Wear Carrie Underwood on Your Wrist
You could spend a fortune on designer bling and never even come close to the cool factor of these bracelets. Because each one is handmade from the used guitar strings off Carrie Underwood's guitar. It's part of the wearyourmusic.org artist program. And besides looking hip, wearers are doing good since a portion of the proceeds go to a charity of the artist's choice.
When you order a Carrie Underwood bracelet, that's when Hannah Garrison, the co-president and designer, gets started. She keeps Underwood's used strings in stock. She has to be creative, though, since she never knows what strings she'll have available when you put in your order. You might get one made of one low E string. Or five of the thinner B strings. And you may get some made of copper, nickel or steel. You just never know. After the bracelet is on its way to you, that's when a donation is made to Underwood's charity, the Humane Society of the United States.
These bracelets aren't cheap, though. They start at $200 and go up from there if you customize with engraving and diamonds. But for Underwood fans, that's a small price to pay to keep her on your arm. And I'm willing to bet that other country stars' old strings would make for good bracelets someday. Keith Urban's. Brad Paisley's. Alan Jackson's. Miranda Lambert's. Dierks Bentley's. Joe Don Rooney's. Whose strings would you want to wear?
