Kenny Chesney Cap Is Just the Beginning

Posted: August 21st, 2008 at 4:17 pm  |  By: Alison Bonaguro

It's been a long, expensive summer. And I have the merch wardrobe to prove it.

Every June, I tell myself I will not buy any concert gear at the summer shows. I don't need it, it's overpriced, blah blah blah. Yet here I sit, surrounded by clothes and accessories that tell the world what I've been up to for the past three months. But what I tell myself (and my husband) once the damage is done, is that these purchases were unavoidable.

When Kenny Chesney was in town, my seat was directly opposite the sun. So to stare at Chesney was to stare directly into the light. Even my sunglasses provided no relief. I had to get a ball cap in I order to survive. When I was at a Dierks Bentley show, someone with questionable dance skills spilled his beer all over me, thereby forcing me to get a Free & Easy tank top. And when I saw Miranda Lambert, her Crazy Ex-Girlfriend T-shirt just looked way more crazy than the plain white T-shirt I had on. So for fun's sake, I bought one. Then the last summer show I was at, Rascal Flatts, felt more like a chilly fall night. The temp dropped down to about 55 degrees. Rationale enough to get a Bob That Head hoodie, right?

You put them all together and it's an outfit I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. But if I look at the remnants of my summer one at a time, I see the memories of a few months filled with good country music. Big Visa bills, but still good country music.

I don’t think that Kenny Chesney is sexy. I also don’t like that specific song. I am left wondering what point that your making with this article. Am I to feel sorry for you that you tour country music concerts all summer? Or is it that your really not very bright and don’t have self control over senseless spending?

You know Alex, when you make comments about someone not being very bright, you really should check your grammar and spelling.

Nice little article Alison. Don’t let the Grinch steal your Christmas.

LOL Hey its the memories that are priceless!!! & its sometimes hard to remember those memories so we need to get alittle somthin’ to jog those brain cells. LOL

I still regret leaving the Sugarland show I went to without a shirt. I’ve never done that before. Half of my shirts have a country singer on them!

The first time I saw Keith Urban he was touring with Kenny Chesney and he stole the show that night as well. I will never understand why so many people are crazy about Kenny, but then again I’m really glad Keith is more my type. Keith is all about the music. I get the idea sometimes that Kenny practices his shows in front of a mirror. Sorry, I got off topic Allison, but I thought your blog was cute and funny! I had a mental picture with you wearing all of your merchandise…especially that goofy tractor hat!

Love the cap, and the song. My husband is a farmer and I have pictures of him on his tractor, and I have to say he’s pretty hot setting up there on that tractor. As a matter of fact there is a lot of Kenny Chestney’s songs that remind me of my husband and our life together. Great job Kenny, love that music!

Cute story Alison. Although Kenny puts on a really good show, I’ve got to agree that Keith Urban stole the show this year, he was awesome!
