Dolly Parton: Just Like Palin?
Leave it to Dolly Parton to find something in common with the governor of Alaska. In an interview with Extra that airs Friday (Oct. 3), Parton said, "I can relate to Sarah Palin. I always say we're very much alike. Both small town girls. Both [sic] a Pentecostalism, and we both carry an AK-47." I'm not so sure a country legend and an Alaskan governor are really bearing Russian assault rifles, no matter how pro-NRA Palin is. And I don't know how truly Pentecostal Palin is anymore. But the important thing is, Parton has proven that she can connect with anyone.

I know Dolly and I know that she is not like Palin, especially when it comes to the gay issue. Dolly has many gay friends and family and I happen to be one of the gay family members.

I wouldn’t analyze Dolly’s statements on Meet the Pre-I mean Extra. She’s being light-hearted. You know her so well, you should realize that.

i think you’re making a huge assumption when you infer that Palin doesn’t have many gay friends an family members.
i think you’re one of the many members of the gay community that assume all christians hate gays. i’m pretty familiar with both groups and i’ve found more gays that hate christians than christians that hate gays.

Sarah Palin’s best friend is a gay lesbian. I heard her say in an interview not too long ago.
