Where's My Invite, Howard?

Natalie MainesI've never been a big fan of Howard Stern's radio show. But now, I'm obsessed with getting an invitation to his wedding. If that's the only way I can hear Natalie Maines sing, then I fully intend on going. I mean, if he'd hired Kenny Chesney, I wouldn't be that determined. Because Chesney is touring. But now that the Dixie Chicks are off the radio and off the road, I'd do anything to hear Maines' distinctive voice. I can't imagine she'll belt her way through the tired old reception set list: "Celebration," "Twist and Shout," and "You Shook Me All Night Long." So maybe she'll do some songs of her own. (Although I hope for Stern's sake that the Chicks "White Trash Wedding" doesn't make the cut.)

You definitely should be a fan of Howard’s… he’s the Natalie Maines of Broadcasting. They even vacationed together (kinda) you’d know that if you were a fan.

There IS something special about hearing a song on radio! But I have had to go to alternate sources to enjoy them. And I am often surprised at what nuggets are out there. For example, I found they had done a fabulous rendition of RAINBOW CONNECTION. There is always a silver lining.

Alison, if you get invited, I’m available to go too!! I saw the Dixie Chicks in concert last October, but that wasn’t nearly enough of a fix. The Chicks are AMAZING live.

Natalie embarrassingly spilled on Storytellers that in addition to “Cowboy Take Me Away”, she also sang “Dreamweaver” at Emily’s wedding. I have a feeling she won’t sing that again… ;) YouTube also has some wedding video of first dances to “Goodbye Earl”. I don’t get it, but you can’t say the bride and groom don’t have a sense of humor! Maybe that’s up Howard’s alley.

Also, Alison, if you have any connections - apparently the Chicks recorded a song for an upcoming movie. Heard anything?
