Donavon Frankenreiter Sounds Like Summer

![]()
All summer long, I've been reaching for my advance copy of Donavon Frankenreiter's album, Pass It Around. Somehow, it just sounds right in the summer, because it's an easygoing album. Yet, it's not boring - cool melodies all the way around. I keep gravitating toward "Too Much Water," because the lyrics remind me of a charity bike ride I did earlier this summer for the Blood:Water Mission, which strives to bring clean water to Africa. Some of the cyclists rode all the way from Los Angeles to Washington D.C. (Not me, though. I was satisfied with a 25-mile loop in Nashville.) Even though summer is almost over, my guess is that I'll still be listening to this one in the months to come.

Pass it Around introduces us to Donavon’s newfound identity. Donavon put his heart and soul in creating and co-writing this album, in the quest of finding his musical identity; which in result, is an album filled with soulful melodies, uplifting grooves while infusing his signature sounds of acoustic and electric elements of funky & fresh beats and plenty of Donavon’s soft, raspy & mellow sexy voice that never disappoints. Donavon’s newfound musical confidence in Pass it Around, places him in a class of his own. Pass It Around truly is “a testament to Frankenreiter’s continuing evolution as an artist.”
