Carrie Underwood's Powerful "Just a Dream"
Set in what looks like the 1960s, Carrie Underwood sits with her military love in an old style Cadillac, both trying not to talk about the inevitability of him leaving for war. As she imagines what it would be like to walk down the aisle to marry her sweetheart, Underwood's beautiful smile and white dress effortlessly transform into a black mourning dress and tears that quickly wash away her smile. As her surroundings gracefully change from a moment of joy to one of dread, video director Roman White paints an exquisite picture of a dream turned nightmare.
From hearing the opening line of Eddy Arnold's "Make the World Go Away," I was immediately drawn to this video. With beautiful imagery and Underwood's undeniable talent, lines like "And then they handed her a folded up flag/ and she held on to all she had left of him/ and what could have been" soon come to life. With the U.S. currently at war, I think this powerful song and compelling video will affect listeners and viewers on a personal level, no matter their political standing.

I watched this video for the first time last night. Soon after found myself crying with my head in my hands, I could not stop! This is by far, not even a close second a video that is so deep….only about 5 minutes long and I was affected by it as tho I had watched a 2 hr movie!!!! Roman is brilliant!!! Carrie, oh my…her performance in this I can not put into words, I just can’t. If this video does not win every award it will be a shame. Carrie, this proves why you are the BEST!!!!!!!!!
Mo says:

This video is one of the best Carrie has done. The video, itself, Carrie’s talent and voice should make this song and video a No. 1 hit. This song tears at the heart with the words and emotion acted out by Carrie. A beautiful video.

Carrie is truly remarkable. We’ve known for a long time that she is an amazing singer and interpreter of songs. But we are just now finding just how deep her talent goes as gives a powerful performance in this video as the bride/widow.
Great video.Loved it and it will touch many.

Awesome video! Carrie is amazing.
Joey says:
This is not only a Dream, it’s a masterpiece. This video is about losing a loved one in war, but it could very easily pertain to losing anyone you love. The song itself is a masterpiece. The video just makes it that much more emotional. Congratulations to Carrie and to the director Roman White.
Donna says:
Very emotional video that will strike a cord with anyone who has lost a loved one.
Carrie does an awesome job in this with her acting and voice.
Congratulations

Raw, emotional, and heartbreaking portrayal of love lost. The video pulls you into the intensity of her deep desperation. Bravo. Carrie Underwood and Roman White have given us another brilliant video.

Very powerful, emotional video. Joey and Donna said it right. About this video striking a cord with anyone who has lost a loved one, not just someone in war. I lost my Dad a couple of months ago and with all the emotion Carrie portrays in this video, it got me good. I cried and am still in tears writing this now. You are absolutely brilliant in this video Carrie!! You have an amazing talent. An amazing God given talent that just keeps getting better and better every day. Congrats to you Carrie and to Roman on an awesome video!!!
From a Soldier’s Wife: BrillianT! says:
I think this was the best video yet by Carrie- and I cried like a baby. I have many family members serving in Iraq right now– and I feel that this song and video accurately conveys the pain, denial, shock, anguish and sadness that you feel when you lose someone in battle. Her vocals are beyond anything any country artist has done in a long long time, if ever- and she even surpassed herself in Jesus Take the Wheel- which was also brilliant. But this time- her vocals are more mature, more filled with pain, loss, desperation– as she so badly wants this all to be a dream.
Carrie doesn’t want to accept the fact that her husband died sp she pretends she is actually at her wedding- when in fact, she is at the funeral, and is wearing the black dress the entire time. She is flashing back to her past, the wedding, the night before he was deployed when they were in his car, and the moment she received the news that he died. All of a sudden, reality hits her, and she is brought to the present, at his funeral.. so the dress metaphorically turns from white to black– though it was black all along.
They are in fact married-she is wearing a wedding ring at 3:09 of the video when she gets the letter that her husband died- the letter calls her Mrs. Roberts)
The military only gives a folded up flag to the wife or spouse of the deceased, otherwise it goes to the parents. So they were definetly married.
The last scene- was ominus, sad, haunting- and brilliant. She is holding onto that folded up flag for dear life, as that is all she has left of him.
I am very proud of Carrie for this brilliant song and video. She honors the military and the families who lost people in any war, by accurately portraying the intensity of the emotion and desperation that you feel when you don’t want to believe that your loved one has died.

Wow– I absolutely cannot stop crying. This video is incredibly moving and powerful. I agree that the husband did in fact die at the end, it was a real funeral. The flashbacks to her wedding day and their last night together before he was deployed overseas were just flashbacks. The reality was the funeral…
The tribute to Eddy Arnold in the beginning was a very nice touch- -since the video was set in the 1960’s or Vietnam War era….and they played “Make the World go Away” on the radio in the opening scene. Very nice.
Carrie’s acting skills are very impressive. The video itself was very well done- nice job Roman White! The lighting and special effects was perfect: tasteful and not too much– but just enough to convey the dreamlike quality of the flashback scene to her past wedding day. The dark, eerie funeral scene and ending were brilliant to convey the sorrow and pain of the loss, that Carrie is having problems accepting. She wants it to be “Just a Dream”- but the reality is that he did in fact die. She is holding on to that flag with all her might, hoping she will wake up from this nightmare.. But she won’t- because he is gone. Wow. I am still crying. Carrie’s vocals are the best we have heard of her yet.

I can’t get this song or video out of my head. This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard and the video is so amazing. When Carrie started to cry..I started to cry. I think this song and video will touch anyone who has ever lost a loved one too soon. I can relate to the flag part because I lost my father at age 12 and they handed my brother the folded up flag at my mother’s request..a moment I will never forget. Thank you Carrie and Roman for a superb job! You make us proud!!
Laura says:
This is such a powerful song, I was not prepared for the video though. This video absolutely put me on my knees. My dad died less than two years ago, served 7 tours in Vietnam, purple heart and Naval Cross receipent were just a few of his numerous metals. He had a full military burial and it really makes you stop and think about all they sacrifice. My nephew just returned from Iraq and my son in law is there now. There are so many women and men that are living this every single day. May God bless them and America.

When I watch this video I see my grandparents. My grandad was in Vietnam, luckily he came home. Yet, he was taken by a drunk driver. He drowned in the lake infront of my Aunt’s house. We still have his flag and we hold on to all we have left of him every moment of every day. My mom was just 2 when he died. This video had me balling my eyes out…even while I watched it at work. Great Job Carrie!!

This is just a beautifully written song with a wonderful video to go along with it. I first heard this song a cople months ago when I was scanning iTunes looking for Carie underwood songs and this one caught my attention. I think it’s so great thaat all artists are writing about how much they appreciate the military. I along with most of the people in this coutry greatly appreciate what the mlitary is doing for our country. So, if there are any veterans or present servers reading this, thank you!
Kim says:
What a beautiful video! When I first heard the song when I bought the CD, it gave me chills, as I am sure it gives any military wife. When you first hear the song you think she is at her wedding but it’s actually the funeral and it is shocking. I love how the video changes from the white dress to black. Beautiful song and video. Please never forget the people that serve and pay the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Great job Carrie!

Funny thing-my grandfather is elderly guy-he asked me who is that woman singing. I told her it was Ms. Carrie Underwood-this is what he said… he wants to say Thank to that beautiful young lady-Carrie Underwood.
I think it was a nice watched my granfather to have time time to listened to her song and say Thank you to Carrie. I have tears watching my grandfather.

I absolutely loved the video! Great job Carrie and actually Roman too. I love how it portrays that she is not wanting to believe the reality of the day, in that she’s at his funeral, and wants to believe it’s all just a dream and has flashbacks to the night before he is deployed and her actually walking down the aisle on her wedding day. Very emotional video and she portrayed the grieving widow excellently. My heart goes out to all who may have experienced something like this in their life. God bless our troops!
Jamie says:
After I got home from my daughters yesterday evening I saw that the JAD video was available here. I had just learned of my neighbors unexpected passing earlier in the day. As I watched it I felt a swell of emotion as the events of the day and the story line of the video were different but had many parallels. The white to black transition in the video is quite captivating and very powerful. Carrie does a masterful job playing her role and conveying the emotions of this song and such a loss. The last scene with Carrie holding the flag is a very moving ending that I’m sure hits home with many who have lost loved ones in war. My father was a veteran so there was a flag presentation to my mother at his funeral and that to this day is one of the most emotional memories of that day for me. Another great collaboration by Carrie and Roman. Carrie is so talented - I don’t think there is anything she can’t excel at if she puts her mind to it. Her musics speaks to you and touches your soul. A very compelling and powerful video that takes this song to another level.
Michael Lilly says:
Another smash music video from Carrie. It’s not too hard to portray how a young bride of a military man would react when her man should meet a possible but not wanted death. The reality of the military dependent brought to life in no uncertain terms. It gets a 5 star rating from me.
Dennis says:
AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING. Carrie’s performance is great as always. Roman White is no question the best director. This is really an outstanding and very emotional video. I have to admit, I got carried away by Carrie on this video.

I loved her in this video. I loved when she says ‘promise’ at the end. I loved the way her voice sounds when she speaks. You hear Oklahoma in her voice. I loved ‘Make The World Go Away’ playing at the beginning. It was fitting. I loved that the car sat next to a cornfield with a lit barn in the background. It was as though he was leaving the ultimate place of peace. I loved the guy. I loved the kiss. I was moved by the transition from a gorgeous sunny day to darkness. It must feel that way to the person left behind … like someone has turned the lights out on their whole world. I loved the way her fingers curled on the top of the casket at the end as though she was trying to grasp his hold one last time. Tonight I am going to say a prayer for every family who has lived through such a loss. A loved one gone much to soon. There are many. May God bless and keep them safe.

I am amazed at how much Carrie has grown as a singer and an artist since American Idol. She really shows the emotion now in her voice- her demeanor, and in her overall performance. I think she has an acting career ahead of her. This is the best video since Whiskey Lullaby– and Carrie sings the roof off of this song. My prayers are to the troops fighting for us right now, and for their families. We needed a song like this right now.

A wonderful tribute to all the sacrifices the families of our heroic men and women in uniform are faced with daily. The song and the video were respectively done, without commenting on today’s issues, but showing the heartbreaking reality. While this is about war it is done though the eyes of those loved ones who remain. It is so much more than today, yesterday, 30 years ago, or beyond…it is about the human heartbreak, raw emotions, and overwhelming grief that is forever when love ones die.

“Best Actress Award” for Carrie Underwood and what a classic and gorgeous vocal. From her facial expressions and technically skilled vocal, you can really feel the confusing and life changing aspects of dealing with the tragic loss of her military husband who died in the war. You can really feel the emotional pain and suffering of this young widow. It started with the conversations between the military husband and Carrie in the car, the night before he was deployed to war and then Roman White used a “FLASHFORWARD” cinematic device for the funeral of her husband. Her memories of this church were of their wedding day which flashed into her mind during the funeral. The three scenes of their conversations made it more powerful specially Scene 3. Husband, “I have our whole life plan for us. It’s perfect.” Carrie, “Promise?”. Then they showed Carrie crying in the funeral and then she is in front of the coffin of her husband and she held on to that American Flag given to her, THAT IS WHAT IS LEFT OF HIM. Man…I shed lots of tears. My heart goes to our men and women in uniform and their families fighting for our freedom!!!
Grace says:
I hate this song and video. I don’t think she should have made it. Did she loose her finance at war? No. Therefore, don’t make stuff like this. My fiance is in the army and everyday I fear for his life. I dont’ want to see songs like this and videos. This is a real feeling, fear, and idea that constantly haunts those who are involved. If you’re not in the situation you could not possibly know the feeling. However, I do not want to be reminded of it either. I like most of her songs, but this one gets turned everytime it comes on.
Grace says:
The above comment might have sounded harsh so I am going to restate myself. On a musicial side, the song is good, and the video is beauitful. But, I don’t want to see it or hear it. It just reminds me of what could happen to me. I just think that it is a very intense situation, and to hear on the radio or see it on tv just leaves me depressed all day. On the other hand, I can see where it might bring some people comfort, but in my eyes, there was no need in making it.
Thanks Grace says:
Hi Grace - thanks for clarifying, I was almost done writing a long rebuttal to your statement that Carrie shouldn’t sing a song like that because she hasn’t experienced it. I think the biggest thing to remember is that music is a great way of sparking emotion - whether it be happiness or sadness, tears or laughter. Like you said, the song brings some peole comfort, as it provides a way to either grieve or remember. Also, for people like me, who have never been put in this situation, it really makes us appreciate what the men and women in uniform do for us. To me, this song and video are classic, and Carrie is awesome as usual.
Always Right says:
The actor looks too “year 2000 Hollywood-ish” for something that’s supposed to be set in the 60s.
Janey says:
Grace, I think it is terrible that you have a loved one over there and I pray for their safe return. I think Carrie did this video to honor those people that have loved ones over there. People tend to forget we are at war and there are people losing loved ones in this war and people need to be reminded of that and remember these people. I think it was done out of respect for those that were lost and their families and I applaud Carrie for that.
Sara says:
I also have someone I care about in Iraq. It is not a fiance but still someone I care about very much. Friends of mine have lost loved ones there and the person I care about has lost friends. I too think people should be reminded that there are people over there losing their lives and people here losing loved ones. People need to be reminded of this whether they agree with the war or don’t. I never really followed Ms. Underwood very much but have seen this video and want to thank her for doing a beautiful video and reminding people that there are loved ones being lost in a war right now and the sadness that comes from that and the loved ones that are affected by it. I also think Ms. Underwood did the video to honor those people without getting into whether someone believes in the war or does not.
Always Right Sometimes says:
I am a Veteran of the Vietnam war and I think the actor looked just right. Us old folks didn’t look much different than young people do in 2000. I was in the Marine Corps in Vietnam in 1965-66. I lost friends and family in that war and attended many Military funerals. This video revisited a time I had tried to forget for many years. But after watching the video several times a 66 year old former Marine started to cry. Afterwards I thought back to those days and actually feel like a weight has been lifted. I still tear up after watching the video, but is has been a sort of therapy for me. I am sure it will effect others in the same way. It was a video that needed to be made. A reminder of what real life is all about. Thank you Miss Underwood and Mr. White.
julissa says:
hi grace my heart goes out to you and the many families who have a loved one in iraq right now. i don’t have a loved one in the military but i can only imagine how difficult it would be for anyone who has someone out there. i appreciate our men so much and the sacrifices they give up just to be there and “thank you’s” are never enough for all that they go thru. i can understand why you don’t want to watch this video it probably really hits home to your heart. i think though that we need to be reminded especially people like me who don’t have anyone serving in iraq, we need to see reality and really just take the time to say prayers for all the men and women out there fighting. this video has touched many people even people like our veterans who have served their term and it is heartwarming because you really do and should appreciate life whether you have someone in war or not life is to short. carrie delivers that emotion and really makes you feel for the families out there who have lost someone because of war…i’m sorry that this video brings you down but if it makes you feel any better it makes people appreciate your fiance and all of the men and women serving in the military and the men that came before them…i think carrie made people really think of our “Heroes”.
Jackie says:
Dear Grace, I know that all of us are praying for you and the safe of your loved one. I have seen so many tearful goodbyes when our military guys and girls are deployed. I have also seen the most joyful embraces when they safely return. May the warmth and love of your family and friends comfort you. I know that Carrie would not have wanted to have caused you any additional grief. There have been many inspirational songs written about war. This becomes an honor to our nation and heroes. I think eventually after the intense pain of loss becomes more bearable we can realize just what great accomplishments our loved ones did for us all. This video shows just what our soldiers and their families give up to keep us the great country that we are. Thank you and your loved ones. We are forever grateful.
bresenolouie says:
Dear Grace, I am very proud about your fiance and our men and women in uniform and their families fighting for our freedom - OUR GREAT HEROES. Without them, we can not live in peace and enjoy the blessings of God in our great country. This is the kind of song and music video that will remind many people how great is your fiance and you, suffering the emotional tension brought about by this heroic act. Ultimately, it is up to God what will happen in the future. Keep the FAITH and God will surely take the wheel!!! God bless your fiance and our men and women in uniform and their families including you, who are fighting for our freedom!!!

I have been a very strong Carrie fan since she began on American Idol, and I was expecting a wonderful video, but, boy this blew my mind. My dad was in the army, along with my uncles, and now one of my brothers. My brother was recently married, and although he is not in Iraq, it’s hard not to think about what could happen if he gets deployed. I also have known friends of my family who left for Iraq, but never made it back alive. And I have also known people who made it back alive, but missing a part of their body. Our soldiers do great things, and they know what can happen. Yet, they still go out and fight for our country. Carrie did a great job honoring the sacrifices our soldiers are faced with daily. Her vocals are stunning, and she portrays great emotion. Honestly, I don’t think there is any singer that could have recorded this song with such raw emotion. I cry when I see this video. It’s a great video and Carrie and Roman couldn’t have done a better job with this. Thank you Carrie!

Thank you everyone for your amazing comments too– I am crying just from reading your comments. lol Wow– this video has opened up Pandora’s box– in a good way. Maybe we need to talk about this sometimes– instead of teh media always bashing the war and our country/president as a whole. It gets tiresome really– to only hear the negative on the news– when we should be honoring the troops and praising their sacrifice. I am proud of Carrie for doing this– without making it a political issue one way or another. The video is not pro War or anti-war, but simply– pro troops. :) Nice job with that as no one wants anymore Dixie Chicks drama. God Bless the troops, past and present.

Carrie does an amazing and wonderfully believable job in the video. I have to admit it was a bit uncomfortable to watch Carrie crying because most of the time, she always has such a beautiful smile and that’s what we’ve come to know her by. But, Roman White is an extremely talented director and I think the video perfectly captures the raw emotion of the song in which great hope quickly turns to great despair.

So everyone is just dying over this video cause it is the most brilliant thing ever and Carrie she is so evenly keeled.
She will be like “Thank You” the way she always is so gracious. Then she’ll see that food services has her favorite Vitamin Water on ice and she like “Woo Hoo!” She just so humble about all her talent and sucess. I really don’t think she even knows how special she is, how much she means to all of us, and how we would all be so gravely effected if she weren’t in our lives. She is a far better actor than Chace Crawford and has little experience. I think God has given her so many gifts. She uses each one to his glory and the glory of others. Wow, what a lady.
P.S Roman White, You are brilliant. Jeffrey Kasser, excellent performance opposite Ms. Underwood. She is a Miss if you didn’t catch that.

VietVet. says:
What a load of crap. Just making money on the heartaches of others that really go through this type of tragedy. Typical for Underwood.
Justin says:
Carrie is amazing!! Even for a 17 year old like me it’s very easy to get emotional from this video.

I love this video. Carrie does it again. When I heard that Just a Dream was her next single I could not wait to see how the video matched the song. Carrie and the director did a great job. LOVE IT!!!
Jessica says:
Everytime I heard this song on her cd I cried. It is a very emotional song and now the video makes you cry even more. This is a excelent video. Another number 1 for Carrie. Way to go Carrie keep up the great work!!!!
Sheri says:
The first time I heard this song on the CD I was touched to my core. I could not wait to see how this would be as a video and I am amazed at how beautiful and how raw the emotions are. I am the daughter, sister, wife, friend of many veterans and currently deployed military. I know the feeling of losing a loved one. I have been fortunate not to have lost anyone in battle (knock on wood), but know the heart ache of losing a loved one. My father served in the Navy during the Korean War and we lost him to cancer when he was in his 60’s. My Grandfather served in World War II, we lost him to Alzheimers. I watch my Mother and my Grandmother both greive over the loss of their husbands and they were both handed “folded up flags” at the funerals. I thank ever person everyday who gives up their “normal” life to serve and protect our country. Bless you one and all. Past, future and present.
Carrie is an amazing singer and this is a truly amazing video.
mikayla says:
it is typical of carrie to do amazing wonderful music and videos…so “vietvet” everyone is touched even those that have served in the military love this…so you must not have a heart. this wasn’t done to hurt anyone or cause heartache…what are you talking about. Actually never mind that qyuestion no one cares!! …the majority rules and is in favor for miss carrie underwood!!!
Sherry says:
Wow, what an awesome song and video. It is not to difficult to put yourself in this situation and experience all the emotions those families who face this grief and loss. Thanks to the writers of the song and all involved in this production. Thanks CMT for providing it for us to view. Roman and Carrie have done it again.
Marti says:
CARRIE THIS IS FABULOUS - YOU ARE A REMARKABLE - ROMAN ABSOLUTLY BRILLANT - BEST THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO US (the public) IS PUTTING THE TWO OF YOU TOGETHER — THANKYOU
Jeanne says:
WOW!!…what a powerful song. I would say Carrie has another hit on her hands!!!
Heather says:
As an Army wife I have to say this video is an incredible example of my worst fear and the reality for so many other wives and husbands that are left wishing it were just a dream. Carrie did such an amazing job with this song and video. This really hit home with me and I don’t think anyone else could’ve had a better performance of it. Thank you Carrie!
Lynn says:
I’m surprised Ms Underwood decided to take this journey into her career. Waaaay too much mascara and lashes. This subject is serious and sad. No question she has a terrific voice and an ability to project her feelings in a song. Let’s get real and out of “hollywood” for this one. All the comments from most folks (women) on this site refer to being “overcome and crying”………lose the “put together look” ,Ms. Underwood and let the red eyes, no make up and puffiness of sorrow show itself. Whoops……..that wouldn’t sell. I forgot.
Navy2000 says:
“VietVet” you should look deep into your heart and understand that even though you had a bad reaction to this video other Military families are crying tears of emotions that are letting them see that people do care about what is going on in Iraq and around the world that has our families torn apart. I have a future Brother-in-Law who is on the front line in Iraq and it tears my heart looking at my sister when she can’t get a simple letter or phone call due to him being on a mission that he might not make it back from.
Miss. Underwood has done so many wonderful songs and videos that just pull your emotions in so many ways that she is one person who will never understand what her music does for her fans.
I lost my grandfather on Easter Sunday a few years back and he served in World War 2. I never thought that I would have cried for so long and for so many years that I just can’t express that this song is so so true.
Katie Roberts says:
It was a really good video. It really makes u want to cry and it makes u want to look at what wifes whos husbands in the war and how they feel and what happens when their husband dies and its so sad. And i think thats how this video puts it that way.
Rick Bowser says:
What an amazing video, this song/video will get an award,,look out, great job to ever one that was working to make this video…
Dustin says:
OMG! This video is AMAZING! I LOOOOOOOOOOVE IT! It is Carrie’s BEST VIDEO YET and she has a lot of good ones too! I hope this hits #1 FAST AND STAYS THERE!!!!
KAREN KUREK says:
Very powerful and emotional message in this video!! I love Carrie Underwood and this song makes me cry every time I hear it and now the video does the same thing!! Every one can relate to this video at some point in their lives!!
I feel Carrie did a beautiful job at showing the emotion in her vocals as well as in her acting!! Great job Carrie and Roman!!!
Libby says:
This is by far Carrie’s best video!
She portrays this video very well.
I have only had very few videos make me cry like this one before, but this one did.
Linda says:
I agree with all the above, especially about the too much make up, it took away from it a bit as I was thinking, “Yuk, they put that on with a trowel - too thick. That doesn’t even look like she’s been crying, it wouldn’t show thru those huge fake eyelashes anyway.” It will be a great song to listen to on the radio.
Bobbin says:
What an amazing song/video. Carrie continues to out do every project she works on. I couldn’t imagine the pain a loved one goes through. I hope all Americans thank God everynight for all that these men/women/young people do for our country and the sacrifices there famlies face every
day. Thank you Carrie for your amazing voice and thank you to all the services keeping our country from harms way!
KAREN KUREK says:
VietVet if you dont like the video just say so and be done with it–no need to be down right nasty about it?????
and yes I pray for the men and women who have fought for our freedoms everyday and their families too!! Thank you Carrie and Roman for making us more aware of the impact the emotions have on the family members too!!!
Renee says:
Carrie is brilliant in this movie…I mean video. It’s absolutely amazing and couldn’t have been been portrayed any differently! This video sure gets my vote for video of the year. Emotional, real and just amazing! Carrie is #1!
taylor says:
WOW thats amazing!!!
i cry every time…
no matter what she sings it hits a spot in ur heart!!!
keep up the good work carrie
luv ya
Steven says:
Hmm, I was seriously considering joining the army, when I told my girlfriend she wasn’t very happy… A couple days after I told her, she came online and told me to look up 2 songs. Its your love - Tim Mcgraw & this one here. She told me the first one, “Its your love,” fit our relationship perfectly, it did indeed. She also said that the second one (this song) worried her… When I watched it she started to talk to me about how much she didn’t want me to go, she ended up bringing me to tears on the subject, saying she didn’t what happened in this video to happen to us. I really don’t think Ill go anymore, I wouldn’t be able to stand the thought of leaving her.
Robert says:
AWESOME,GREAT AND FANTASTIC! Great job Carrie.
Hey Lynn says:
Lynn (and others complaining about fake eyelashes), this was set in the 1960’s when all that make up and fake eyelashes were very popular. It’s note “hollywood”… it’s a video reflecting how life was back then! Geez. How can you watch this video and listen to these lyrics and that’s all you notice? Sounds like someone carries a negative bias.
Hi Lynn says:
go to www .ehow.com/how_2216435_apply-1960s-style-eye-makeup.html
This website just proves my point!
I agree says:
Yup… very well done. Retro 60’s makeup, with dark eyeliner and mascara, artificial eyelashes, and pale pink lipstick. Perfectly executed.
mary says:
carrie is brillant and beautiful in this video. she does a great job with all of her song’s. my heart melted with this video. i will definitely vote this video number 1. her voice is so inspiring. great job carrie.
Cheri Nelson says:
This video is so touching, heartbreaking and Carrie sings it to s perfect, flawless wonder once again! i can’tr stop watching the video but yet I cry every time I watch it! Carrie, you are so brilliant in this video and show all the emotion it needs plus your beautiful voice singing throughout the video makes it even better! You and Roman White definitely have another #1 easily on the charts with this one! Great job you guys! I luv yous, Carrie, you just keep on getting better all the time!!
Lynneka says:
Carrie along with Mr White, have produced a picture of The American Military Family, covering both the Veteran, and those we leave behind. This picture was first painted back in the 1700’s, and happens everytime we have gone to battle. While you are free to agree or disagree with “WAR”,
Soldiers do not get a choice, and their family gets no choice or say in the matter.
I have family ties back to the “Alamo” and near every battle since. The most amazing thing is that I have seen a
Soldiers Funeral, a Fire Fighters Funeral, and a Police Officers Funeral and they are quite similar in that the Hero leaves with “No Promise” of returning “Home” to those they leave behind. To the VietVet, “Welcome Home Brother!”
To those who looked only at the makeup, “You Missed The Song! Thank your Prayers, we have Hero’s who will tell you, “It’s My Job!” To those who fight for it…Life has a flavor…the protected never know! God Bless the USA and those who serve her.
Lynn in Tennessee says:
From the first time I saw Carrie Underwood try out for American Idol I have been a FAN. After watching her humility in accepting her entrance into the Grand Ole Opry and winning all of the awards, I have remained a FAN. Now she does this video that just rips your heart out. Carrie you are a wonderful ambassador for country music and I hope you keep that wonderful attitude. I don’t think anyone could have done a better job in that video. You were believeable and took us all on that journey with the young widow. You are an incredible talent.
Dottie in NC says:
Too think over 4,100 American flags have been folded and handed too a mother, husband, wife, daughter, sister or son during the Iraq war…
this video captures the essence of hope and the depths of dispair…Carrie Underwood is an amazing artist who will endure.
Brenda Silva says:
Wow!!! This video made me cry and gave me chills…it gave a whole new meaning to the song…Carrie and Roman are so brilliant together…it better win every award there is to give an artist and director for such an amazing video.
Daryl in TX says:
WOW. Speechless. Have loved everything she has done - but the emotion in this was raw. Felt the conveyed pain.
Loved her from her first audition - looks like she won’t be letting us down for a very long time.
Way to go Carrie!!!
Beth from Indiana says:
Wow! what an awesome performance by Carrie Underwood.
This is definitely my favorite video. This video will
hit home for many. It has touched my heart as I’m sure it
will for anyone who watches it. Way to go Carrie!!!!!
julissa says:
why do people not get it that this video is based in the 60’s,…the old car the song playing “make the world go away” her hairstyle…they have to fit her make up to the 60’s generation! …it’s not like she wears this everyday!!…but yet they don’t see the emotion in her face and in her voice ??? and the beautiful lyrics…look at the whole picture people you guys are noticing her make-up??? you guys are superficial. carrie and roman have done a wonderful job and honestly it just makes me respect our men and women more and their families they sacrifice so much and God Bless them and bring them home safely…i will say a prayer…thank you carrie for reminding us how real this is…carrie is awesome and amazing. people don;t like her your missing out on someone who is not hollywood…but genuine!
Ginger says:
The minute I heard this and saw her perform it with the special cd that came with Carnival Ride, I knew this was going to be huge. After viewing the video clip it just brought tears to my eyes. Perfectly done Carrie ! I have loved and watched you since your audition !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Knew you were going to win. You are truly an “American Idol”. The best one so far !!!!!!!! Thank You
Larry Bernstein says:
I met Carrie Underwood at a “Meet and Greet” just before her recent performance at Konocti Harbor (Kelseyville, California). She is absolutely gorgeous in person, sweet, engaging, personable, and friendly. Her show was spectacular, and she put every ounce of her energy into the performance of each song. Her “Just A Dream” video is no less spectacular and poignant than her live performance. She has an uncanny ability to portray her videos as if she truly is living them. “Just A Dream” evokes tears precisely the way it would if it were a “real life” happening. Kudos to Carrie and her production team in conceiving and making this powerful video!
Paula says:
Its really hard to make an original comment. The other posters have said it magnificiently. Carrie is awsome and I am sure she will continue to bring us more fabulous songs and videos. This one is a heart wrenching. The best female artist of this era.
Aubrey says:
Best work yet. I am just blown away with Carrie’s performance. Another big hit for Carrie.
The hits just keep coming. She is amazing . She never fells to take it to the top.
Lilknock says:
Brilliant! Great work Carrie and Roman. I am proud to be a die hard Carrie fan!!
Marcy says:
Like Paula said, it’s hard to make an original comment but I thought this video was brilliant. I’ve been a huge Carrie fan since I first saw her audition on Idol and I don’t think anyone but her could have done this video/song. When I heard it would be a single, I hoped they wouldn’t make the video be in the “present” b/c I think that would have been too difficult for some to watch. I know how people feel now though b/c my brother is a Marine and was in Iraq a couple years ago and saw his best friend die so I know how it feels to be scared for someone’s life and have your heart ache for others. God Bless our military and our country. Well done Carrie and Roman!
Doug Hite says:
All I can say is if this Song and Video dont touch your heart, you don’t have one to touch. “Carrie” I thank you for a Song and Video VERY, VERY well done. If it don’t go to the top of charts no ones will. Keep up the good work!!!
DaughterofVietnamVet says:
I loved this song the first time I heard it on Carrie’s cd, and thought it would make an awesome video. My father, who was a VietNam Vet was killed in March 2008 in a motorcycle accident. My Mother was given “the folded up flag”, and TAPS was played. Those moments were the most emotional moments of my life- words can not describe all the feelings one is experiencing as that flag is handed to the family. A few days later, my daughter reminded me of this song, “Just A Dream”, and the words of this song even apply to me and my emotions as a daughter of veteran who died at age 59 in a accident. An accident so untimely the weekend after Easter. He was riding his Harley with buddies - his next favorite to riding the bike with my Mom. I have thought many times, “If the accident was only a dream, but infact it has been a nightmare that I am continuing to live through.” I ride down the road the accident happend on many days just as a normal route, and all the emotions from the whirlwind of those last days in March fill my heart again. Carrie, you have made a spectacular video again, and I look forward to more songs and videos of yours.
heather says:
we like all carrie underwood music
Michelle Roberson says:
As I watched the video, my hair began to stand up from the goose bumps. Wonderfully done!
Mary says:
What a talent Carrie is…………beautifully portrayed. I just hated to see her so unhappy. The video definitely had me in tears.
MarineEmbassyGuard-Saigon-043075 says:
To “VietVet”, you made it home…so many didn’t… Your bitter attitude is “Typical” of someone who is “a load of crap”. Move on. This song/video is for those that can respect & appreciate the sacrifice of brave people. Only those that have lost so much really know. Way to go Carrie!!!!!
Simon says:
Look I’m a guy and this video makes me want to ball. Carrie is absolutely AMAZING! Taylor Swift is fun but if you want true beautiful music from the heart Carrie is your girl. As soon as I bought the album I fell in love with this song. The video is even better! Carrie one of the best artists the music industry has!
SGT Scott Johnson says:
The first time I heard this song on her new album I was immediately drawn to it because I have seen firsthand the emotional pain endured by loved ones lost in the war. Carrie and Roman have done an exceptional job of capturing the emotion throughout this song and video, and they have done it in such a way that leaves politics out if the equation. Thank you Carrie and Roman for another sure-fire award winner.
BILL says:
WHAT A AMAZING TEAM CARRIE&ROMAN! HOPE THEY HAVE A VERY LONG RELATIONSHIP.
Linda says:
This is the first time I’ve heard this song. But, wow! It really makes you appreciate all of our men and women in uniform and their families! I too, like so many others, have been a fan of Carrie’s since her first audition on American Idol. She has been a wonderful ambassador of country music. It definitely should get nominated for best video of the year! Thank you, Carrie and Roman!
Becky says:
I skimmed over all of the postings and for the most part I agree with everyone… there’s not much postive that can be said that hasn’t already. But for those of you with only something negative to say… maybe next time you should just keep your comments to yourself. First of all, it is just a music video. It is a compilation of a couple of Nashville Artistic Genuises who have come up with a wondefully played out story to a song, that as unfortunate as it is, is a reality in our world today. I am blessed to not have someone close to me in the military and do not have to wait at home for that letter to be delivered by military personnel. But for those who do sit at home and those who are fighting for our country… GOD BLESS YOU! Maybe this song is meant to relate to those of us who aren’t affected so that we can sympathize with those widowers who are. And maybe it will help those who are touched by this reality through their emotion. I give kudos to Carrie for adding a song like this to her collection. Why not? As a HUGE Carrie fan, this is the first time I truly applaud her acting skills. We expect too much from singers… they have to have great vocals, great interviewing skills, great videos, great concerts… and that is hard to attain in just one person. But this video has shown that she is only getting better and better! Thanks to Roman White as he continues to only produce the best!
Mike says:
Such a great talent to make a video such as this but…..
Do we really need to depict sorrow when we live in todays world and see in the media the suffering of people who have really lost a loved one serving our country.
Always Right Sometimes says:
Mike, in a word, yes. It is easy to be jaded when every day we hear about the war. Those people who are not really touched by the wars, and yes, there are people in that catagory, tend to forget the personal side. These people do need to be reminded what our heros and their familys face everyday. It is not business as usual. It is not a statement for or against the war. It is a pro family statement. This is a special song and video.
Omega says:
We have seen far too many faces come home in flag draped coffins, however, that is nothing near what we see everyday in this country because some hoodrat thinks his street or piss ant drug trade is better than some other hoodrat’s.
Damn good performance!
AshleyR says:
I have waiting for this video and after watching it over nd over again, I can’t get enough of it, despite the sadness in it. This is by far her best video yet especially showing her acting.I understand the pain that some of you may feel watching this video. To this day it still reminds me of what almost happened to my father when he was in Iraq 3 years ago. He almost died but because the oil truck he was driving was running behind, they weren’t on the bridge that collapsed if they were running on time he would’ve lost his life they day. To this day it still brings tears to my eyes just as this video does. I hope that everyone’s loved one has a safe return. And as far as I’m concerned if you are going to bash this video or Ms. Carrie Underwood, then please do not post your comments here.
Jasmine says:
I like just a few country songs and singers, but when I voted for Carrie to win American Idol I knew she would be an asset to country music. This song and video is fantastic and I started to cry as I watched and listened.
Judy says:
I have read so many of these wonderful comments and am not through yet, but I just had to let everyone know my feelings. Carrie, is the most talented, beautiful person to come on the music scene in years. She has gotten me back into listening to country music. I used to listen all the time, then I lost my Dad, my brother at age 58, and my sister at age 60. I was so down I really didn’t want to listen to any of these sad songs. Well, about that time Carrie won American Idol Season 4, and I so admired her that I have been following her closely. She is absolutely the beautiful person and has a God gifted talent. Her vocals are wonderful. She has a range that nobody can get close to these days. I felt this video was just what we needed to remind everyone of all of the soldiers that have given up their lives for us, and also for the many people that have been left behind. She was brilliant in this video and she and Roman work so well together. Roman is a wonderful director and he also has the best to work with.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you that have ever lost anyone, or have someone deployed right now.
I think this song and video will go to #1 real quick and stay for a while. It is the best song and video I have seen year to date. Not to mention Carrie has been on USO Tours and has an idea how awful it is over there. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND OUR TROOPS!!!!!!!!
Cheri Nelson says:

This was a very emotional video, I could not stop crying. I had been waiting for this video. My brother is currently enlisted in the military and is going to be a dad in three months. I could just imagine the pain and heartache if something would ever happen to him. It would just tear me into pieces. We support our troops wherever they are! Great video Carrie and your voice is amazing.
Rev.William Swann says:
Disabled Vietnam Vet here, and I too loved Carrie since her first audition for American Idol. I can’t believe how much she has improved, and how she can convey the emotion of someone who has lost their everything. I appreciate the comments of all the veterans, even those who are unable to appreciate the absolute greatness of this song and Video. If you’ve been in combat you have earned the right to say what is on your mind, no matter how unpopular or negative your opinion might be.
If enough people are touched by this video, maybe they will remember to pray for the safe return of our military people serving in harm’s way. Thanks you to all our service people world wide for protecting our right to express our opinions and our way of life may GOD protect you all and bring you safely home? Thank you Ms. Underwood for the song, your potrayal of a Soldiers Widow, and the great video.
Linda says:
I just watched the video for the first time today. It is

I’m not surprised by this video based upon the visually moving words that touched my heart when I first listened with great anticipation to the 2nd CD of Carrie’s career.
May it keep fresh in the minds of all American’s, those who have given and will continue to give their lives for all of us who are priviliged to live in this great country.
Thank you to the writer for the indelible words,to Carrie for her incredible talent and the insight of the producer for bringing this beautiful and moving video to all of us. If this isn’t the number one video right now, I don’t know why.

Only threw tears can I comment on this video, it is the most powerful video I have ever seen. I can’t help but wonder how true this video is for people now and in the past that have had loved ones that are fighting in a war,and have died. And with Carries powerful voice and the direction of Roman White they have captured what a person in this potition goes through. Great job to the both of you!!!! Priyank Pillai says:
What a beautiful song… Carrie truly does wonders here, delivering to the listener the full spectrum of the narrator’s anger, agony, and despair -a testament to the power of her voice. This song has forced me to think about all the families that have been broken because of the war; it handles the issue with great sensitivity and proves to be truly heart wrenching. I’ve become an even bigger fan of this all-American girl because of this song… Go Carrie!
Stewman65 says:
Carrie is always so amazing in her singing, performing and videos; and this song and video are no exception although it’s so so difficult watching Carrie cry like this. Tears are one thing but sobbing and shaking as she did really got to me and I know it will get to others as well. Everyone can relate to loss and broken dreams. I am glad she made this video and I hope it gets the recognition it deserves and I believe it will. Carrie, you’re simply the best!!!!
Wynelle says:
Carrie, tears are still running down my cheeks. I received a flag like you portrayed. It brought back so many memories. May God richly bless you and always listen to his voice.

Carrie has done it again. As you remember this is her 2nd video that recognizes our Military. She is wonderful & I’m glad to see her hidden talents coming forth. Sometimes a person just needs to have that chance to bring their talents to the front of their life. Carrie is an amazing young lady and I am great full that she shares herself with all of us. We could learn a lesson or two from Carrie. Carrie THANK YOU
for helping us make it thru each day……………

Myself as a veteran, a veteran’s wife, and having family members that have gone to Iraq on tours, I can really relate to this song. It wasn’t that long ago that my brother served a tour of duty in Iraq, and his son (my nephew) in Afganistan. My mom was a royal wreck for over a year…so worried something might happen to them. It was a very hard time for all of us…going through all of those emotions, and wondering is he might not come home again. I think Carrie sings JAD brilliantly, and the video is her best yet. And others who remark on her make-up aren’t feeling anything. I don’t understand how her makeup can distract them from feeling anything. Maybe they need to be in the service going over there in some of the soldiers places, and they’d be seeing things a lot differently.
Grace says:
Carrie, You have touched my heart again!!! Love you
WHAT says:
Sorry, but the only reason carrie sang this song and shot this video is money. She wants more album sales and more awards. She is completely shallow and fake!
Rain says:
Sorry, but the only reason WHAT posted the above comment is because she’s JEALOUS with Carrie’s achievement. She wants more ATTENTION to her HATE comment. She is completely SHALLOW and CLUELESS about what she posted!
WHAT says:
I am not jealous of carrie in the least. I would not want to be her, with her fake smile and “I am perfect” attitude. She is all about fame, fortune and being perfect, which as much as all of you would like to believe, she is not! Nobody is perfect!
Gloria says:
What a song and video. I’ve always been a big fan of Carrie and she just keeps getting better and better. I have tears as I write about the video. I just love this CD.
I say to WHAT get a life and you sound SHALLOW and CLUESLESS.
CJ says:
WHAT - you need to get some hearing aids. Carrie has a powerful voice and touches so many. Her Voice is deffinately God given. It is just frosting on the cake that she is beautiful alos.
April says:
WOW!! I was already a Carrie fan but now I’m an even bigger one. This video really helps people to understand what military families go through when a loved one is lost at war. I think she is one of the greatest modern day country stars. In my book she ranks right up there with Tammy and Dolly! Keep the hits coming!
bresenolouie says:
To WHAT says:, be careful with what you are spreading. ULTIMATELY, it is up to God what will happen to those people with BAD OBJECTIVE. Jesus, please take the wheel. Jesus, took the wheel of CARRIE’S PHENOMENAL SUCCESS because “Jesus, Take The Wheel” is the lead single of “Some Hearts” Album and Carrie sang “Angels Brought Me Here” at the Finale of Season 4 American Idol Show!!! Remember Mel Gibson’s “The Passion Of The Christ”? How can an OLD STORY ABOUT CHRIST and was shown in television and many theaters so many times will have a billion dollar success worldwide?

an army wife says:
i do not think this vidio is beutiful or wonderfully done. My husband is in the middle east just like every other husband on post. I’ts not fair that she can make a video that potrays an event that could be very real. We, as actual military wives, do not need to be reminded every day by someone eles “work” as an entertainer, that this is not a dream, but very much reality. I have read that others think that this video is so beutiful, a soldiers death is not beutiful nor should it be glamorized at all. I don’t apreciate the thought thta this song and video is bringing in so much popularityand money to her from the suffering from the real military wives. We would rather see the possitive and not the negative of our husbands and wives dying.
Carrick says:
Carrie Underwood’s “Just a Dream” proves only one thing: no topic is too sacred, no sacrifice too honorable when it comes to the entertainment industry’s attempts to make money. Using the sacrifices of our noble men and women at war, while manipulating the pain experienced by the forgotten heroes of this war, our military families, is a new low, even for the entertainment industry. But why should we be surprised? Carrie Underwood has only followed the lead of a growing number of country music artists who have used the pain and suffering of military families to sell their own records. Tim McGraw’s “If You’re Reading This” follows the same path toward platinum: tug at the heartstrings of the American people by reminding them of a sacrifice that only a small percentage of this nation will ever experience. Create a song that leaves the pain and sadness just close enough to feel real, but far enough away to forget as soon as the next song comes on. Of course, that’s true for all except the 180,000 plus Soldiers and families who’s greatest fear doesn’t pass with the ending of a song. I am, of course, speaking of those men and women who have chosen of their own free will to go off to war on their country’s behalf and the families that have choosen to stand bye them until they return. Their fears, those to which Carrie Underwood plays to in her song, are played out with every passing minute in their minds. They spend a year at a time attempting to avoid the negative thoughts of war and reassure themselves that surely they will be the lucky ones, surely their loved ones will return home. Of course, now that the music industry realizes there is money to be made with songs like “Just a Dream,” I doubt our military families will find much peace–well, not in country music anyway.
networksavvy says:
I don’t know why? until now i keep watching the video. I was facinated with her voice. Very powerful voice that i was carried away. And on top of that watching the video is a bonus.
You Know Carrie, I will tell this to you-you will go far. You are a sweet lady, educated young woman, you are devoted of what you are doing, and seems that you are a true person inside and outside. More power to you - Your family, friends and fans will always supporting you. Just be yourself and you will be okay for a long yearsssssssssss. GOOD LUCK YOUNG LADY!
arw says:
I agree with Carrick. Only happy songs, ones about waving wheat or blossoming flowers and pretty butterflies, should be recorded and played on the airwaves. Emotional pain ought not be expressed in any art form. Life’s to short. They should ban movies, poetry and art that attempt to address the uncomfortable and worrisome feelings. And what’s this about the Church dwelling on the death of Jesus?
Katie!!!! says:
This is my all time favorite song!!! in this video you look beautiful!!! You are my favorite singer… no one can sing as well as you!! and this song is beautiful i cry every time i hear it!! Don’t listen to anyone who says this is a bad song or shouldn’t be recorded because this is amazing and really touches people’s heart!!!! KEEP IT UP!!! love your work!!
Lauren says:
this is an amazing song. it is so sad though and makes me cry every time! she is my favorite singer and has the best voice ever!

who is the man that portrays her husband in this video? anyone know?
TNCarrieFan says:
I loved this video!! I’m a big Carrie Underwood fan and this is one of her best by far. HOWEVER,I am confused by some things in the video so as I was searching for other’s opinions, I came upon this blog. I see others have differing opinions too….
When did this story take place????…seems 60s, the old car, hair, clothes, song on the radio at the beginning of the video, etc. BUT THE LETTER HANDED TO HER AT 3:19 IS DATED “JUNE 16, 2008.”
Was she ever actually married?? I agree with what others pointed out…flag given to her (presumes spouse), the letter is dated to Mrs… and regrets to inform her that her “husband” was killed. BUT I’M CONFUSED BY THE RING. SHE DOES NOT HAVE ONE ON WHEN SHE HUGS HIM GOODBYE BEFORE DEPLOYMENT, THE LYRICS SOUND MORE LIKE THEY WERE ENGAGED ABOUT TO BE MARRIED WHEN HE IS KILLED. THE RING ON HER HAND WHEN SHE RECEIVED THE LETTER LOOKS LIKE AN ENGAGEMENT RING ONLY. ????
No matter what I love the song and Carrie looks gorgeous in the video. I just hoped the video would clarify the lyrics that were confusing me.
Marine’sFiancee says:
This video/song is one of the hardest i have ever had to experience. My fiance is soon deploying and it hurts to be reminded of the chance that he wont come home, that we wont get married and the chance that my happy ending may never come true. I understand were all of you may see this as a beautifully written song but you obviously dont realize how completly possible this is for a lot of women like myself and how much pain and fear this song brings. I am 19 years old,Im young, my fiance and I have a lot to live for and it saddens me that people can make money of the very real fears of losing the one you love the most, the one you live for. This song portrays the exact situation I am in, and I most certainly dont need a song to remind me of the horrible things that could happen. I have always been a Carrie Underwood fan and this song wont change that, I just wish everyone would realize how much heartache and fear that comes along with this song. I could be having the best day and then this song will come on the radio and my mind cant help but wonder “what if”, and thats not fair to me or anyother military wife fiancee or girlfriend.

OMG! i bawled my eyes out!! Carrie is too amazing for words to describe; this video is beyond belief and it blew me away.
Lilly says:
Carrie is a wonderful singer, and i think she has brought up something important. the fact that war is causeing pain and suffering. we should bring our troops home, and put and end to war and fighting. i’m saying, thank you Carrie for your inspirational and touching song. i’m writing a song like this.
Dee says:
This video is sooooo touching. Great job, Carrie. Does anyone know who the actor is who portrays the soldier? I am so glad this song is doing so well.
Jill says:
Former MTSU baseball pitcher Jeff Kasser plays the male lead in Carrie Underwood’s video for “All American Girl.” Jeff has been represented by Nashville’s The Block Agency for two years.
After great success locally, including a national print job with Fruit of the Loom and the cover of Nashville Lifestyles, Jeff moved to Los Angeles to further his acting and modeling career.
“When the lead for the Carrie Underwood video was being cast, we submitted Jeff, even though he is across the country,” says agency President Mark Block. “Director Roman White and the terrific people at Revolution Pictures decided to book Jeff as the male lead, and in the blink of an eye he was on a flight cross-country to shoot the video!”
Jill says:
Jeff Kasser did both videos - All American Girl and Just A Dream.
Jay says:
I am a very big fan of Carrie. When I watched it the first time my sister brought it up to me, I got a little teary eyed, and so did she her husband is in iraq and he is there serving for our country but carrie She really put alot of emotion into that video. I think it is a GREAT song, and there are alot of people going through things like that.My brother is in Iraq and he is planning on getting married and i hate to see that truley happen but this video is amazing and carrie underwood shows how talented she is.
Colleen says:
Your song is so beautiful, Carrie.
I love your music.
This song made me cry…especially at the end when you walked down the aisle to the casket..
Is there a reason you wrote this song??
Btw I still love you and your music :)
Army Wife says:
Why would you make a video like this? Why sing such lyrics? At a time like this, people with loved ones at war hear this song and hurt. I hurt.
Karen says:
I loved it.
Carol says:
This hits so close to our home. My daughter was engaged to a wonderful Captain in the Army. We were down to 4 more months until he would be home from Iraq. Eight more months until they would have been married (June 20th, 2009). The wedding was all planed. Then on September 25th in the morning my daughter got the door knocking and was told that her fiancee of 2 years was killed in action in Iraq by a suicide bomber. My heart aches for her as I watch her go through each and every day.
My son saw this one day while at college after all of the Military services. He shared this with me and told me it was her story and so I watched it - and it is!
