Nashville Star's Melissa Lawson Hopes It Goes Right
Melissa Lawson is the latest winner of Nashville Star, and she's already vying for a spot at country radio with "What If It All Goes Right." It's an uptempo song about making the tough choices, even if there's a chance it won't work out. Like, auditioning for a reality show, for example. Or being a mother of five and jumping into a more-than-full-time career in country music. Listen to the new song.

Well fellow blogger Alison called it from day one. I was backing Gabe Garcia, but Melissa’s voice and her entire story pulled at my heartstrings a WHOLE lot. They were my numbers one and two choices.
I love her single “What If It All Goes Right” and wish her all the very best.
That Gabe, I am positive will come out just fine too. I look forward to his moving forward in the country music business.

My husband and I were absolutely thrill at Melissa’s win. It was nice for once on a voting show that people voted for sound & not just appearance. We both like Gabe too and think he will go far. The only that annoys me during the show is the Judges comments. I got so tired of hearing them say, “Don’t stand there, move around.” I didn’t see them say that to Billy Ray Cyrus after his song ha ha ha, maybe they should remember some other singers that don’t jump around the stage like Garth Brooks such as George Strait and others.

I think she has an okay voice. She’s a little pitchy at times and I sometimes get tired of hearing her go up high in a song when she doesn’t have to. Songs aren’t always about the range, their about the message they send to the listener. Sometimes softer songs can be the most beautiful. I was really pulling for Gabe because he was all the way country from the start. Now days you don’t have true country singers, you have country pop and it was refreshing to hear actual country in his voice. I hope that he goes far and country music does not let his talent go to waist. He could definitely be a legend in country music. As for Melissa, I’m sure she will put out some great songs. I’m happy for her and she did prove that singers do not have to be a size 2 to be a great and loved singer!
