What to Expect From CMT on Tour With Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum

Jason AldeanLast night I went to the tour kickoff party for this year's CMT on Tour and caught a little teaser of what to expect. The idea was for Jason Aldean and Lady Antebellum to each play a preview set, and some very lucky members of their fan clubs got to see it.

Lady A took the Exit/In stage first and right away jumped into their current single, "Lookin' for a Good Time." About halfway through the song they actually transitioned into a cover of AC/DC's "Shook Me all Night Long," and then back to finish up "Good Time." Some people may disagree, but I really like watching a major band play cover songs. That's how everybody gets started and a good cover says a lot about a band's adaptability. Later on they slowed things down with a love song showing off Charles and Hillary's onstage chemistry, which I think will come in oh-so-handy as their career progresses.

Aldean followed them and made it clear that he's ready for the responsibility of headlining the tour. The show looked like it will be full of energy with him jumping off risers, playfully bantering with the crowd and his band and signing autographs during songs. He played "Amarillo Sky," "Johnny Cash," "Laughed Until We Cried," "Why," "Relentless" and an extended version of "Hicktown" that the college towns on this tour are sure to get into. Be on the lookout for Aldean to help out with the drumming duties. It's no Taylor Swift on a trash can, but it's fun.

I wanted to go to this show when it comes to my area but presales for handicap seating ran out for Lady A presales on the first day so now I am going to Flordia for vacation instead of going to this show.

I really enjoy Jasons music and look forward to more. I’d also like to see him in concert if I could find a tour listing.
