Let Carrie Underwood Put Baby to Bed

Posted: September 30th, 2008 at 4:45 pm  |  By: Alison Bonaguro

Carrie Underwood Artist PageWhen I heard that Carrie Underwood songs were being turned into lullabies, I thought the world had gone mad. What baby wants to hear about the vandalistic revenge of an ex-girlfriend? Or a near-death experience on a slippery patch of ice? I couldn't think of a less soothing way to tuck a little baby in at night. Then I read a little more and realized that these Underwood lullabies would just be instrumental, with a combination of fiddle, steel, banjo, Dobro and, of course, the glockenspiel. That makes way more sense, and actually sounds kind of nice.

I think it is cute too! I agree when I first heard of this lullaby album, I laughed because of Before He Cheats and Last Name… not exactly lullaby material. lol But they use So Small I think…and some of her other songs are very pretty and soothing, like Wheel of the World, You Won’t Find This, etc.

    nice idea either way.

Alison, If you get a chance, check out “CMH Records”. They distribute a vast cataloge of instumental CD’s featuring probably hundreds of artists in nearly every genre. It’s called the “Pickin’ On” Series, and it features the top shelf Bluegrass pickers of today. Including, but by no means limited to “Pickin’ On Carrie Underwood. As a matter of fact these Bluegrassers are “Pickin’ On Areosmith to ZZ Top, and everyone in between. Some of it’s very interesting, and very cool. Check it when you can, and let me know what you think.

I think that would a very very bad idea your child falling asleep to the sound of before he cheats, thats just not right. and Iam going to be a grandma I would never buy this her voice is not a calming at all she screams in alot of her songs to try and reach a higher note.

Carrie can sing twenty-four hours, seven days a week and it still wouldn’t be enough for me! This amazing, beautiful woman is my idol and I would love to meet her in person after concert in Madison on December 4,2008. Love to see a new album of this lady.

Uhmmmm Luck you might want to read about the cd. It is not Carrie singing the tunes. They are just musical versions of her songs no singing. I have heard So Small and it is quite beautiful and peaceful.

And for the record Carrie does not scream.Take your hatred elsewhere.

don I no that she does not sing on it but it is still her songs without the words. and yes I did hear that song it was not a good song to put a child or anyone to except maybe that it is BORING!!!

Why was “Before He Cheats” even mentioned? It’s a well known fact Carrie has recorded so many soothing, beautiful songs, I find it insulting BHC was even named. We all know Carrie is not like that, she records the songs for fun. And Alison, please get your facts right before you type. You must be completely oblivious if you think “So Small” is about falling on a patch of ice. It’s about letting the little things go in life and realizing “love is all that matters after all, it sure makes everything else seem so small.”

And, for the record, Carrie does not scream. She sounds exactly like her albums, and frankly she’s the only person I’ve ever heard live who is ALWAYS better than on the album.

carrie is full of herself and yes she does sing off key alot I have seen her before not so good. I heard from alot of my family friends that they thought the same as me. so I think you c. fans should open up your ears!! that is all!

couldnt agree with you more dusty. i had to leave the arena earlier this year with her squealling. i didn’t come back until the headliner came on stage (she was sort of bearable outside the arena) her agenda is to smash the windows, lights, eardrums and anything else breakable in the venue. she was horribe! i would let he sing my kid to sleep, although instrumentals of her songs certainly would be anyone to sleep. all of her songs are absolutely boring and sound the same.

I think Dusty and What should be a couple since they don’t seem to know anything! Anyone who has anything bad to say about Carrie must not even like themselves! Must be really jealous because she is so beautiful and is an amazing singer! GET OVER IT!
