like how he’s the greatest man besides her father and how he’s a soul-searcher and very private. And how their life in Tennessee is a simple form of living, and that there’s safety in that. Best of all, she has so much insight on the kind of love she feels for baby Sunday Rose: “It’s a more painful love. I look at that little girl, and I’m, like, ‘Oh, no, what’s going to happen?’ It’s almost like my heart is stretching; I’m feeling all these muscles stretch with emotion. It’s a beautiful love, but there’s a lot of fear and pain for her life.” Could there be another country songwriter in the Urban-Kidman household now?

Comparing Keith to her father? Her father let her go off when she was a minor and live with a grown man in Amsterdam. I think she spoke more highly of Tom Cruise. Painful love? How is loving a baby painful? What is she talking about?

Miller, you’ll have to read the entire article.

    1) Why SHOULDN’T she call Keith the greatest man she’s ever met besides her father?

    2) Her love for her children is absolute, and when you have kids, and you see the dangers and problems in the world, you worry for them - that’s what makes it painful.

    3) Her ex is in her past. She’s moved forward with her life and the article makes that patently clear. She’s moved on. Let’s all join her and let her past be her past. Her future w/ Keith is where she’s headed now.

Why is it that we schlubs are all supposed to “move on” after a break up, but celebs keep having their past thrown into their face with suspicion and ridicule? We’re allowed to change, but they’re not?

God Bless Keith, Nicole and Sunday.

You said it Ms. Feathers! The media are the ones who won’t leave Tom Cruise out of the equation for Nicole, but I do wish she would end it at this and go on and say enough is enough even though I know she’s tied to him with having their children. Miller, what’s the problem you constantly have with Keith and/or Nicole? You almost sound obsessed with dislike for them. Get a gripe!

Also having a child this day and time is very scary to me. What’s the future ahead looking like for all our children…not like it use to be, that’s for sure!

LOL Glenda - he’s already GOT a “gripe” - he needs to get a GRIP! (love your freudian slip!)

Personally, I have great hope for my children, but then I don’t find that hope in this fallen and changing world.

Speaking of freudian slips… there’s a big one in the title of this blog post… ;-)

NICOLE was the one who brought up Tom. She always brings him up. Tom is not in her past at all. I guess her saying Keith is the greatest man besides her father isn’t so unusual for her considering the kind of men and activities she’s been involved with.
Get a gripe? HAHA Get a dictionary.

Miller, if you read the ENTIRE article, it’s patently clear that the INTERVIEWER brings these things up, but doesn’t mention her questions in the article.

Nic deserves kudos for being mature and polite about her past and her ex - for the sake of her children. The same cannot be said for the ex.

Also, in the article are some some great quotes from Lauren Bacall and Shirley McClain. McClain’s quote about TC is worth the price of the magazine.

Nicole’s wonderful descriptions of Keith are worth paying double for the magazine.

I totally understand what Nicole is saying. My children are 17 and 19 yrs old and I still feel pain in my heart for them at times. I think it’s a normal reaction of a parent to worry about how our kids are going to afford to buy a home, are they going to have affordable healthcare, have a job that they love and pays enough to live comfortably, are they going to be healthy, etc. And don’t many women look up to their fathers? I think we often look for a man to marry who shares many of the same qualities as our father.
I have a lot of respect for Nicole in the way she has never put TC down. I wish more ex’s would behave as maturely as Nicole.

I personally wish Keith Urban had never met Nicole Kidman. I think she has had a horrible effect on his career and I get the feeling she keeps her thumb right on him therefore, not allowing him to be himself.

  • Ms. Feathers says:

    Diane -
She doesn’t allow him to be himself?? Have you BEEN to a concert this year? Holy Moly! The man is the most INCREDIBLE version of himself I’ve ever seen!

Or would you rather him be his “former” self, where he didn’t know who he was offstage and still struggled with alcohol and wasn’t fulfilled in a relationship, and was still “AVAILABLE” to single women….

I doubt Keith would ever want to go back to the self he was before Nicole. Every article, interview, etc, point to the fact that these two are devoted, unconditionally in love, care deeply for each other, and are happier than they ever imagined they could be. You’d want Keith to give all that up??

    Really???

You know nobody ever mentions how Nicole stood by Keith when he relapsed. Then there were the alligations that he had an affair. She stood by him and I think that shows what a wonderful women she is. As for saying there are things she’s been involved with in the past, I have never ever heard of her behaving badly. She’s a true lady!!!! I hope they have a long and happy marriage.

She was smart enough to have him sign a prenuptial agreement. Way to go Nic! Let him keep his guitar. Now go catch a few rays.

HaHa Miller, you are so smart, but I still say obsessed! Guess you’ve never spelled anything incorrectly! You still seem like a miserable, negative person no matter how you spell it!

I think Nicole is a classy lady and I’m proud for her and Keith and hope they have a full lifetime together.

Yeah, Miller, and how do you even know that Nicole went to Amsterdam with an older man when she was young? Only a big Nicole Kidman fan would know that.

No one really knows about what goes on between them. It’s all PR and spin. And people know things because they can read, not because they are a fan.

Dad is still the person she worships, what’s wrong with that? She’s known him for 41 years.
Keep building your relationship stonger Nicole, Keith and baby Sunday Rose. That’s all they need.

Why do people feel the need to be sarcastic and cut up people? It does not show brilliance, just the opposite.
Have you ever met Keith and Nicole? Have you been to Keith’s concerts? I don’t understand how people reporting “news” and making comments can’t keep it to the facts and leave out their opinion when they don’t even know the people involved.
If you are that negative, it is a good thing your life isn’t under the microscope!

Keith is an awesome performer. What do you mean sign a pre-nup? I’m sure he is well-off himself!! That was a really absurd comment. I just wish people would quit voting for Kenny Chesney as Entertainer of the year. Please, Keith out performs him by a long shot!!!!!!!!!!1

I think that the euphoria & pain that Ms. Kidman feels for her baby is great and it’s true-if you are entirely honest with yourself and you’re a mom & wife these are somethings that worry and pull at you. You want the very best for your children and at times that can be painful! I have had four children, which are now 23, 20, 15, & 5 yrs. Those feelings never go away and you know you have a full heart for those babies no matter how old they get!

I fell in love with Keith Urban the first time I heard his song “You’ll think of me” and when I saw the video for it I was blown away. All his song and videos are awesome. Two great videos are Raining On Sunday and Making Memories of us. He is the very best
