Dolly Parton Isn't Dead Yet
Dolly Parton is still alive. That's really all that matters. However, it's amazing enough that rumors of her death could start as an erroneous announcement at a high school football game, and it's even more amazing that nobody can even determine exactly where that seed was first planted on the proverbial grapevine.
A lot can happen in a week, but the 62-year-old singer looked pretty damn good during the weekend of Aug. 16-17 when she performed three sold-out concerts at her Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. After the rumor began that she had died of congestive heart failure on Friday night (Aug. 22), her spokesman told a Knoxville, Tenn., TV station that Parton decided against releasing an official statement that she is alive. Of course, the mere fact that she didn't issue a denial may be enough to fuel the conspiracy theory that somebody's trying to cover up her untimely demise.

That is so sad. Rumors can destroy people. Dolly is one of a kind and just a all around beautiful person. I have watched her sence she was on the Porter Wagner show. I was babysitting and that was all I could find on tv so I really got hooked on country at that time. If you can’t tell the truth don’t talk at all. Also find out if something is true before you mouth it around. Dolly we love you!
Chris N. says:
I don’t think you’re supposed to plant seeds in the grapevine. I’m pretty sure those go in the ground.
David Nisbet, Scotland says:
First i’ve heard of it.
Calvin Gilbert says:
Good point on the grapevine planting thing. Shows what I know about horticulture.
Jaycee says:
Long live Dolly - the best thing to happen to the world of entertainment and the world in general is Dolly.

Cricket from Froggy 104 says:
Doesn’t a rumor that she’s dead further cement her as a legend? Try spinning one of her records backwards to see what it tells you, lol.
Mike says:
Why anybody would ever want to be spiteful to Dolly is beyond my comprehension. She has nothing but GREATNESS in her heart for EVERYONE. Forget for a moment that she is a Mozart with an Angelic voice, and look at all the good she spreads around. I really don’t care what they say about other stars…but don’t mess with Dolly!! She’s the closest thing to American royalty we have ever had and there will never be another Dolly. The world is a better place with Dolly in it. I have always loved you Dolly. Forever Dolly!!

The one thing about show business (tv, film, etc.) is that any news is good news. The buzz created from this rumor will steer people to do internet searches and ultimately draw them to this blog, her website, CMT, GAC, etc.
If anyone saw Yahoo! buzz this am. Biden’s son mentioned he wouldn’t be around in his speech. The ginormous internet search after that not only found out the reason but, created a tremendous amount of discussion and press.
Nathan says:
Well, ain’t that a kick in the head. First I have heard of that. Love You Dolly.
