Jumping on the Kid Rock Bandwagon
I want to join the "I Didn't Know I Loved Kid Rock This Much" club. Because I know I'd be in good company. Let's face it, there are plenty of other country fans who didn't think they would ever turn up a Kid Rock song. (The exception being his duet with Sheryl Crow, "Picture," that I don't think anyone even remotely disliked.) I'll never like fedoras over cowboy hats, or that mess of long hair, but the new single "All Summer Long" is good. Country good. And I just never knew I could like an outsider this much.
Maybe it's because Kid Rock and I aren't so different. He's about my age, we come from the same neck of the woods and we both summered in Northern Michigan. Other than that, though, our similarities pretty much end. But this song takes me back to a time when Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London" and Lynryd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama" were in the virtual playlist (in heavy rotation) in my head.
At first, the way this new song derived its melody from both those tunes made me think of Rock as just some copycat. But I've since learned to respect the way he's paying homage to the music. Sometimes I wonder why it's being played on country radio. But then I think, "Who cares?" It's an infectious song that makes me want to drink whiskey out of the bottle. That's country enough for me.

It is not that I especially like him. I think the song is great and came out at the right time….I love the song and I think he sounded good.

To my suprize I really do love this song. I am really not a Kid Rock fan but maybe he’s got something here…. This is a great song to sing to & boy does it gets stuck in your head! :)

I Love kid rock and have since 1995 he has a great way at expressing himself and i love it.I was raised on country music so that proves anyone can like him.

I can’t say that I like all of Kid Rock’s songs, but there have been a few here and there. That being said, “All Summer Long”, definitely fits into the like category!

“All Summer Long” is such a cool, rocking song, yet it has the country flavor, enough to be played on the radio. I live in Wyoming and they are playing it here. I am originally from Michigan, so I can so much relate to it and it takes me back. Thanks to Kid Rock for many of us around his age to go back down memory lane.

I am so glad people are starting to see the light!! I am a huge music fan in general but his music has sparked my soul in a different way. He is my ultimate favorite artist for many reasons but I like all his varieties of music. Although… Kid Rock’s music is not the kind to push on anyone. Some have to feel it before they love it. Others just never seem to get it. He has some other great songs on his new album Rock N Roll Jesus as well. If you have a chance, check out When You Love Someone. This song keeps me rolling many days as I get my mornings started!

I love Kid Rock he does have a diverse sound. He can do country, rap, & he can rock it. He is good on stage my only complaint is he just has a potty mouth. But hey I do to sometimes. LOL

kid rock is the most versital rock/country/rap star in music bar none!!!!!!! all summer long is the best song i have heard in 10 years!!!!!!! please come to atlanta and i will see you @ the waffle house after the show.that song is so similar me and my girfriends life when we were young its scary!!!! thanks for kick ass music!!!
