Does Carrie Underwood Need a New "Pal"?
Will these gossip tabloids stop at nothing to create controversy? The latest celebudrama is from OK! magazine's story that Carrie Underwood called Jessica Simpson fat. Please. Like she'd actually say that -- out loud -- to the kind of "pal" who would then go sell the story to a tabloid.
Here's my proof that this "pal" probably doesn't even exist: In this little story, the Carrie Underwood Pal (who henceforth will be referred to as CUP) allegedly said, and I quote, "Carrie doesn't think fans will spend money to watch Jess warble through a few badly-written songs."
Badly written? Really? That's weird. Because guess who wrote most of Simpson's songs. The same exact folks who wrote Underwood's songs. And after the huge success of Underwood's Carnival Ride, I don't think Brett James, Hillary Lindsey, Aimee Mayo, Luke Laird and Chris Lindsey are capable of penning a "badly written-song." So if you like the songs of one, chances are you will like the songs of the other.
Now that I've outted this CUP, doesn't it make everything else she says very suspect? It does to me.
It makes me seriously doubt that Underwood ever called Simpson fat. It makes me wary of her comment about the songs. But more than that, it makes me suspicious of how the editors of these magazines can sleep at night.

RedMaZ says:
It’s called Mainstream Pop Culture. Anything to sell.
Racedriven says:
When you come up with a real true story about Carrie Underwood, let me know, because their is no truth on this story period.
As for Jessica Simpson, her current music video “Come on over” isn’t bad, so here’s some advice, if you like Jessica’s music, listen to it and enjoy it, if you don’t, let it go and move on and that goes for any artist.
Personal, I love listening to Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Garth Brooks and more, jury is still out on Jessica Simpson’s music for me.
flutterfly says:
Well I think all those writers are capable of a “badly written song” but I agree Carrie wouldn’t be dissing her close collaborators and friends.
Anyway Hazel Smith said that Carrie was vacationing in Europe last week. So she probably hasn’t even seen the magazine cover that OK tried using as the hook for its story.
The editors at the mags probably sleep just fine at night, which is sad. It’s also a sad testament to the fact that made up lies like this sell. This stuff would dry up if only there weren’t a market for it. But there’s a market for stories about Carrie Underwood and people like to imagine all sorts of things about her so the tabloids take advantage.
Michelle says:
Carrie is amazing… she would NEVER ever say something like that about someone. She is such a sweet girl. the magazines just wanna sell… and they know putting carrie on the cover will help. Jessica is the one running her mouth on country radio stations.. and carrie isnt saying a thing… therefore, the tabliods have to make stuff up… so something can be said back in return.
lisa hoffman says:
I think she would say ANTHING TO GET MORE PRESS ON HER .she stinks can not stand her and im not the only one !!!!!!! she NOT!!! as good as what she thinks, singers at other concerts BLOW her away, taylor or jessica come to mind besides faith, martina, reba dolly and anyone in country is better than that snob!!!!!!!!!she is so very different than when she won american idol!!
Butthead says:
Please. Carrie wouldn’t give Jessica Simpleton the time of day. Anyone who thinks Jessica’s talent tops Carrie’s is just from some other planet.
Wendy says:
It’s time for the media to stop inventing all this drama. Carrie Underwood is a talented, wonderful woman and would never say anything as disparaging as the garbage these rags print. Why can’t Carrie be left alone to enjoy the successes and achievements for which she has worked so hard? I give Carrie so much credit for not lowering herself to respond to these and other ridiculous rumors. Carrie continues to try to make a positive difference in this world like doing things such as participating in tonight’s Stand Up 2 Cancer Benefit. As they’ve said at the Grand Ole Opry - Carrie is a Legend in the Making!
Holly says:
Best CMT Blog Entry EVER. Thank you so much for posting this and making it aware to more people, besides Carrie’s gigantic fan base, that all of this stuff is a lie!
Lisa Hoffman, if you’re going to present a point to say that the CUP is right, why don’t you try using correct grammar? Even then, your tone sounds as if you care so much about making people realize that Carrie isn’t worth anything. Something tells me that you need a new hobby.
Carrie’s fans have got her back, and it’s apparent to me in most of the replies to this great CMT blog. Thanks for pointing it out! :)
Courtney says:
ok people, heres what i gotta say. i love carrie and like jess. your opion is your opinion. no one wants to hear it or at least i dont. i believe that carrie is a sweetheart and wouldnt say something like that. i believe that she is mature enough to not say things like that and worry about the petty gossip magazines. if people didnt make such a big deal about everything the stars do, the tabloids would say such stupid things.
Courtney says:
also, you people need to GET A LIFE and quit makin people POed because you hate their fave artists. if you dont like them, turn off the tv, radio, change the channel or station and GET OVER IT. its people like you that make me wanna kill myself, because you cant accept other people and their opinions and cant mind your owm fricken business.
Laura says:
I happen to believe it is the media that dreams up all this drama to sell their rag mags. Even IF Carrie doesn’t care for Jessica, she has way too much class to express it out loud. Most of the time, the stars don’t even KNOW they are “at war” with another celeb until THEY read it on the headlines. Some can laugh it off as media blitz, most ignore it altogether. other people just can’t stand to see someone ELSE happy, successful, and being a class act. so they have to INVENT ways to sully a person’s rep to make THEM look good. It’s called “bullying.” I put them on “ignore.”
Laura says:
Lisa, are you 12? What’s with all the childish yelling (CAPS) and exclamation points, name-calling? That kind of behavior is kiddie playground stuff. Be mature. If you don’t like an artist, fine, but it is manic writing such as yours that turns people off from what you are expressing. You prove my point exactly…being, the artists wouldn’t be acting toward one another like you are. It’s spelled “class.”
lisa hoffman says:
NO I am not 12 just think you carrie fans put her so high up like a queen or something. there are alot more people in country music that are much better than her.and sorry Iam not that good of a speeller, at least I can say that.
psycgirl says:
Well they made their point. The got people to read their magazine. Bottom line, MAKE MONEY MAKE MONEY!!!!!
Kyle says:
I am a huge Carrie fan and get so sick of everyone trying to knock her down. She is as awesome a person as she is talented. It kills the tabloids that she doesn’t respond to their garbage. I have followed her since the release of her single JTTW and have both of her CDs and have listened to them several times. She hasn’t changed at all since AI and she never will. That’s why she is as successful as she is. She stays out of the tabloids and just tops the charts. Thanks for the support of Carrie you Carrie fans. On the other hand, Lisa Hoffman, you need to grow up and open your eyes.
Carol says:
Your right. These magazines like to cause trouble and make up anything they can just to sell them. Take for instance Angie and Brad, Jennifer Anniston and more. Carrie would never talk like that about anybody. And the thing about the calls to Romo went way out of control. It’s okay to talk to friends, but they took it out of context. Anyway, that’s my take on the situation.
SJB says:
I’m sure once the tabloid media sees that they don’t get a rise out of Carrie they will move on to something or someone that will help give their stories legs. It is a glorified form of bullying and, like in real life, once the bully sees that they get no where they move on to something else. Oh and yes, Carrie is an up and coming country music queen.
Kyle says:
My problem is I am also a huge Cowboys fan and I can’t diss our QB, but I think Tony could do better than Jessica. But if he’s happy that’s fine. Just so he gets us to SBXLIII.
Laura says:
Tony HAD better than Jessica, he just didn’t recognize her. You know Lisa, as much as I LOVE Carrie, I also LOVE Kellie Pickler, Faith, Martina, JoDee, Wynonna, Reba, Dolly & more. The only exception I hold is toward Taylor. I think she is a GREAT young woman, song writer, role model, very pretty, and sounds good on Radio. However, I have YET to hear her sound good on a LIVE performance, and I am not the only one to express that. Not a slam on Taylor, just observance. Fans are allowed to love more than one performer, and I’m sure other Carrie fans appreciate other artists as well. Choices are personal. I believe Carrie deserves her accolades & awards & she is gracious. Frankly, I don’t see ANY artist as being as backbiting as fans and media. We should be just as gracious in allowing individual tastes and preferences without sniping.
Jill says:
Well said Laura. Agree on the Taylor thing too. Love her but the live preformances she needs to work on. Carrie is so thankful all the time to not only her fans but to people who have helped her along the way. She is a sweetheart.
Kyle-I to am a huge Cowboys fan. Tony and Carrie were a year and a half ago. The media needs to just drop it. Carrie is going to do way better than Romo when she finds her Prince.
Tonys most important job is to get us to the Superbowl. Focus is the key. He can date whoever he wants as long as they are not distraction.
Lisa-Reviews of the JS CD are coming in and its C+ for Entertainment weekly and 2 stars out of 4 for People.com. I don’t think that CD is all that great.
DD CUP says:
I don’t believe Carrie said Jessica is fat and any time the gossip rags quote a mystery source it could be false. They are just trying to keep a non-existant cat fight going. It doesn’t exist on Carrie’s side anyway.
“So if you like the songs of one, chances are you will like the songs of the other.”
Not exactly because doesn’t Carrie get first pick of the best songs from the best songwriters in Nashville, either songs already written or new songs written for her? She has the highest sales and songwriters want to make money so they pitch their best songs to her and a few other top artists first. Jessica co-wrote all but 3 of her new songs and she didn’t co-write any of Carrie’s. Carrie’s songs are better and she’s a better singer so if they wanted to make the article more believeable they should have said “Carrie doesn’t think fans will spend money to watch Jess warble through a few average to good songs with average singing.” I don’t know about Jessica but her professional songwriters are good. You didn’t mention Dolly another of her writers. I love Dolly but she can’t work miracles or change a pop star to country overnight. It’s like when Michael Jordan tried to play baseball. Why did Jessica want to co-write so many songs for her first country album? Did she just want a bunch of co-writer credits? Which was more important the songs or the credits? It takes more than great songwriters to make great songs and all the other country artists sing better than Jessica. I don’t like how she sings so it doesn’t matter who writes her songs. I guess some people still don’t get that country fans are used to and demand the best songwriters, singers and musicians! The success of Carnival Ride has nothing to do with Jessica’s songs. If it worked that way labels could just sign songwriters to record their own songs and eliminate the need for great singers and performers. I can’t see Jessica winning any country awards.
Mommy says:
You are such a lousy gossip tabloid spinner. Gossip + tabloid + spinner says a lot. When you have firsthand knowledge of something, then write your own blog.
T says:
“Because guess who wrote most of Simpson’s songs. The same exact folks who wrote Underwood’s songs…So if you like the songs of one, chances are you will like the songs of the other.”
DD CUP, you were right on the money with your response to the above…
“If it worked that way labels could just sign songwriters to record their own songs and eliminate the need for great singers and performers. ”
Songwriting is important, but so is the voice singing the song. The singer brings something to a song the same way an actor brings something to a script. I don’t think many people would want to see Paris Hilton in Meryl Streep’s role in a remake of “Sophie’s Choice” even though it is a great script. It is the same with singers and songs.
DJ says:
No way Carrie would every say anything like what was in that rag mag. She is way too classy and I think she has more important things on her mind than JS. She has a new fall tour coming up where she has told us they are working on a new set..some new songs, etc. She wants it to be something new and exciting for her fans. If you have ever read what Carrie has written she is the most humble, caring, giving artist. Thank you CMT for your support of Carrie! She is still the same wonderful, loving, talented girl she has always been. She makes me so proud to say I am a Carrie fan!
Amanda says:
I don’t like Carrie at all. I think she is not a sweetheart and does not have the class that her fans go on about. I think this is the image she puts out but I have seen enough from her and (read accounts from other people experience with her) to know that the image she puts out isn’t necessarily her. I know people want to keep her as Country’s sweetheart. Fine. We all make our choices.
Whether Carrie actually called Jessica fat to this so called pal on this occasion is an unknown but I am quite sure she is capable. She has a bitchy side and she practically called her stupid on the radio so I suppose she could easily call her fat.
As for Romo- I am sure Carrie is a little put out that he dumped her saying he wanted to concentrate on football and then 5 mins later he is with Jessica whom he has been with for over 9 months now. Even for the nicest person in the world that has got to sting a little and for Carrie I think that has caused a little resentment which is why she stepped out of line recently bragging that Romo was still calling her.
Katie says:
Amanda - I follow Carrie’s career very closely and there is no evidence to support your claims. There is plenty of evidence to support her being nice. Just check out the numerous interviews, fan encounters, etc. Also, you clearly did not read the Allure article. There was no resentment expressed. Just acknowledgement that they were both small town people who supported each other. So what if he was calling her. Why is this such a big deal to everyone? She has repeatedly said that they remained friends. If these folks were not celebrities no one would think anything of it. I remain in contact with several people I have dated. For whatever reason they weren’t the one. They have remained my friends and many have moved on and gotten married and had kids. We still talk and trust me their wives aren’t worried.
I will never understand how so many people can waste so much energy on hate.
Katie says:
Also, Amanda -
You are so sure Tony ‘dumped’ Carrie. Were you there? I think it is just as likely that Carrie did not see a romantic future with the guy and as a result parted company with him. Maybe it was a completely mutual decision. I wasn’t there so I don’t claim to know for sure.
I wish them all the best of luck, but from my perspective Tony and Jessica should stop using Carrie for publicity. Again, just my opinion.

Alyssa says:
I COMPLETELY AGREE!
Carrie Underwood would never say anything like this. She is so sweet and caring and humble. She doesnt care what Jessica says about her so why would she ever say anything back, she wouldn’t. Jess just wants the publicity. This is so ridiculous. Carrie doesn’t say or do anything yet they are still fightingg….
I love carrie underwood!!!
Breeze says:
You guys have no idea what Carrie says about people and things once the doors are closed, the fans shooed away and the cameras are off. She very well may think Jessica is fat, she herself could use a cheeseburger.
Stella says:
Carrie’s too smart to say something like this to anyone not trustworthy. If she thinks it what of it? It’s mild to what most people in the country music industry think of Jessica Simpson.
The Simpsons are clearly trying to get sympathy. Carrie is mean and Jessica is so nervous she thinks she’s gonna barf. Oh and Carrie says Romo calls her, but its a lie to hurt Jess. Yeah, right. Jessica Simpson is an evil, catty woman who needs to just go to Dallas and stay there. Country music doesn’t need her kind.
Amanda says:
Actually Whilst I’m not at all keen on the person ‘I believe’ Carrie Underwood to be, I think I was quite respectful in my post compared to messages of pure hatred I have read about her counterparts.
At the end of the day, we all read and see things and make up our own minds about celebrities. We are all making assumptions really. There is no point in me going through every little thing she has said and done that has lead me not to be a fan of hers but the Allure article was just another thing that annoyed me. I read the full article. Carrie studied media communications I think at college- She’s already been on magazine covers about this fake love triangle. I don’t think that her remark about this other celebrity’s boyfriend still calling her was innocent on her part. True or not, it didn’t need to be said. I actually think it was a cheap shot on a number of levels but she knows that she is seen as the country sweetheart and probably thought she could do and say no wrong particularly against a celebrity who doesn’t have the best reputation. I think that backfired on her.
As for whether she dumped Tony or not, again I can only assume but her comments about him being more interested in football and her speculating that ‘maybe I’m not his type’ suggest that she wasn’t the one that wanted the relationship or whatever it was to end. Also hearing her talk on a few radio interviews it came across to me that she couldn’t understand why it fizzled out and why he was with Jessica now.
Vicki says:
Thank you for clearing the air about this article and many other articles this rag puts out. Most intelligent people know whenever it’s a “friend” or “source”, it’s made up. Honestly, I want this supposed Carrie/Jessica thing to end. We have more important issues in the world. So my solution? Let’s have Carrie and Jessica perform together. Let the world see that they are fine with each other. Then this whole “Jessica vs. Carrie” supposed fight will be over.
I too love Carrie and have seen her twice now in concert and at the Grand Ole Opry. What you hear on CD is what you hear live. She’s an amazing singer. Does that mean that I don’t like anyone else? No. I love Allison, Reba, Martine, Faith, Miranda, Sara, Ashton, Shawanda (sp), etc..
Anyway, (yawn)..lets get on with living…
CJ says:
Carrie does not need any help in who she is and how she reacts to all this trash. He said she said. Who Cares? She is in a different class than Jessica or Taylor. Open your eyes and ears are you stone deaf and blind you would have to be to not see the difference. It should be who has the best voice not who dated who…..
Breeze says:
Stella, it never matters when anyone is speaking to a trusted friend/family member. If someone says something and it is heard by another, there’s the possibily that it will get repeated to someone else. The only way a person can be sure that something they said will never be repeated is to never say it out loud. I have no doubt celebrities are one way (very nice, kind and humble) for the public and who they really are in private.
I wonder if Chance still sends e-mail to her? Probably not, one Dear John in this case Dear Carrie email is sufficient.
CarrieFan says:
I think this is all a bunch of crap. Carrie never said any of this stuff, so I don’t know why the media has to make such a big deal of it. Until we hear something straight from Carries mouth herself…I don’t believe anything that these tabloids continue to write about. Yes, they both dated Tony Romo, and Im sure there was a time that Tony DID call Carrie(because they are friends), but i’m sure the media has destroyed that friendship. But regardless, this so called ‘cat fight’ between Jessica and Carrie isnt between “jessica and Carrie”. I believe its just the media trying to cause a stir…and that it did. I am a Carrie fan through and through! She has accomplished more in her short time in the Country Music industry, and has won more awards then anyone i can think of in such a short time. so for those that dont like her, thats just your opinion. The record sales and sold out arenas, and her long list of awards speaks for itself. She is a star, and deserves every bit of praise that she has gotten. Her Career has only just begun. Here’s to a lifetime of Carrie Underwood music!
Jennifer says:
I love this article. it’s so true. I find it funny how Carrie has been in the music industry for what 3 years now and she’s never been in the tabloids for this kind of stuff. Yeah tabloids gave her attention when she was dating Tony Romo but other than that not much. And now that Jessica Simpson is “trying” to make it in country Carrie’s name is all over the tabloids with people trying to bring her down. I wouldn’t be surprised if the “pal” who did this interview was Jessica Simpson.
Laura says:
I want to know why the FANS are so hot on this Carrie/Simpson supposed feud. It is because the
media plays up every little thing to make some $.
You know you hit it BIG TIME when the tabloids
start zero-ing in on a celeb. I doubt that Carrie
even has TIME to read all the crap written about
her, much less respond to it.
I am NOT, nor have I ever BEEN, a fan of Jessica,
and I believe her crossover to country is because
she’s worn out her welcome in Pop. However, I’m sure
her fans still like her just fine and that’s their
choice, just as it is Carrie’s fans to love her. That doesn’t mean WE need to sling nasty arrows. When we
do that, we show just as little class as the media.
Enjoy whomever you will and let it go at that. I
really don’t believe our artists NEED our defense.
They are who they are, foibles & all just like us.
peach says:
Jessica is about to release her album and this is her way of staying in the public eye. Any publicity to her is fine.
Carrie has class and is apparent in everything she has done. Jessica on the other hand is…well, everybody has an opinion. I will keep mine to myself.
Spiffy says:
Amanda, I think you’re too much gungho on this Romo-Carrie breakup. Is anyone else forgetting that Carrie actually had a REAL boyfriend before Romo-Simpson even started, that Gossip Girl Guy? As Carrie has shown in the past, she moves on, and never looks back.
It’s also funny how she actually admitted to Crawford but never to Romo. That says something. Jessica can have him for all she wants, they are perfect famewh*res for each other. Carrie deserves much better than someone who tells the press they’re dating when they’re not, just so he can have some extra attention.
Marcus says:
I know Lisa Hoffman, She hates Carrie because Carrie is talented and beautiful and Lisa is a no talent lardass. She’s jealous of Carrie. Always bad mouthing her to anyone that will listen. Lisa get over it. It’s not Carrie’s fault that you are a loser.
bresenolouie says:
I strongly agree that OK Magazine just made it up to sell more magazines. IT’S A SHAME, TELLING LIES JUST TO INCREASE SALES. Carrie, if you are reading our comments, just continue being quiet and do not say a thing. JUST IGNORE THOSE PEOPLE. You are an “IDEAL WOMAN” - your gorgeous face and body, the magnificence of your mind ( being a salutatorian in high school and being a magna cum laude in college are just a small part of it ) and the delicacy and the vibrancy of your soul will keep you at the TOP for a long time. The combination of these and their relationships combined with “CLASSIC VERSATILE VOCALS” ARE THE ONES, THAT FLOURISH INCREASINGLY OVER TIME TO US, FANS AND NEW FANS TO COME. As well expressed in your music and your actions, continue to have a very strong faith in God and let God punish the sinners.
Diane says:
All we keep hearing is Carrie and Jessica said this and that. Does Tony Romo have a voice? All we’ve heard from him is what Jessica says. Can he not speak for himself? Actually, I don’t see what is so great about him if he doesn’t have the guts to speak for himself. Both of these girls can do much better.
TEAMCARRIE says:
Great Blog– and thank you on behalf of all Carrie fans! I do not like jessica simpson- but I would never call her fat. She is pretty and has a nice figure. Carrie would never say that about her or anyone- especially since it is not true. If there is anything we know about Carrie– it is that she is polite and discreet. This so-called friend is likely a jessica simpson fan trying to get carrie in trouble by pretending carrie said something like this. I feel bad for Carrie– she has done nothing wrong- and she is getting trashed all over town by Jessica’s Team, aka,Jessica’s Dad-aka “the source”. lol It is so obvious that jessica’s dad did this or her friends. Don’t they realize it is only backfiring for jessica? the day she messed with carrie- she lost 7 million fans who bought carrie’s album- and who may have thought about buying jessica’s. Now— no self-respectiing carrie fan will be caught dead supporting jessica. Ever.
Michael Smyth says:
Amanda- are you really jessica simpson in disguise? lol I have met Carrie SEVERAL times at label after parties and such as I am kind of an assistant to someone in the music business. Basically I am a nobody- but I see and hear alot. Carrie is everything she appears to be— sweet, shy, kind, and humble. She never talks about herself or brags– she does not try to be the center of attention like jessica simpson taylor swift and britney spears do. Carrie is a true southern belle- if they still had them in 2008 (lol)- as she conducts herself with class and like a true lady. She never swears or curses, and is polite to everyone. I can say this because I have seen her in crowds at parties off the clock- when no one is watching- and the cameras are off. The people who claim she is not nice are lying and jealous haters pretending to have met her– that never met her. I would bet my whole bank account that Carrie NEVER said Jessica is fat. First- everyone knows it is not true. Jess is not fat at all. Second- Carrie would never say that- ever. Jessica however- would say something like that. She says vulgar things like farting under the sheets in public- so anything goes with her.
bresenolouie says:
I just went to the opening day of the Puyallup Fair here in Western Washington yesterday, Friday, September 05, 2008 and came back home just on time to watch the “Stand Up To Cancer” in Channel 4 to see Carrie. I talked to one of the supervisors of the Puyallup Fair and told me that Carrie’s Live Concert on September 19, 2008 is almost sold out as of September 05, 2008. NO TWO SEATS TOGETHER ARE AVAILABLE, ONLY SCATTERED SINGLE SEATS IN DIFFERENT SECTIONS IN BOTH $75 AND $50 SEATS. The very few available $75 seats are near the grandstand, far from the stage. They are expecting it to be sold out by next week, one week before the date of the concert - 10,368 tickets sold. Indiana State Fair sold 12,000 tickets of Carrie Underwood and the Gross Sales of Carrie’s Concert from January 31, 2008 to June 23, 2008 (Carrie will get half of the Keith Urban/Carrie Underwood Tour) is 22 Million ( $22,000,000 ). Concentrate preparing and practicing for your future concerts including 51 cities with “Little Big Town”, Carrie. ROCK IT OUT, GIRL!!! See you at Puyallup Fair at Puyallup Fair Ground, Western Washington. You already rocked Yakima, Central Washington and Spokane, Eastern Washington during summer, ALL SOLD OUT CROWD!!! It’s great to see you again at Puyallup Fair. STATE OF WASHINGTON LOVES YOU, CARRIE!!!
rachel says:
This is getting so stupid. I’m getting so tired of hearing all this crap that Carrie apparantly said. The media puts all this junk all over the place. Why? Because they haven’t actually had any bad thing that was true about Carrie. I really doubt Carrie called her fat. I know many people who have had the opportunity to meet Carrie, and not one person has ever said that she has been rude, or unenthusiastic, or anything else like that. On Carrie’s message board, someone talks about how they went to Carrie’s college when she went back to perform, and had the opportunity to talk to professors and others who knew her. They all had nothing but good things to say about her. I’m jsut getting really tired of hearing this stuff. I don’t think she said it. People need to get over this Carrie v. Jessica thing. Carrie is an amazing singer, and I can’t wait to see what else she is able to do in years to come.
bresenolouie says:
Also, I met some people from Vancouver, Canada and Portland, Oregon yesterday at the Puyallup Fair and told me that they are coming back on September 19, 2008 for Carrie Underwood’s Concert.
Jess says:
Carrie Underwood is the sweetest person I have EVER met! She never says anything bad about anyone and always tells the truth. If you want the truth join her fan club. You (lisa and others) can learn a lot from the amazing people there. Yes, Carrie liked Tony but nothing ever came of it. Will Carrie talk to Jessica after Jess said Carrie lied? I’m not sure. Whoever this “Pal” is must be someone like Lisa that doesn’t like Carrie.
Pdlou says:
Jessica: Get over it. Carrie is great and your good at getting a publicity stint. Please leave Carrie out of it. Just sing and sing good and maybe, just maybe we will listen.
Peach says:
Jessica should do something important (i.e. fly a kite)instead of trying to compete with Carrie and that is because there is no competition what so ever. Carrie is the best. End of story.
Courtney says:
yes what is wrong with still calling your exes? i talk to mine all the time and we are friends and get along no problem. so big deal if he still calls her, that just shows that they are mature enough to end a relationship and still associate with eachother.
vicki- i think them singing together would be a good idea and it would show all these idiots that they can get along and be friends. i am friends with my exes new girls and its just fine. if they would just for real appear together and have an article saying what they truly feel about eachother, which i believe they do not hate and say horrible things about the other.
people need to leave the stars personal lives alone and let them live the way they want to.
Jessica’s Opry debut says:
Jessica is making her Opry debut tonight. I heard her first 3 song set and she’s also in the 2nd show coming up at 10:30 - 11:00. So far she is somewhat better than I expected. I don’t like how she sings, her pop style sounds breathy and trying to sound sexy. I didn’t like Come On Over or Sipping On History. She sang Remember That better and got big applause for it. Loretta and the other legends sang great. Jessica and Crystal Shawanda are the only 2 young women performing tonight. Crystal sounds better and more country, and she’s not even from Texas she’s from Canada. What does everyone think and is Jessica an improvement to the Opry?
LuvCountryMusic says:
First off I want to go on record as saying I followed Carrie Underwood into country music through IA. (I cheered and voted for her every time!) Next I want to say wow, what an eye opener. First off I thought the sun rose and set on Carrie Underwood, but boy was I wrong! Yes, you read right. Carrie has changed dramatically! (Ive watched her career every step of the way) I do believe she is now capable of saying everything she has been accused of by ‘her pal’ about Jessica among other things. Yes, I still believe Carrie has a great voice but it takes more than a great voice to make and keep fans. Carrie has become unapproachable and comes across as to high classed for my taste! I personally will not spend another penny on a concert nor albumn nor single nor nada of Underwoods. Her concerts and appearances are no longer fun. But now I ask myself were they ever? They are dull and she makes you feel like she is to good to reach out and touch you during a concert, or maybe she is afraid of getting her clothes, hair, makeup or something smudged. Who knows. I feel let down by Carrie’s behavior and stuck up attitude and lack of ‘fun’ concerts. But since coming over to country music I have found an exceptionally great new artist that I absolutely love, whom is so down to earth and is the real deal, the whole package! That would be the new super-star Miss Taylor Swift! Yes, I’m definately a converted Taylor Swift fan. Taylor is amazing and fun and her concerts are awesome. I mean have you ever experienced one of Taylors concerts? One word; Wow, if you haven’t you should; then you would know exactly what I’m saying about Carrie Underwood and know exactly what I’m talking about.
Tay-Kellie Fan says:
LuvCountryMusic, I hear you… I know exactly what you are saying and couldn’t have expressed what you said any clearer or couldn’t agree with you more. After 8 carrie concerts then experiencing 2 of Taylors, I’m a converted Tay fan from Carrie also…. whew thought it was just meeeee… lol… I to see all the changes in carries attitude and they are not nice changes…
Misty 07 says:
OMG Luv & Tay, You two are so right on it’s surreal. I agree with you guys or gals 100%. Music is something to enjoy and enjoyment = fun. Taylor Swift concets makes Carries concerts so dull. If I’m gonna pay the high gas prices on top of concert tickets it’s going to be to go to one that I enjoy and have fun at and that’s a Taylor Swift concert. Hands down.
Jessica’s Opry debut says:
She sang Come On Over and Remember That again. Some girls were yelling, it sounds like her fan club is there.
Laura says:
That’s the problem with rabid fans- NOTHING can be wrong with their fave celeb and everyone else’s sucks! That’s why shows like AI and other talent shows aren’t real. Fans vote in their FAVE no matter if they can sing or not. They dig in their claws and refuse to believe that even though their fave is a great PERSONALITY, they can’t sing that great. Case in point, Taylor. While she is undoubtedly lovely, funny, gracious, great with fans, wonderful songwriter, and role model, she really only sounds good on radio. Her LIVE productions are off key, flat & loud. Her presence on stage may make up for her voice, but I would NEVER PAY to see her. I cringe anytime I see her award show performance, I mute it. I am NOT the only one to say this. She doesn’t carry a good tune live. She’s young yet, will hopefully improve.
re: Carrie. Her fans consider her “approachable” so it’s just one opinion over another (mine included).
And why, oh why, is it that fans can have only ONE fave artist that “the sun rises and falls on?” I happen to love Carrie, Kellie, Faith, Martina, Lady Wy, & a bunch more. They are ALL talented and unique. So why is it “it’s so and so or no one?” Widen your horizons people. You’re not cheating an artist by liking others besides them. Grow up! This is EXACTLY why the rag mags sell, they have silly fans fighting over one another’s faves.
LuvCountryMusic says:
Case in point it’s Carrie that was on AI, not Taylor. Case in point it was AI that gave Carrie her leg up to a record deal and instant stardom. Case in point Taylor earned her record deal and stardom the old fashioned way. Case in point it’s only you’re opinion that Tay sings off key and you’re in the minority not majority in believing that. Case in point, if you want to be fair about your ravings I challenge you to go see Taylor live in concert then come back here and give a valid opinion. Case in point it’s everyone progative to choose how many artist they prefer one or ten so grow up and come post when you can actually give a valid opinion.
Laura says:
I wasn’t saying Taylor was on AI, she never would have made it through to the finals. She’s off-key & flat when she sings LIVE. The true test of someone who can sing is accapella and Taylor cannot do that well, sorry! And I’ve read PLENTY of message boards that agree with me about her live performances, some that HAVE gone to her concerts. Go ahead like her, I like her- I just like listening to her on the radio/CD that’s all.
PS, I think you need a few more “case in points” here. I’m sorry about your limited vocab.
Misty 07 says:
You go Luvcountrymusic youre right on again. Lauras childish opinion is so in the minority and NOT the majority. Just look at the success of Taylors live performance of “Should’ve Said No” It’s still in the top 20 music videos for how many weeks now? Well, since the ACM’s! Look at all of Taylors accolades & awards in general and in such a short time along with making music history. Taylor is amazing. Laura is by far in the minority. In my honest opinion Laura should widen her horizon and go see Taylor in concert before making bashing remarks about a self-made superstar like Taylor. Heaven forbid she just might get educated and have fun! She sit their and disparged other peoples opinions but openly declared she would never spend a penny to go see just one of Taylors concerts, talk about an unimformed opinion. Hehehe

THE FACT:
Carrie Underwood’s “Some Hearts” album sold 6,525,800 units in actual soundscan sale in the United States only and still selling 5,100 units per week after 146 weeks in the market and cetified 7X Platinum. Carrie’s “Carnival Ride” album sold 2,309,257 units in actual soundscan sales in the United States only and still selling 11,000 units after 45 weeks. Carrie won 51 awards including that of the songwriters out of 62 nominations from various prestigious music award organizations. Carrie has 7 consecutive #1 Hit Singles at the country radio charts. She was at the front cover of Cosmopolitan Magazine twice, InStyle Magazine, Complete Woman Magazine, Allure Magazine and Country Weekly. She is side by side with 50 Cents and other NFL Superstars promoting Vitamin Water. She is with Nintendo promoting their product. Her Live Concert Tour has a Gross Sales of 22 Million ( $ 22,000,000 )( Carrie will get half of the Keith Urban/Carrie Underwood Tour) from January 31, 2008 to June 23, 2008. She is side by side with the supertars of other mutiple music format at the “Stand Up To Cancer”. She is the only country singer who performed at “Movies Rock”, She is with Martina at the “Fashion Rock” last year, and with Brad Paisely at Grammys this year and with Rascal Flatts at the other Grammy of the previous year. I do not have some more space to mention other things.
I DO NOT CARE WHETHER YOU ARE CONVERTED TO OTHER SINGERS OR NOT. WHO CARES? THE FACT SPEAKS FOR ITSELF.
LuvCountryMusic says:
My last comment on this subject; since I have such a limited vocabulary. LOL Just kidding ;) but seriously Laura have you ever considered the fact that most of those message boards you are referring to that bashes Taylor are just fans that are jealous of Taylors accolades and awards she has received and her quick rise to superstar status when their own fav artist haven’t done so? Serious food for thought. Have a great night!
Laura says:
I’m not saying a whole lot of teeny boppers don’t like her. They just SEE HER, not really LISTEN to “quality.” Her voice in no way can compete with the Martina’s, Faith’s, Shania’s, etc of country. She gets the POPULAR vote (as in AI), as in personality, not necessarily singing talent. Any of her fans can VOTE hundreds of times each til their fingers fall off, that doesn’t mean a thing to me. That goes for anyone on the charts. Popular vote. I say that for MY faves as well-who has more time on their hands to vote.
btw, I DID say she IS a good songwriter, connecting with her fans, a good role model, etc. It is NOT Taylor herself as a person I am speaking of, it is her LIVE singing. My whole family says the same thing, and other people I know, personally–along with others whose messages I have read.
People can support the person, their friend, someone they like without thinking they’re the BEST. I’ve supported some of my friend’s cockamamie ideas and when it flunked, I just said at least you tried and had fun doing it. It’s just easier in this electronic/computer age to garner more support in #’s than ever, such as Taylor’s using her myspace page to promote herself and her music. Yes, she has spunk and alot going for her. I like her on talk shows, I think she’s funny, humble, and charming. Does that mean she’s a good singer? Not necessarily. Sorry!
Oh, and my horizons are broad enough, thanks though.
bresenolouie says:
Gross Sales of Carrie’s Carnival Ride Tour = 12.3 Million
Gross Sales of Keith/Carrie Tour = 18.5 Million
Carrie will get half of Keith/Carrie Tour + 12.3 Million = 21.55 Million Gross Sales for Carrie Underwood.
This is from January 31, 2008 to June 23, 2008.
ONE OR TWO CONVERTED FANS TO OTHER SINGERS? WHO CARES? GIVE ME A BREAK!!!
Laura says:
For those who think I am the ONLY one dissing Taylor’s voice or singing LIVE, check out a few of the other CMT blogs following her articles. Here are a few for you:
Nothing wrong with that Kristen if Taylor could sing. But she can’t everyone knows that. Have you heard her in person. Totally different than the albums
For all you fans who keep saying that Taylor is a GREAT singer….for gods sakes….pull your ear plugs out…..her live shows are pathethic…..she should just lip sync…thats what POP stars do when they perform live!!
Her singing ability has NOTHING to do with being jealous of her fame and fortune……us country fans are very particular and PROUD of our genre of music, because OUR artists are the ONLY ones that sound just like their CD when performing live…
I’m a fringe fan of country, and have seen Taylor on several live awards shows. She struggles in the live performances, but she sounds great on the radio, and looks even better in her vids.
Ive said this many times before Taylor can not sing!! Not even close to any of the country, pop females out there!! There is so many talented female artists that can sing yet everyone thinks Taylor is the greatest!!
I have seen Taylor in concert! It was awful! She cant sing!
oh yeah, this is just a sampling, there’s A LOT more where that came from. I am only saying there are MANY in agreement that there is a difference in voice when singing LIVE than recorded. I will take recorded. Period.
Uncle Jesse says:
So Tony dumped Jessica for Taylor now?
Michael Smyth says:
LuCountryMusic—- you are the funniest comic here. First– you have NEVER met carrie and have NO right to judge her.I have met her and she is SWEET, KIND, HUMBLE, and has way more class and talent then jessica or taylor wish they had. Second- she is a sweet, nice person and you are clearly jealous of her success- you were never a true fan or you would not like someone as terrible as taylor swift. She cannot even sing and does not hold a candle to carrie. Finally- taylor is the arrogant one here– she acts like she is 35 instead of 18, and thinks she is the hottest thing since sliced bread. You are clearly a taylor fan pretending to like carrie- and just using this forum as an excuse to trash her. Anyone who picks jessica and taylor over someone as amazing as carrie- has hearing problems.
TAYLOR&JESSICAARENOTCOUNTRY! says:
Taylor fans– this discussion was not about your precious Taylor– so please leave us alone. This forum is not meant ot give hateful taylor fans yet another opportunity to bash carrie. Taylor and JEssica should both go to pop music where they belong. None of Taylor’s songs are country– they are all pop. And she cannot even sing- so she belongs in pop music with jessica where no one sings well anyway. Taylor and Jessica combined are not fit to wipe Carrie’s boots.
CARRIEROCKS says:
LuvCountryMusic—Case in Point: Taylor’s rich daddy got her a record deal– she did not deserve one as her vocals are terrible. Case in point: most adults see her bad singing- but her teenybopper fans don’t get it and won’t get it as they are also hanna montana fans who worship the fad instead of actual vocal ability. Case in Point: Carrie worked her whole life to get a record deal– she didn’t get it by going on AI only. Carrie has been singing since she was 3, and had a record deal at age 14 that fell through, with capitol records- as management changed. Carrie continued to work hard for YEARS to find a record deal- playing talent shows, fairs, churches, sporting events, etc- trying to get discovered- until she went on AI as a LAST RESORT. So get the facts straight before you bash. CARRIE PAID HER DUES for YEARS before going on AI. Thank you- and have a good night.
RealSingersOnlyNeedApply says:
LuvinCountryMusic–you were never a carrie fan so just admit it. No true carrie fan would trash her as you just did. You are clearly a jealous taylor fan here just to cause trouble and bash carrie. MANY critics and newspapers like USA today and major papers have repeatedly criticized taylor’s poor vocals- she is weak, has a thin voice with no substance, has no range, no power, and is pitchy. She is off key, and has a terrible tone to her voice. If taylor ever tried out for american idol– they would have laughed her off the stage. Simon would have destroyed her= and you know it. She wouldn’t have made it to the hollywood rounds. And by the way– no one is more arrogant then taylor. I saw her at stagecoach fest- and she spent the whole time bragging about her 6 weeks at number 1 for that crummy our song which makes me want to hurl- and the rest of the time flipping her hair around, beating on drums and otherwise distracting the crowd to keep them from hearing her actual vocals. She is all about britney spears’ type smoke screens and stage props–= she does anything she can to hide her bad vocals- but it doesn’t work. A bad singer is a bad singer. End of story.
RealSingersOnlyNeedApply says:
PS– luvcountrymusic— I have been to 7 of Carrie’s concerts and they all ROCKED!! Carrie brought down the house especially on her Guns n Roses covers– where critics said she was better then axel rose. I would like to see Taylor try to sing Jesus take the wheel. She would destroy it and dogs would howl. People would have to cover their ears. She is a terrible singer- worse even then britney spears. And at the stagecoach fest– every adult around me felt the same way– they were like, what is the hype about this girl? She was arrogant, fake, and could not sing her way out of a paper bag. She wore a flimsy pink negligee that was supposed to be a dress- and looked like she was trying to be the britney spears of country music. I say- go to pop music and stay there- as taylor has no vocal ability, re-mixes all her songs to pop, goes on TRL and MTV every other day– and none of her songs sound country anyway. So why is she even in country music anyway?? She is from Pennsylvania– and has no southern roots or accent. She does not act country- does not sound country- and is not country. Go to pop where you belong, and take jessica with you. oh= forgot- pop doesn’t want jessica either. lol
Laura says:
I’m sorry these threads even get into such competition of who is better. It really was NOT my intention to BASH Taylor. I like HER just fine, and her recorded singing,
just not TV/LIVE performances.
Let’s face it, much of country isn’t “country” anymore, it’s mostly country-Pop. However, I still don’t appreciate artists from other genres coming over to our side and calling themselves “country” just because they cut a country single/CD-such as Jessica and Jewel. I don’t care for EITHER of them or their singing so I think they should just have stayed in Pop. Unfortunately, there’s not much integrity in the industry and it’s all about the $$/profit that can be made from a singer & placing them in a genre they feel more $ can be made- rather than what they are better suited for.
Country has sold out to the highest bidder & are not too picky who they sign. I am really going to puke if the Grand Old Opry welcomes Jessica in their midst who has NO business being there. She can flaunt her bust and flutter her eyelashes all she wants and play cutsie, but she is NOT, nor will she ever BE, Opry material- at least “genuine” Opry.
Oh and LCM, No one is jealous of Taylor’s success because of the lack of their own’s fave. Carrie is doing just fine, and so are my other faves, can’t speak for anyone else.
Garrett says:
LOL if the tabloids didn’t make stuff up they wouldn’t be able to talk about things that other bigger company’s like CMT talk about why buy a tabloid when you can just watch T.V. and get the real news. they are both beautiful and talented so you know somebody has to make up something just to make a Dollar. You know what the Tabloids need to do is either get some talent or go get a real job because obviously you have either.
Jessica says:
Ok Everyone….let’s get back to the blog and not bash anyother artists that might stumble up in conversation. Let’s just agree to disagree and be done with it. Carrie, Taylor and Kellie are friends, so leave it at that. Jessica is stupid for trying to think she will make it in this genre by bashing Carrie Underwoood…it just won’t happen.
Jill says:
Oh No I have to put my two cents worth in.
Taylor-I have seen her in concert in Frisco, TX. She was the lead off, then Sugarland, then Kenny. Taylor rocked the show in the rain. Her vocals live suck arse. She is a sweetheart, a phenomenal song writer, love her CD, but live I pass. If your’e looking for a fun time go.
Carrie-Ive seen her seven times & met her four times. She has some of the best vocals in all music genres thats why she keeps getting asked to sing at major events. She can sing rock, gospel, pop, country. From Patsy Cline to Fleetwood Mac. Just give her the song and she is so versatile she can do anything. At concerts, she slaps so many hands after each song, accepts gifts, talks to the audience, pts out signs, and will sign things thrown on the stage. If you pass her bus outside, she will come out (even in her pj’s) and sign and take pictures. She is a huge superstar now, Taylor is still rising, and it is harder for her to be accessible and still be safe. She must be surrounded by bodygaurds. Having spoken with her these times I met her just by chance actually, her just standing there w gaurds and I walked up, she chatted took pics and signed. I also know she paid her dues from a young age before AI. I have three demo CD’s in my car right now made at ages 13, 17, and 18. She was good on those but her voice has matured. She was working the fairs with these CD’s trying to break into the business. Carrie has told her fans she considers us her friends and would like to get to know each of us whenever she has the opportunity. She is just as down to earth as always. She was shopping in the Dollar Tree in Tallaquah, OK just the other day.
Fred says:
Ok. First why does Jessica scream her songs? I couldn’t beleive she was even at the Grand Ole. She really had no talent other then her breast hanging out on the stage. She looked like she was going to a strip club and not a concert.
RealSingersOnlyNeedApply says:
^ Agree– I watched jessica’s opry debut on youtube out of curiosity- and she dressed SO inappropriate for the opry- with her little girls hanging out all over. She sounded pop- too breathy for my taste. At least jessica stays on key though- I will give her that. She is not as bad as taylor swift. She will never be in Carrie’s league- but she is not a horrible singer. I just don’t like her for other reasons… And the more she and her Daddy keep trashing carrie to the tabloids and on country radio- the more I dislike her even more. Jessica is bringing way too much drama to country music that is not wanted or needed.
BANLISAHOFFMAN says:
Dear Lisa- I am tired of your incessant hatred of carrie. You bash her on every board- and I am sick of it. Carrie sings circles around both taylor and jessica- and you know it. You are just jealous of carrie and your hatred is overpowering you. I suggest you get counseling for it before it gets out of hand.
bresenolouie says:
Carrie, if you are reading our comments, the $75 seats at your Puyallup Fair Concert, Western Washington on September 19, 2008 is already sold out. No seats together are available for the $50 seats. Few scattered single seats for $50 are available and they are expecting it to be sold out by next week, that will be 10,368 tickets sold, one week before the date of the concert. I am very excited to see you again at Puyallup Fair, Western Washington!!! We had a great time in Yakima, Central Washington and Spokane, Eastern Washington during summer. You rocked it out, girl!!! ALL SOLD OUT CROWD!!! ROCK IT OUT, ONCE AGAIN THE PUYALLUP FAIR!!!
RealCountryMatters says:
It’s unbelievable to me that the Grand Ole Opry staff would allow someone as plastic as Jessica to perform with such fine ladies - and emphasis on ladies - as Loretta Lynn and Patty Loveless. The girl looked trashy and demeans the richness of the Grand Ole lady. She is a lounge singer — and that’s where she should stay. Country wannabees who can’t make $$ in their own genre — need to stay away from the Grand Lady so that it doesn’t lose it’s credibility for real country.
Penny says:
For those of you who are saying anything about Taylor on this blog, there are plenty of Taylor blogs that you can spew your delusional rants. There is no way in hell that you could go to a Carrie concert and find her boring and not genuine or say that she doesn’t interact with her fans there, that to me is a clear indication that you have not been to any of her concerts and that you are just on here to spew your Taylor propaganda. I guess if you think that Hair swinging, arm pumping, below average vocals, garbage can playing and incesent bragging about yourself is cool then Taylor is your girl!!! If you enjoy AWSOME vocals, humility, beauty and cute mannerisms is your thing than Carrie is your girl!! Me……Carrie is my girl, and I have seen both in concert, yes Taylor is full of energy no doubt but it is ego energy and personally I sometimes have felt embarassed for her awkwardness and she just tries to hard in my opinion. Thanks
Penny says:
I saw Jessica at the Opry last night and I’m telling you I was concentrating more on whether her breasts were going to come out and her way over the top mouth and body movements that what she was actually singing, she needs to tone down the dramatics like big time when singing, it felt like she was trying to convince people that she was really feeling the song instead of actually feeling it. What can I say? Different strokes for different folks and this stroke doesn’t suit this folk.
Lee Ann says:
Thank goodness there are others out there that share the same thought as me…..WHY ON EARTH WAS JESSICA SIMPSON ON THE GRAND OL OPRY?!?!?!? LORD HAVE MERCY!!!! What a disappointment and a disgrace to the history of the OPRY and to the history of country music! I just can’t believe it! Gone are the days of the country music industry really looking for TRUE, HONEST, and COUNTRY TALENT…….for heavens sake…..Nashville turned away Garth Brooks way back when…..AND Martina McBride……AND many others….but today…..they allow artists of ANY kind on to the historical stage of the Opry?!? There are people turning over in their graves……TRUST ME!!!!
Lee Ann says:
One more thing…….I agree with whoever said for Jessica to keep her self induced drama to herself….don’t bring it to the country world…….we don’t want it, need it, or appreciate it.. Your insecurity issues, and jealousy issues have no place here….us TRUE country fans are way smarter than you and have been for a long time…way before you were even born…..your lack of class, manners, and complete disrespect of yourself and others is a true embarrasment to us country fans! Keep your “chicken of the sea” and “farting” comments to your own white trash self!
Lee Ann says:
Just to clarify my previous comment on Garth and Martina……I was just saying that after they were initially turned away by Nashville….they had to go back and work harder and perfect their talent. They EARNED their spot on the Opry stage, and they are TRUE country artists with class, integrity, and respect for fellow country artists. Unlike Jessica, who after a few weeks of singing “wanna be” country music, and “acting” like she has been country all her life……gets an appearance on the historical stage of the Opry. Disgusting!!
Laura says:
I turned on the Opry last nite and the first, and last thing I saw were J’s boobs- I grabbed the remote QUICK! I didn’t like her herky-jerky movements in Pop the few times I caught her on TV, and I don’t like them NOW in country. That’s really sad if she thinks showing off her physical assets is what is going to get her accepted into country. She does have a better singing voice (in tune) than Taylor but I can’t stand to watch her. Can anyone here spell BIMBO????
That said, I hope the Opry has more sense than to accept her, but they didn’t show much class having her there to begin with.
Jessica, keep yourself, your daddy, your mechanical movements, and boyfriend drama FAR AWAY from country.
Carrie has by far more class in her pinkie than J has in her entire body.
cabjr says:
For those people pretending to be a carrie fan and then will throw mud at Carrie and promote their favorite singer is an “IDIOT”. Do you think we are going to believe you? NO WAY!!!
RealCountryMatters says:
And one more thing… any one who would leave Nick Lachey who has the prettiest eyes and a soft sweet voice for a loser of a quarterback — who can’t even win a key game –truly doesn’t belong in Country. Her and her daddy need to go back to Waco, Tx… and take her momma too!
Mark says:
Carrie is a wonderful Singer and Performer. But not only that she is a down to earth Country Girl that knows what it means to work hard. Carrie made me a fan, the first time I heard the song “WASTED” So, when it comes to the one’s that want to throw mud; look at your own life first and quit downing the successful people. Because it’s like this God gives us all a gift but it is up to us to use that gift and not waste it. ‘GO CARRIE UNDERWOOD; YOU ARE THE BEST GIRL’
Jessica’s Opry debut says:
RealSingersOnlyNeedApply, I tried to watch her Opry performances on youtube but someone is having them quickly removed. The sweetkisses.net site has one video and GAC shows it again tonight, Tuesday and Wednesday. Here’s a review and btw why do none of Jessica’s reviews talk about her singing? Good country artists are praised for their singing, musicianship, and artistry. She had 2 backing singers and I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that at the Opry before.

carrie would never say that this story is not true. besides carrie knows better.that why she went to collage and got a degree. did jessica even went to collage they only way jessica got famouse is because of her dad and we all no it
so lets just stop this fight over carrie nd jessica and lets move on we all know carrie is a way better singer than jessica
Jessica’s Opry debut says:
I found Come On Over on the Opry’s youtube channel
youtube.com/watch?v=0TlFjgsx9VY
She definitely had the teeny bopping pop moves going on, not something I’d expect to see at the Opry. Soon they will have to change the name from Grand Ole Opry to Brand New Popry.
Jessica’s Opry debut says:
Oh and why didn’t the Opry add Crystal Shawanda’s performance to their youtube channel? There’s a whole bunch of better artists that have performed at the Opry many times they haven’t put on youtube and they suddenly add Jessica’s first performance? What are they thinking????????
Laura says:
“Brand New Popry” says it all if they allow someone like Jessica to perform. I like Crystal and have heard her story. She’s had call-in visits several times at our radio station.
Please, please tell me it isn’t so–that the Opry isn’t selling out to Pop. They always had such musical integrity in selecting who joined. Indeed, what are they thinking????
CJ says:
I think way to many people take Carries shyness as being stuck up. There is a big difference. I watched Jessica at the opry last night. Whe was the only one out of all those singers that had to wear a short, short dress with her boobs hanging out. Go figure that is not a country singer. They have respect for the Opry. Her voice sucked. She is pretty that is it.
Laura says:
Yes CJ, I remember hearing that a lot about my older sis when she was in high school- that she was stuck-up, people not realizing she was very shy. She was pretty and involved in a few things, but even today, she is more of a loner and hangs with family more than friends.
I would say the same of Carrie. Her out-going personality may only go so far, but I’m certain even she has her own insecurities we know nothing about.
Jessica had to be the one with her boobs hanging out in a short short dress because it covers up the lack of talent.
She craves attention, whereas Carrie DRAWS attention. There is a difference.
Laura says:
I am looking forward to the CMT show tomorrow- love Kellie, saw her in concert last mo. Julianne is ok too, but what I’m REALLY waiting for is to see if Taylor can carry a tune LIVE.
Otherwise I’ll have to push the “mute” button like I do on the award show video.
MiaT says:
GREAT BLOG!!!!!
I never believe those kind of comments…..It always ticks me off when I hear them. Even my country radio station talks about these stupid rumors & comments. I wish they would never bring them up!
ContemporaryCountry says:
Taylor will never be able to carry a tune live!!! IT IS SO IRRITATING TO HEAR TAYLOR’S PERFORMANCE LIVE. I AM COMPLETELY ANNOYED. She is just like the “Jonas Brothers” out of tune. God, forgive me, but that’s my true feeling about them. They are just the teenagers fad. Miley Cyrus is a little better. Carrie Underwood is the Whitney Houston and Celine Dion of Country Music. Do not ever compare Carrie Underwood to Taylor Swift because there is no comparison. You are just fooling yourselves.
RedMaZ says:
…and 100+ posts later still doesn’t change the fact. It seems obvious that most people don’t even know what Pop music is.
Laura says:
Well RedMaZ, I at least know what Pop IS, but unfortunately the country pool has been diluted & they are not churning out your “traditional” country artists as much anymore. I’m thinking when radio doesn’t even play the likes of Mark Chestnutt, Tracey Lawrence, Tracy Byrd, Joe Diffie, Jeff Bates much anymore because they are “too country,” then we’re in trouble. That doesn’t even include the older artists, or others that don’t fill the airwaves anymore.
I know progression is NOT synonymous with quality, but it’s more of a “business” than ever & means filling the pockets of the industry, whoever will sell, regardless of true talent. Most artists just have to look good, put on a hat, a little twang, and wa-la…by gosh, they are country.
That is not to say some of these artists AREN’T talented, but they aren’t country either. Get used to it!
Courtney says:
omg..u think Miley is better than the Jonas Brothers? sorry to bring up other artists in this blog, but i had to ask. for serious, Miley Cyrus is a little better? I dont mind the Jonas Brothers, but I hate Miley? Who thinks that?
LD says:
One night Jessica was trying to act country on the Opry stage and the next night she’s singing These Boots and shaking her tail all over the America United stage. No country artist acts like that. She also butchered God Bless America. Yeah she’s real country. Toby Keith showed her how it’s done.
LD says:
LOL now she’s shaking her boobs up and down like a stripper and butchering Sharp Dressed Man with ZZ Top. Hilarious! She can’t sing rock either.
RedMaZ says:
Well laura, suppose you tell me what Pop music is. I have a feeling you don’t know because the Country pool as you put has never been any clearer. Once a person expands they’re musical knowlegde to include All of todays country music…the truth is evident. Country music is as good if not better than ever, and it has nothing to do with Pop Country.
Laura says:
A lot of people would argue that Faith, Shania, LeAnn, Taylor, and others are Pop disguised as “country.” In the good old days of traditional country, you would not hear as much cross-over to other genres as Pop and Country do, or even Country & Rock. Now they’ve mixed all 3 in the fray. R & B usually stays in their niche, as does Hip Hop, but I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before Country dilutes even more & allows them in under the country umbrella–all in the name of blending and acceptance. Just the term “Today’s” Country says it all- as in not true or traditional, but “new.”
I am not knocking most of the talent, I have my favorites too, but some of these artists are placed (by the industry/managers) in whatever genre they think will make more $$, not necessarily what they’re meant to be, or good at. Jessica is a perfect example. She’s outworn her welcome in Pop and decides to “go country.” Same with Jewel. Kid Rock is NOT country either.
RedMaZ says:
I was right. You don’t know what you’re talking about. Hill, Twain, Rimes, Swift are country singers. They are Pop Country singers. You’ll have to explain this comment too someday…”In the good old days of traditional country” What does that mean? Are you trying to tell me there is no new traditional music? You really should do some research.
BANLISAHOFFMAN says:
Swift is not a country singer. She remixes all her songs for pop radio and was on MTV tonight yet again, pandering to the pop crowd at the MTV awards. She is about as country as britney spears. None of her songs sound country– and she sure doesn’t have a country background, coming from a rich daddy in Pennslyvania… Carrie grew up on a cattle farm in the boondocks– and is as country as anyone out there.
Laura says:
So why are they “POP COUNTRY” singers and not just “Country” singers? Why is it “Today’s” country? In that case, what happened to “yesterday’s” country? Why do you have to qualify country as either of those? Country isn’t something that should be playing should I ever turn the dial to a POP station and visa versa. Country is/should be its OWN genre, as in SEPARATE, UNIQUE, IDENTIFIABLE as country, NOT POP.
Gone Country, Country Gone says:
Well said Laura. Jewel is just as talented as many country artists. I don’t think of her as country although she has sold over 27 million albums and is better than Jessica.
The label and radio thinks Jessica will make them more money and she might in the short run, however it hurts the format in the long run - dilutes it as you said and when anything is diluted it’s weakened. Country used to be 200 proof and now it’s about 150 proof. Think of country radio as a bar - keep watering down the drinks and you lose your best customers. Jessica is the worst pop artist to come to country and they are completely selling out to pop by bringing her in, especially to the Opry, the sacred shrine of country, and CMA Fest, the mecca of country. She is not even close to the talent of Carrie or any of the other great country, country/pop or country/rock artists.
Laura says:
We are in agreement GCCG. Country is being diluted slowly but surely, AND we are NOT needing the likes of Jessica to further dilute/compromise the genre by sexing up the Opry.
THAT is where her talent lies and perhaps she should seek a different medium to express herself. The whole thing makes ME sad because country is the ONLY genre I grew up on and enjoyed, & to see what it is becoming is disheartening.
RedMa had it right the first time “Mainstream” and anything to sell.
LD, as I write this J is on singing “Boots” and even my hubby said she sucks and sounds terrible. She is PAINFUL to watch and/or listen to. I suppose she thinks she is sexy, I’d like to puke! Talk about butchering music. She was right when she said “I’ve been all over.” Ha! I think she’s going to butcher God Bless America now. Talk about dramatic. Excuse me while I go hurl.
bresenolouie says:
Wow!!! I thought this is an article about Carrie and Jessica. Now, Taylor Swift, Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus came in the mix. Anyway, I will borrow this from somebody - different strokes for different folks, some strokes does not suit this folk - me. Carrie Underwood is my #1 Greatest Voice of All Time. Carrie is a “CLASSIC VERSATILE VOCALIST” AND SHE HAS TO DIVERSIFY like Shania Twain. MARKET-ORIENTED INNOVATION IS NECESSARY FOR CARRIE TO STAY IN THE TOP FOR A LONG TIME - contemporary country/pop, contemporary country/rock and traditional country mix is necessary. Traditional Country alone is not doing great in the market anymore. MARKET-ORIENTED INNOVATION!!!

Carrie Underwood is a two time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year. Carrie Underwood is a two time ACM Top Female Vocalist. Carrie Underwood is a two time Grammy Top Country Female Vocalist. Carrie Underwood won the Best New Artist of the CMA and Best New Artist of the Grammy. All the other awards are just icing in the cake for me. Carrie Underwood sold almost 9 Million albums just after 2 years and 9 months after the release of her debut album “Some Hearts”. Total Gross Sales of her Live Concert Tours = 21.55 Million from January 31, 2008 to June 23, 2008. Thanks to “bresenolouie”. Plus few more Fair Performances and 51 more cities Live Concerts with “Little Big Town”. That’s all I need to say. Others are just icing in the cake.

This whole situation between carry and jessica is Enough, if “Rag Mags” have to stir up stuff just to sale their trash it truly is a sad day, I dont believe for 1 minute Carry would stoop that low into saying something like that about Jessica, If Jessica is so worried about her “boy toy” then she doesn’t have faith in him she is saying they are in love then if thats true she needs to have more trust, if she needs to worry about anyone it would be him, He’s(Tony) has gone through a few woman before carrie and jessica, So Jessica woman up and get a back bone, Carrie’s going to be here along time so Please get use to it, and Oh by the way arent you still friends with your x ? Country music isn’t a place for this cat fight, if you don’t like tony calling carrie then tell him, dont B.S with Carrie, If you want to stay around country music long straighten up and dont start any trouble we love our country music and your the new girl now and we can like you as much as we do carrie, you both need to get over this guy, jessica if you really do care about tony then you need to grow up he’s a well known football player and i’m sure there are alot of woman that think he’s a cutie, do you get mad at them? Carrie if you see that it’s Tony calling dont answer! Be Smart he’s not worth all of the rumors going on.

My Top Favorite Singer is Carrie Underwood. Originally, I am a fan of the Eagles. I love rock music especially soft rock. Then I started to love Keith Urban and then Brad Paisely. And then Martina McBride and then Carrie Underwood. The new country singers after Carrie Underwood are just average country singers like Taylor Swift, Kellie Pickler, Julianne and Jewel. NOT MY TYPE. They are not at the same league as the Eagles, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Brad Paisely and Martina McBride.
Sami says:
I have been a country music fan for many years. I love the old country artist and a few of the new ones. I absolutely love Carrie Underwood. Her vocals are amazing and I enjoy watching her on the Opry. I was saddened when I watched Jessica Simpson’s perfomance on the Opry. Is the Opry compromising it’s conservative values by allowing artist like Jessica to perform? I think so!! I will not watch the show when I know she is performing. I have never missed an opry show, but now I am very disappointed in their choices. Jess & her Dad are responsible for the bad press for Carrie. Remember Jess’s album is coming out and she tries to attach herself to Carrie any way she can–and remember She is a tabloid queen and enjoys the publicity.
RedMaZ says:
Once again Laura…You don’t know the definition of Pop, so anything I tell you…you’re probably not going to understand. Since country is the ONLY genre you grew up on and enjoyed…maybe you should try listening to all of todays Country Music. Let me ask you this…who are five of your favorite Roots Country artists?
Jackie says:
The quotes in this article are from a friend. No friend would give a magazine such info. This so-called friend is nameless because it is tabloid hype to sell magazines. As long as people buy them, the trash will keep piling up. There was none of this type of publicity until the media saw that it could make a profit. It is very sad to see the type of exploitation that can try to ruin what a person has worked to acheive. As has been pointed out, Carrie did not have overnight succcess without hard work. She has been singing since a child. She competed for years and made attempts at a career. She sang with a country band in college. She graduated from college, magna cum laude. She continues working very hard having toured since the beginning of the year and recently extended her tour adding over 50 cities. She just completed the Just Stand Up for cancer benefit. She obviously takes her music career very seriously and is working hard for her fans. She also loves music and can play the piano and guitar as well as writing some of her songs. She has amazing vocals and sounds just as good live as on cd. She is focusing on her current tour and is way too busy to live in the past. Her Mom said that Carrie looks to the future and kows how to keep things in perspective. That is what we should also be doing..live goes on and so has Carrie and is doing pretty well. For 3 years very little was said in the tabloids about Carrie even when she was dating famous guys. Now that there is something to sell, it’s all over. That says it best it is all over. By the way, CARRIE ROCKS!!!
Tiafall says:
RedMaz is right. Carrie, Jessica, Taylor are all pop country singers. Even I know that!
lucky says:
I agree with lisa that carrie underwood has changed alot since AI I was at country thunder in WI and most of the people left to get pictures with taylor and did not watch carrie.go taylor, she done nothing wrong people.
countrymusiclover says:
Oh my gosh, Your Carriefans make me sick. I’m a Carrie fan myself, yes, Carrie is a beatiful, talented woman but you guys idolize her like she is some kind of God! It’s pretty sickening actally. Yes, she has sold millions of albums and won tons of awards, but quit bashing other artists and summing them up to Carrie! It’s getting very OLD! There are other artists out there better and not as good as Carrie but quit comparing them to her. Also she is human she could of said that Jessica was fat, she is just as human just like us. You guys make her out to be so innocent, innocent little Carrie, well she is Christian I know that, but we all have all flaws, the only perfect one was Jesus, so get over yourselves!
PS I personally like Jessica Simpson!
Amy says:
Carrie stated that Tony could not put anything above football. HEY STUPID! Would you want him to ask you to put him before singing? She stated this to a magazine not long after they parted ways. Also, I had the unfortunate experience in attending an autograph session. Carrie was extremely rude and I will never buy another album. Guess what!! Two months later I went to a Jessica Simpson autograph signing and she was the sweetest thing. Also, if Carrie is so classy and sweet. It should bother her that people believe she is saying horrible things. Why doesn’t she come out and set the record straight? Frankly, not doing so makes her look jealous of Jessica.
cabjr says:
Amy, you are an “IDIOT” and “STUPID”. You are pretending to be a carrie fan. Do you think we are going to believe you? We are just laughing at you. YOU ARE JUST MAKING YOURSELF A MOCKERY!!! To all those pretending to be a carrie fan and throw mud at Carrie is an “IDIOT”. We know better about Carrie than you are. He…he…he…for you!!! It was Jessica who was going around the radio stations and spreading garbage. Carrie is just very quiet and did not say a thing about Jessica and Tony. Read the Allure Magazine article first. There is no mention of Jessica and no negativity about Tony. You have a low IQ if you could not understand the article. Jessica is ” A SHAME TO COUNTRY MUSIC “. Go back to Pop Music, Jessica!!!
RedMaZ says:
Jessica IS in Pop Music now. Pop Country. Just like Underwood. They’re in the same music business. Pop Music.
Renee says:
I can’t believe these magazines are trying to make Carrie look bad. I saw it in the supermarket and it’s so ridiculous. When are they going to let the supposedly “Jessica/Carrie” rivalry go? They should be ashamed of themselves. I feel for Carrie. She must be so frustrated to see this made up stuff about her.
Maria Diaz says:
I’ve wondered about the what is pop thing too. Can we consider Roda Monroe as folk or country or is there a difference? Carrie Underwood is country to me. I don’t know … hmmm
KAREN KUREK says:
In response to Carrie saying anything bad about anyone–never happened–someone just wanted to sell magazines and get Jessicas name on the front cover to help her career and in response to Carrie not paying her dues she did as stated above Its because Carrie is so nice that the media takes advantage of her kindness and prints all this negativity about her because they found it sells magazines!! And if Jessica was doing so well in pop why did she have to change over?? think about it!! As for Taylor sounding good live they just play the music louder so you dont notice her vocal ability and have you ever heard Taylor sing a song like for example “Sound of Music” with high notes?? No!!!!
Kellie Pickler IS a Great Country Singer! says:
CountryMusic is #1 says:
“The new country singers after Carrie Underwood are just average country singers like Taylor Swift, Kellie Pickler, Julianne and Jewel.”
I agree that Country music is #1. I also love classic rock. I agree with most of your post except Kellie Pickler is not just an average country singer. Both Carrie and Kellie are far above average. I voted for them on American Idol, a live singing competition, and I only vote for the best. The first time they sang on the same country awards show, the 2007 CMA Awards, Kellie won CMT Music Awards Performance of the Year for her outstanding performance, which earned a standing ovation from all of the best country artists there. Carrie’s performance was also great however Kellie and Sugarland were the best that night. As you know, Carrie has had best of night performances at other awards shows. Kellie swept the 2008 CMT Music Awards, winning all 3 awards she was nominated for, and these awards are voted by actual country listeners not just industry people. Performance of the Year is the only CMT Award for live singing and the rest are for recorded videos. Kellie was the only new artist nominated for this award and it was her first awards show performance! That’s right, Kellie, a new artist, delivered the best live TV performance in all of country music during the entire year.
Kellie has also received standing ovations at the Opry, on the Brad Paisley tour, and her own concerts. She is a top audience favorite at the Opry, has already performed there about six times, and she has another performance soon. She loves the Opry and the Opry loves her. Kellie deserves an Opry membership and I hope she gets invited in the next year or so. I think she should be the next artist invited.
Sugarland picked Kellie to tour with them and I seriously doubt a country singer as great as Jennifer would pick an average country singer. In fact in an Out & About newspaper interview Kristian Bush was asked why they chose Kellie to tour with them and her voice is the first and only thing he mentioned about her:
O&AN: You will soon be starting your tour to support the album alongside Ashton Shepard and Kellie Pickler. What was it about their respective acts that drew you to invite them on the road with you this time out?
KB: Jennifer and I both think that Ashton and Kellie are truly authentic voices in country music. I personally like the fact that there is a female headliner who is not afraid of having another female in the act. Also, apparently I’m a glutton for hairspray. I get my little hairspray contact high and have to be careful not to light a match. *laughs*
They are also planning to sing songs together on the tour, which starts this Saturday.
I do not buy albums or go to concerts of average singers. I bought both Carrie and Kellie’s albums. I have been to Carrie and Kellie’s concerts and they both sing great live, 2 of the best in the business. Kellie always gets great concert reviews from the critics. Both recorded great tracks and got great reviews for the same Christmas album. Both do the best job of singing national anthem at numerous large events like the Coca-Cola 600 in front of over 100,000 people live plus millions of live TV viewers. Why do I mention the anthem, because it is a difficult song to sing and is sung a capella without any help from music, it’s just the singer and a mic so there is nothing to cover or mask bad or off vocals. Kellie’s CMA Awards performance, Santa Baby, and acoustic performaces of her own songs were sung with little music as well and all sound great. Carrie must know Kellie is a great singer since Carrie is a great singer who knows great music and has talked about wanting to tour with Kellie. At last year’s CMA Awards Carrie said in an interview that she can’t wait to see Kellie start winning awards next year, and I don’t think Carrie wants average singers to win awards. If she voted on the CMT Awards I bet she voted for Kellie. They are also friends.
Kellie is one of the best vocalists and does a great job covering Martina, Dolly, Patsy, and Tammy songs at the Opry and all of her concerts. She recorded the best version ever of Santa Baby, a song that has been covered 1,000 times over the past 50 years, and she blew away Madonna’s version.
Kellie deserved a nomination for ACM top female vocalist and since these awards are more commercially based on airplay and sales and Taylor got much more label promotion, airplay and sales than all other new artists she was the only new artist who got it. Hopefully the CMA voters recognized Kellie’s vocal talent over airplay and sales. She is the best country singer of all the ladies you mentioned. She’s also a diverse singer who sings modern and classic country, classic Christmas songs, pop/rock songs, and the anthem great. Carrie and Kellie are the 2 best current pop/rock crossover singers in country music, not counting Shania or anyone who doesn’t have a recent album out.
Julianne and Jewel are also great singers, possibly better pop than country singers. Taylor isn’t as good of a singer as them however she’s a great girl and has other talents. She’s a good songwriter and plays guitar. In an interview Taylor said there are singers in Nashville who sing rings around her and she wants to be known for her songwriting. When Kellie and Taylor were on the same tour with Brad for months, Kellie always got the best reviews for her singing. Taylor didn’t sing the National Anthem well, she probably can’t sing classic country songs well, and she covers pop songs at her concerts. Like Carrie and Kellie she made a great album, which got great reviews, and overall she’s a good artist. She’s just not one of the best live or country singers.
Laura says:
I saw Kellie in concert in Aug. First concert I have seen in YEARS and would be happy to pay twice the price. Kellie indeed has a GREAT voice/vocals, far better than her buddy Taylor, but it IS nice they are friends.
RedMaZ says:
“Julianne and Jewell are also great singers, possibly better pop than country singers” wtf? Another person who doesn’t know what Pop Music is. You and Laura should start your own club.
Katie says:
Amy, you are quoting something that was printed in a TABLOID! Get real.
Also, anyone who puts a comment like HEY STUPID or other vulgarities in their post does not deserve any respect. As far as I am concerned that applies regardless of the artist you are supporting.
Finally, Carrie addressed a lot of this in a variety of interviews today. I would recommend you check them out. Then again, don’t bother…I doubt you would be able to hear through the hate.
bresenolouie says:
Although Carrie Underwood is MY #1 GREATEST VOICE OF ALL TIME, I also consider Kellie Pickler as a great singer. Like Carrie, there is a tremendous growth in Kellie’s vocals, but, Kellie’s vocal is not as great as Carrie. Julliane and Jewel’s vocals are very good but not as great as Kellie.
bresenolouie says:
Here are the reasons why Carrie Underwood is MY #1 GREATEST VOICE OF ALL TIME :
Carrie’s classic and tremendous vocal is technically skilled, powerful and gorgeous. There is that supple quality in Carrie’s voice and there is vibrato that show incredible technical skill, and she can leap it up high to the TOP of a HUGE MOUNTAIN. This is the SIGNATURE of Carrie’s vocal. But her vocal gymnastics, do not overpower the songs. Instead, they complement and blended so well with the instrumental track. Her HUGE and CRYSTALLINE VOICE sounds OUTSTANDING in traditional country, pop, rock, country/pop and country/rock. She is a “CLASSIC VERSATILE SINGER”.
bresenolouie says:
And also, for me, Jewel is really very close behind Kellie Pickler. However, I love all their voices - Kellie, Jewel and Julianne. But, I have not bought the albums of Jewel and Julianne. I bought Kellie’s debut album.
ENOUGH WITH THE BASHING!!!! says:
LIES! OH THE LIES!!!!! *and not just in the tabloids* all the TRASH!!!!
Ashleigh says:
Please… Carrie definitely needs to get a new man in her life and stay out of Jessica & Tony’s relationship… She is just a little small to carry around the “BIG HEAD” she has recieved over the years.. I liked Carrie back before she let all her fame go to her head, and before all she knew how to do was dance like Beyonce knee to chin struts all over the stage… she is pathetic these days.. If she is on tv , I turn it immediately she is just so COCKY..
Jessica Simpson deserves her fame just as much as Carrie Underwood does.. Jessica has been around alot longer than Underwood, it’s finally time to put Underwood on the backburner.. the realy Country Blonde has arrived..

Sarah G says:
I think at Carrie Underwood’s days are numbered in country music. I like her voice, but man she has a bad attitude. I don’t believe anything OK says, but I do know for fact that she is not the nicest person. Not that Nice sells records, but I think she is not going to have a very long lasting career. She is not Trisha or Faith. Jessica is trying to find herself, giving country a whirl. I don’t like it, but whatever. I’m sorry, but the days of Carrie and Taylor are going to wrap up in a few. Give me someone who is Edgy, writes their own damn music, and isn’t 20, and isn’t blonde and isn’t fake. Please than I will buy the music. –well i don’t mind if she is blonde, but please have an awesome voice!!!
