Toby Keith's Beer for My Horses Movie Arrives

Posted: August 8th, 2008 at 3:20 pm  |  By: Chris Parton

Beer For My Horses

Don't get me wrong, I'll bet Toby Keith and Rodney Carrington are hilarious in this movie. And I always like to watch Willie Nelson on the big screen. But there's one thing that makes me want to see this flick above all the rest. The Nuge -- a.k.a. Ted "The Motor City Madman" Nugent -- as a bow-and-arrow-toting sheriff's deputy. Who needs a badge when you've got tattoos? Apparently he was orphaned and raised by natives and only speaks when he's got something to say. Strangely enough, no one has ever heard him talk. That character alone is worth the price of admission for me. Beer For My Horses opens in St. Louis, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Little Rock, Indianapolis, Nashville, Milwaukee, Oklahoma City, Buffalo and Tulsa today, with more cities coming.

I was really disappointed that this movie didn’t open this weekend in my hometown (or any surrounding area) of Birmingham, AL. Hopefully it will be here soon. Had already made plans to go see it with friends…. So disappointed!!!!!! What happened? I thought Bham was one of the “major” cities in the South…

I too am disappointed. Watched the special on it last weekend on CMT and I dont remember anything being mentioned about opening in select cities only.

I am also dissapointed. I feel as though the movie should be playing in all of the states he tours.

Where IS the movie being shown this weekend???

On Toby’s myspace page, he gives a little preview of the movie and mentions something about opening Sept. 15??? Maybe it’s just being previewed this weekend in select locations. Who knows??

The movie was showing about an hour away from my hometown, and I made the trip to see and was not disappointed. Toby and Rodney and The Nuge were great. May go see it again, will get the DVD as soon as it is out. Had a good time, and every one else in the theater seemed to enjoy it, too.

It didn’t open in Central Virginia either. I was really ticked. We didn’t get to see his first movie until it hit TV and then had to put up with commercials. Why did they have to do it with just a limited engagement and not tell everyone. He had the perfect opportunity during the CMT show about the movie. Now, I don’t care if I see it or not. It really messed up our plans Saturday night.

I saw B4MH this weekend and was not disappointed. It was hilarious, I loved all the characters. I drove 2 1/2 (each way) to Indianapolis from my home in NW Indiana. It was well worth the trip. I saw an article that Toby didn’t like how Broken Bridges was distributed which is why they went with Roadside Attractions. I don’t think we all realize how much it costs to release a movie in all cities. Toby put up his own money to make this movie. I’m hoping that it was a big enough hit in the selected cities to release it nationwide.

Went to see B4MH near Pittsburgh and loved it. Haven’t seen anything as funny since “Smokey and the Bandit” many years ago. It is fasted-paced and Toby and Rodney do a great job in bring the characters to life. The cameos by Willie, Mel, and David Allen are wonderful. I truly recommend this movie and will buy the DVD when it comes out. Can’t wait for the sequel!

Wait A Minute!!! How come we can see interviews of Toby on TV between 8/4 and 8/8 for the big debut of the movie, BUT no MOVIE showing in MANY STATES! What’s Up with This?
Looking Forward to seeing movie if someone or some website would clue me in when’s it’s going to be here in Florida.
Whoever is in charge of marketing they need to Buck Up!!!
I want the WHOLE COUNTRY TO LAUGH don’t You? This movie NEEDS to get Out and Seen!

Why is this movie not playing in Michigan? I went to the Kenny Chesney concert last weekend. There were 40,000 + people there. There are plenty of fans in this area. What’s up? Are the liberals in Hollywood holding this movie back?

I am a huge fan of all the cast in this movie. What an incredible lineup of talent for this film. One problem…Haven’t seen it yet because some schmucks left Michigan out of the loop for showing this film in. I have been looking so forward to seeing it since I first heard about it. The Nuge is a hometown hero in my state and I am sure this film will prove to be a blockbuster in any theatre venue in the Great Lake State.

I am as well a HUGE fan of Toby. And the cast! I went to see him play at Mahegan Sun Casino when he was taping back in March then again this past Sunday (8/10) in Hartford, CT. At the Sunday show there was a big promo about the movie and how it was released 8/8, so I came home after the AWESOME show to find out there is nowhere to go see the show. So I called our country station up in the sticks where we live to find out it is not playing at all in CT. I am so sad. I hope it gets released here soon…we were all looking forward to seeing it the weekend it was released and Toby was here…I will find out where it is playing and drive if I have to…so I think all of CT country needs to call our theaters and demand they bring it here!!

I am sooo disappointed that this movie was not released in Central Texas. I have been looking forward to seeing it. It looks like Willie’s home state would have made the list for early release. Can’t think of any state more ready to see this movie. Send it on to Killeen and Harker Heights!!!! A choosy horse will definitely want Lone Star Beer!

Dallas is not the only city in Texas.

Hopefully it will open here soon or I will have to order it. I can’t wait to see the movie, because the trailer was great. South CArolina is ready for Beer for my Horses!!!!!!

I am a great Toby fan. Loved the First movie, but I too had to wait until it showed on CMT on TV.

I was hoping this movie would be playing in all major movie theaters. But, Nope. I live in California!

I sure would LOVE to see it on the BIG Screen. I sure hope I don’t have to wait too long to get to see it.

    Jennifer in Northern California

Cities movie is in: St Louis, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Little Rock, Indianapolis, Nashville, Milwaukee, Oklahoma City, Buffalo and Tulsa !

I am so glad the movie came here because Toby doesn’t do concerts here, the last time was 3 years ago. I enjoyed it, it was funny, Rodney is a hoot. Can’t wait for the DVD to come out and also CMT to get it but I wish it would play more in the Theaters. It was ranked #1 in 20 of the theaters it played in, not bad even though the money wasn’t that great a lot of people liked it.

What a shame! I was a hugh fan of Toby Keith until his recent political support of Obama. What a hypocrit! His music aligns itself with a conservative fan base and yet it seems to be a fake manipulation. Who are you really Toby? Shout your true political views and align yourself with a guy who has done nothing and see how many fans leave you. I am done with your patriotic conservative music which now seems to be a manipulation of your fans. “What do you think we want to hear now” should be the title of your next tour. Maybe you should go into politics, you seem to be very good at leading people one direction while going a different path.

There are country fans all over this country. We are in Hawaii and are hoping that is released here as well. Toby, if your reading this blog, I know you can make it happen. My husband saw you in Iraq, and truly enjoyed your show. I know we will both enjoy the movie.

It didnt’ open in Chicago yet either. We actually saw Toby in concert on August 1st, & they showed the trailer & it looked awesome. I can’t wait to see it. I would prefer it in the theater but if I have to settle for DVD I am ok with that. I bought the DVD for his 1st movie Broken Bridges & although it didn’t get great reviews I loved it. I watch it all the time.

Ya’ hear the hype, ya begin to look forward to the day it opens and what happens… the movie never hits theater’s anywhere in Montana, Wyoming or Colorado.

    What the hell?? Why not???

The large group of us from all over out here that work in CBM fields, coal mines, oil fields, ranches, in town and rodeo that get together for nights out think this is a great disappointment.

If you’re gonna hold a movie back for “SELECT” cities as in “we really don’t care about anyone not in a metropolis” just say so…

We love the cast - Toby’s music and we are all getting together to go see Rodney Carrington out west her next week.

SO>….. fill us in why the select cities and why are us smaller community 12 hr day and steel-toe boot workers being forgotten about?

What!? Did we all see the same movie here? I’m watching it right now and all I can think is that it’s a self-indulgent piece of *koo-koo!*.

First, the stereotypes against hispanics are outrageous. Whoo! Where did Toby Keith grow up to be thinking these types of things?

Second, can someone please teach these people that a good story has plot? Beginning, middle, end…with conflict? Not just glamor shots scene after scene? Did Toby write this? Gads.

Hint at him, too, to lose some weight, okay? He’s looking awful.

One good thing about the movie? Well, okay. That was a nice paint job on the pickup truck. :b

Toby Keith, I just want to thank ya’ greatly for the movie “Beer for my Horses” because I feel it an honor to have my home county involved- Jackson. It would have been great to see a few more scenes involving landmarks! First time I ever seen this movie. Is there a plan to make another movie/sequel to this? This could flow pretty far with a little more lookin! P.S- what theater did they go to in Altus? Overall, two thumbs up. Thanks for the publicity! You come back now, ya’ hear!
    Thanks again
