Miranda Lambert Appeals to the Guys, Too

I was at a county fair in Michigan last night watching the Blake Shelton/Miranda Lambert concert, and I figured that the guys were probably there for Blake and the girls were there for Miranda. Well … not quite. The men in Monroe, Mich., really have a thing for Miranda Lambert. I shouldn’t generalize, but as I was taking photos, I was moving all over the audience and kept hearing the same thing from the too-cool-for-school dudes lingering all along the periphery — mainly, “I loooove you, Mirandaaaaaaaaa!!!”
I’ve only seen Miranda Lambert in concert as an opening act or on a festival lineup, so this was a perfect opportunity to catch up on one of country music’s most burgeoning careers. In the past, I always thought she talked too much between songs, but that seems to have cleared up. And I never cared for all those female revenge songs either, like “Kerosene,” “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” and “Gunpowder & Lead.” (Judging from all the screams, I’m in the minority there.) However, I thoroughly enjoyed “Famous in a Small Town,” “Desperation” and “Guilty in Here.” When she’s not trying so hard to be a bad-ass, I think she seems like a pretty cool lady, and I’m curious to find out where she’s gonna go next. In the meantime, here’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

I like her and I reckon boys should love her attitude, but I’ve always just never been able to clear the hurdle and make her any more famouser than a famous in a small town chick singer with a traveling garage band. Go Miranda…make us all believers…that’s yer job baby!
