Alan Jackson Turns 50 Million
Alan Jackson this week passed the mark of 50 million albums sold. That's a huge number right? I mean, that puts him 1 million short of Kenny Rogers, about 17 million shy of George Strait and closing in on halfway to Garth Brooks' high water mark for the country format (128 million sold, second only to the Beatles overall) according to the RIAA. Not a bad group to be listed with, and even though he's shy and downplays his success, I'll bet he's proud of this one. After almost 20 years of hard work and great songs, he deserves it. Here's his latest video "Good Time."

He must be so proud to be in the same category of artists like Garth Brooks and the Beatles. That’s some good company. Your right–he deserves it!

I love the idea he turns 50 this year and sales 50 million the same year ….couldn’t happen to a nicer artist..

I like it he is turning 50 this year and sells 50 million albums what a good way to turn 50…This could not happen to a nicer artist.
Brian Quinn says:
Elvis Presley has sold more records - albums and singles -than anyone including The Beatles and Garth Brooks. Unfortunately, his original record company RCA lost or destroyed many of his sales records, including those in the aftermath of his death thought to be over 80 million.
I doubt if Elvis will ever get due credit for his achievements.
The RIAA way of accounting record sales does not show the true picture. Garth Brooks has taken advantage of this accounting. Anyone who knows anything about musical history will know that Elvis has had about 300 albums released in the U.S.A. and Garth Brooks about twelve or so. Who do you think has sold the most records?
CJ says:
Congrad’s Alan wow! that is a lot of music. I think I have them all in my collection. Keep them coming. You are far from done…..
Rufus says:
I think Elvis and Garth should both be on toilet paper…
gabriele fusi says:
alan you are the best in country music

Are those sales numbers worldwide sales? They cannot be. Kenny Rogers has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide,Dolly Parton also. I like Alan Jackson very much and think he deserves high sales, but I believe he hasn’t enjoyed the same worldwide and crossover success as Kenny in his peak years.
