Take a Country Star to School
I have this brilliant beyond brilliant idea. Actually, it's not mine. I'm ripping it off from the NFL. They are having this contest where the winner gets to take an NFL player to school for the entire day. I entered my son, knowing how cool it would be for him to show up in sixth grade with one of the Chicago Bears by his side. But wouldn't it be even better to bring a country star to school?
I mean, imagine the faces of all the little girls if a fourth grader showed up with her Taylor Swift lunchbox, her Taylor Swift T-shirt and Taylor Swift herself. By the end of the day, Swift would probably have the whole school convinced that living your dreams is totally possible. Or what if you were a budding guitar player, and you waltzed into middle school with Brad Paisley tagging along? And what if he gave mini guitar lessons between biology and social studies? Every student there would be inspired to practice, practice, practice.
Even in high school, where the kids are usually too cool to do lame things like enter contests, I'd be willing to bet that walking through your school's front doors with Keith Urban would make the entire student body take notice. And if you brought Carrie Underwood to any high school across the country, there'd be something for everyone. The girls would ask her about what it feels like to be onstage in front of thousands of people, and the guys would just try to hit on her. So, everybody wins.
If I talk to my local schools about implementing this idea, and you talk to yours, together we can educate today's youth about all things country. One artist at a time.

carrie underwood would be the best star to take to school. not only is she big with the young crowd and little girls- but also the older crowd in high school. Everyone knows who she is and were probably a part of her getting here. It would be the coolest experience ever!

Carrie would be perfect for something like this. She was “one of us” who had big dreams in high school, and then went to college to prepare for the real world. she didn’t give up on those dreams from her school days, and now look at her. Taylor, of course, would also be a great example of how you can achieve a high school degree while living your dreams. If I was in high school and one of them came in, especially Carrie, I would probably keel over.

Many country stars would fit this bill-Miranda Lambert, Kellie Pickler, Martina, Reba, Faith, so many..oh and the guys too! I work with the high school band and during competition season, it’s close to murder if you miss a rehearsal. I live in Kentucky and one of the sweetest, nicest, polite, do anything for you guys missed practice! Well, the band director was in shock but called him into the office to give him “what for” for missing practice. This sweet, “good ole boy” tall student came in with his head held high and a look of pride in his eyes. What was the excuse for missing practice? “Mr. Skaggs. It was GEORGE JONES! GEORGE JONES! He was in concert and I had tickets. There’s NO WAY you can miss a GEORGE JONES concert!”

Why do we see a pic of Taylor Swift when we click on the Keith Urban blog? Should there not be a pic of Keith instead, after all if I am going into Keith Urban’s blog I really don’t want to see a pic of Taylor Swift who in my opinion is very OVER RATED! Of course being 45 years old I am longer in school but if I were Keith would be my choice to take to school. Not only is he an accomplished musician and songwriter, but he has lived a life of ups and downs and would have more experience to share with the youth. Not to mention he is very sexy!!!

I would like to take taylor swift or carrie underwood because their both great people. Taylor Swift could tell you about her high school experience even though she wasnt in high school long. Carrie is great working with people.. So i would pick between those two. :)

I’m up for this idea! It’d definitely be inspirational for country singers to go around to schools of all sorts. As a matter of fact, I think parents should even go around to schools…just to see what their children are learning and such. Plus, possibly, the children might listen to their parents even more so if the parents stand up in front of class to talk to other students. (I think the parent thing already takes place, but it should take place more often, if at all possible)

Aw man I would love for like any country star to come with me to school! Especially Taylor Swift. She is my all time favorite country artist. There is not one thing I don’t like about her. Her music is just so awesome and her lyrics are so meaningful. She’s so down to earth and your average teenager so she can relate alot to my life and alot of her other fans. This is such a great idea! I would like practically almost die from excitment if I won a contest like this! I totally 100% support this idea!
