Tim McGraw Will Play for Soldiers

Posted: September 10th, 2008 at 3:13 pm  |  By: Alison Bonaguro

Tim McGrawTim McGraw knows when to hold ‘em, and knows when to fold ‘em. He had to postpone his Swampstock music festival in Louisiana because of all the weather woes down south, but now he's going to perform for the troops at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio on 9/11. And he's doing it for free. He told the press he hopes the show gives the soldiers and their families a brief interlude of their duties. I'm sure the 25,000 people they're expecting will be smiling through the whole thing. Until he sings "If You're Reading This." That's when the tears will start.

I sure wish he would go to Iraq. The soldier’s over there need a lot of support. Thanks to All the Other Country Artists who risked their own safety to travel to these Soldiers. Most all of the Artists who went to entertain the Troops overseas have families also.

Thanks for supporting the troops in the states but what about us over here in Afghanistan. We sure could use a Morale booster over here.

I’m either missing it, or CMT doesn’t give you a chance anywhere to speak your mind. How can a company like this be so blind not to realize that many people just like myself are going to come in, see that even though there is a new Movie on that possibly replaced another movie that was on week after week after week, and now you know that you don’t have to tune in for another month or you’ll be seeing the very same program every single night, it’s ridiculous and a pathetic attempt in running a station. If you need more Video’s I’ll damn sure buy you some but stop showing the same ones over and over and over. You’re as bad as the Nancy Grace station, she changes her material every 2 weeks and during that time the shows the same thing every hour on the hour.

My family and I went and saw Tim at Ft. Sam and it was awesome!. The funny thing was that the kids remember Tim from the movie “Flicka”. This was my boys 1st concert and I am so happy that they could experience this with our soldiers and also to see the greatest entertainer ever.
    God Bless you Tim,
    Lots of Love

My son is at Ft. Sam Houston & was also at the concert. He said it was great (called me several times during the show)…not that I would think it wouldn’t be. Much thanks to Tim & everyone who made this concert a very special day for everyone who attended.
