Tim McGraw and Kid Rock: Out All Night

Posted: September 29th, 2008 at 11:08 am  |  By: Alison Bonaguro

Tim McGrawThe only thing cooler than hearing a country artist tell stories about an all-night jam session is hearing him tell you that it all went down at Kid Rock's house. On CMT Country Countdown USA, host Lon Helton had both sides of the story: Kid Rock's live one and then a previously-recorded version from McGraw. And they both corroborate the details: After a McGraw show in Detroit, they loaded up the bus and went over to Rock's home to "attack the studio" -- whatever that means -- until about 5 a.m. Rock paints a picture of him on drums and McGraw on piano and friends drinking cold ones to create memories that will last a lifetime.

Khloe, are you prophetic? Do you mean to tell me people can’t hang with other drinkers without drinking themselves or getting drunk? I used to go to bars for the music and watch line dancing. I nursed 7 Up’s, or once in a great while, had a wine flip (wine w/7-Up). People all around me were drunk as skunks, not me- I had more fun watching THEM making an ass out of themselves.

Were you there with Tim & Kid Rock? Probably not, so I wouldn’t be talking or judging something you know nothing about. You sound like Faith has him on a ball & chain. Get real, and get a life. My hubby has bowling nite with the guys- it gives ME some peace & quiet to read or journal, or do whatever I want.

PS, I am NOT A Kid Rock fan so I am not defending him. Personally, I don’t think he has a place in country, but that’s another blog.

Those of you who say they don’t like or care for kid rock’s music, that’s a bunch of ****,because you know you sing his catchy toons when there on the radio and you country hillbillies loved the song picture which was number #1 for weeks on weeks. Just admit it Kid Rock is the best thing out there in the music world today so deal with it. If you didn’t like what I had too say please feel free to e-mail me back and tell me that I ain’t right. KID ROCK IS THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME AND STILL ROLLING STRONG,THE ROCK N ROLL JESUS. AMEN TO THAT.

Wow, such experts on how the Hill-McGraw marriage is going. Are you their personal assistant/counselors? Some people just can’t stand that others are happy & well adjusted. Did YOUR marriage go sour, or do you simply have a cynical view on marriage and life? Maybe you need to go GET A LIFE and quit worrying about how others are doing in theirs.

Wait a minute, since when is the McGraw marriage up in the air? Has there been some new development that I missed. I always thought they seemed like a great couple. Of course I don’t see what goes on behind closed doors and I’m sure you don’t either. To comment on someones marriage like that is just plain rude!!!!! Plus I’m sure Kid doesn’t have half naked women around him all the time. That’s ridiculous!!!!! Are you at his house often to know this for fact? Maybe the McGraws have something your relationship is in need of, TRUST!!!!! countryfan11 was right on with her comments. Just because you’re out without your spouse doesn’t mean you’re cheating or up to no good!!!! I wish people would start thinking before throwing out these crazy insinuations!!!!!

Countryfan11, didn’t see your post until mine went up. It’s nice to see their are others out there who think some of these comments are just ridiculous and plain mean in spirit!!!!!

Thanks Rosebud, I just don’t understand the need some people have to run others down when in fact, they know NOTHING! I am wondering if they are the same that actually BELIEVE everything they read in The Enquirer, The Star, and all the crap rag mags that dot the checkout counters at the store.

Life is too short. Let’s ENJOY it, and let OTHERS enjoy it too without talking smack about them.

Get it? RUMORS. There are TONS of rumors out there about alot of people. Quit trying to FIND trouble.

  • ROSEBUD says:

    Posted: September 30th, 2008 at 12:33 pm

Well i hope it’s just rumors. These are two people I really respect and I hope they make it. One thing though if someone has strayed, which I’ve never heard that, it just proves they are human like the rest of us. It won’t change my opinion either way. Something I’ve learned in life is when you have something others think they want, people will always try to ruin it. It’s called being jealous and it is the root of all evil!!!!!!

  • countryfan11 says:

    Posted: September 30th, 2008 at 12:47 pm

Me too Rosebud, but I will reserve my judgment until I hear from “reputable” sources. Unlike the others trying to FIND or LOOK for trouble, I’d rather hope the rumors are unfounded and all is well in the McGraw-Hill household. Tim & Faith are like any other couple & even IF trouble was rumbling, they’d still have a chance to make things good- look at Alan & Denise Jackson for a great example of this.
I say this rumor is more innuendo and less fact.

The thing that I find sad is most people want to believe the worst but those are the people who are miserable. Tim and Faith are a little older than I am but I have always admired their music and their marriage. People give them a are hard time for trying new things but that’s what I respect so much about them. When you see them perform together the way they look at each other is very touching. If that’s an act then they really do belong on the “Big Screen.”lol

Shane, I take it you’re not a doting husband or dad- too bad! Mine is both- and a wonderful grampa to our 13 grandkids too.

  • ROSEBUD says:

    Posted: September 30th, 2008 at 4:13 pm

Shane you know to say someone can only be a doting dad and husband for so long is terrible. I feel sorry for anyone who believes that. Maybe I’m spoiled but my husband and dad have been both. My dad is a doting husband, dad and grandfather. My husband takes the best care of me and our children. If you’ve not had a man in your life to show you that, I’m sorry, but it is possible!!!!!

To CheatinHeart, what exactly is the profile of a serial cheater? I have NEVER heard of Tim cheating, not even a hit. Where are you getting your info? Are you a close friend, a nanny etc… Another thing who said their careers were dwindling down? What are you basing that on?

might want to take the time to research the core of country music…. outlaws !!! Johnny Cash, David Allen Coe, Hank Williams Jr, Willie Nelson, to just touch on a few…all have great respect for the music talent that Kid Rock is….as do the New Country people that you refer to.
I am a fan of true music talent of all genres and Kid Rock is a true talent with amazing knowledge of all music and plays with the best of them from Willie Nelson to Rev Run…..do you really think they go to his studio for women….really people come on

I will admit that I am a hardcore Kid Rock fan, attending numerous of his concerts in the past years, but I also have to add that I love Tim McGraw, and although I have only been to 1 of his concerts,(in chicago) who has the right to judge what these 2 guys do when they are on their own time? They are both awesome performers, and I would love the chance to see them be normal people partying the night away like we all do (or did)at one time.
It seems that these days all everybody is interested in is what dirty laundry they can air about somebody else==take a look in your own back yard before you start gossiping. Although your secrets may not be interesting to anyone, because you are not a star, how would you feel if you were in their place? We all have skeletons in the closet, and fortunatley we do not have the media on our ass all the time reporting what we are doing= if we did, we would only be embarrassed because we could not keep our composure as these celebrities have to do time after time. Peace to Kid Rock and Tim McGraw—I am glad I don’t have to be in their shoes.

Detroit King! I hope that was not a knock on the ROCK GOD,AKA THE ROCK N ROLL JESUS,KID ROCK. People in detroit should track your ass down and beat you for saying such a comment about the ruler of The best Music in the world.Todays music other than Kid Rocks,is like a blurry fog in the night, got me? KID ROCK HAS THE BEST SET OF FOG LIGHTS IN THE MUSIC INDUSTERY, THATS ALL I HAVE TO SAY.

BUTTERFLY, all I need to know is KID ROCK is the AMERICAN OUTLAW that kicks all of your country guys asses. Even Kenny Chesney knows who to hang out with just like Tim McGraw. KID ROCK is here to stay FOREVER.

  • butterfly says:

    Posted: October 1st, 2008 at 10:16 pm

Scott, but if it was not for our original outlaws would the Detroit Daddy even exist ? I think a true fan would pay homage to the origins as does the Rock and Roll Jesus himself

Butterfly don’t get me wrong I am a big fan of all music and by all means I love me some country music, which your statement is so true, thank you for your time.

I concur with you that Kid Rock is here to stay….perhaps a Madonna of sorts…meaning a true icon. I have seen many performers from Neil Diamond to the Stones and nothing compares to my two Kid Rock experiences. He treats his audience with respect and love…he knows who paid for that jet!!

It is offensive to me that people make silly comments based on ignorance and media slop about how a person lives and behaves when we have no right to judge, just buy the music or pass it by

Without music the world would be a sad place.
Thanks to you Scott, a pleasure

In Tims issue of People magazine in June he said he quit drinking. I figured that wouldn’t last long. If these rumors are true. He said he is not a moderate drinker. But I have someone that is very close to me that is the same way. You have to cut ties with people that drink for awhile to stay away from alcohol. And now he is doing the Dierks Bentley concert with a bunch of guys, I don’t see him walking around with a pepsi or water. He is a great husband, father according to Faith so only they knows what is going on. She says they work through bumps in the road and maybe this is one of them. But I wish them the best, they are a great couple and awesome singers.

I must have missed a post or something because the replies above don’t have any bearing on the interview I just heard above. This jam session apparently happened several years ago because Tim references his Dad Tug who passed away a few years back.

Anyone who has participated in Jam Sessions and love music usually do just that . . . hang out, play/sing music and have great fun. I don’t know how some of these posts became twisted unless I’ve missed something. The best to the McGraws!

I forgot to mention . . . the Tim interview was from awhile ago and Lon Helton was playing it back for Kid Rock to comment on. Maybe that’s how the interview was misinterpreted with listeners thinking both Tim and Kid Rock were being interview together now.
