Around the Web: Carrie Underwood's Beach Photos

Posted: July 11th, 2008 at 5:14 pm  |  By: Link Ray

Her great figure isn't news to anyone. But after all her hard work making hit after hit, it's nice to see Carrie Underwood getting a little R&R.

Before there were flat irons and highlights, there was Billy Idol. And he must've been the inspiration for Keith Urban's hairstyle.

It's a match made in dreamy teen heaven. Taylor Swift was spotted at a Jonas Brothers concert in Dallas, and now some folks have her linked with Joe Jonas.

He's walking the line, alright. And with Snoop Dogg's cover of a Johnny Cash classic, he may have actually crossed it.

Sugarland talks openly about making Love on the Inside and their hopes that fans will be inspired after their show.

Want Miley Cyrus to have more dimension? A how-to guide will walk you through making 3-D glasses for the Hannah Montana movie.

Poor Carrie, she finally gets a break from touring since January (and she’ll start again on Wednesday through December), and the paps won’t leave her and her family alone. She is so down to earth and quiet that I could see her spending most of the time on a beach in Florida and no one would notice. But then the paps are like cockroaches, they never go away.

Why does CMT have to turn into TMZ? Country Music as an Industry should rise above this and stick to the music.

Who cares about Carrie Underwood and her beach votos, boring, boring and more boring.

Carrie is the true “All American Girl” in every sense of the words thats why we love her and everything she stands for. A beautiful person inside and out. I’m sorry that her family vacation was invaded but Carrie is very classy and didn’t make a scene about the photographers. She doesn’t seek attention. Its just that everyone seeks her out and wants a piece of her. She is the hottest thing out there right now. She’s everywhere but she remains true to her values and small town upbringing.

Carrie rocks! She looks amazing and I am glad she had some fun!

Yeah it does suck that paparazzi has to follow, but now we all got to see how good she looks in a bikini. Although she always has been, her gym body is smoking hot.

  • Enough of Taylor says:

    Posted: July 11th, 2008 at 11:10 pm

I think Taylor is more fit for the pop genre than country.. I’m so sick of hearing about this girl.. There is a headline about her every day. It’s getting ridiculous.

Carrie on the other hand looks beautiful! I feel bad she can’t even go on vacation without people snapping pics of her though. I hope she enjoyed her much needed time off.

  • Jennifer says:

    Posted: July 11th, 2008 at 11:20 pm

Carrie Underwood is only popular because of her American Idol win. Send us a new artist that had to work for where she is at and not handed to her! I know a lot of people who are sick of hearing about her. In other words NEXT!!!

  • Greg says:

    Posted: July 11th, 2008 at 11:37 pm

I agree with a couple of comments posted before. Carrie Underwood will never be for example a Reba or Dolly because she did not have to work for her fame and in a few more years that will be her downfall. I just don’t see her being remembered as a true Queen of Country Music, maybe a sweetheart but not a Queen. Very few women fit in that realm- Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire. Carrie just does not make the grade and never will! Whether certain people agree with me or not, I do not care but the truth hurts some times.

    Posted: July 12th, 2008 at 4:46 am

To the other Michael: You think that the photos are “boring”. This is not the question, it’s not the topic. The topic ist that she does not have a private life. Which is sad!

I love her for singing and her personality, not fro photos at the beach. She decided to sing, not to act for everyone as a beach model. We should respect this, and the paparazzi as well.

oh don’t take it so seriously guys…its great publicity for carrie (she looks amazing), and whether she wants it or not…its the price of fame…lets just say she got some r&r…some free publicity…and we all got great beach pics of carrie

    lets call it even…lol

  • Tom says:

    Posted: July 12th, 2008 at 8:08 am

I understand why people feel Carrie Underwood did not work for her fame. Because she did not, it was handed to her. End of story. Marcus you are an extremely nasty person, anyway I have a life so I gotta go.

  • Michelle says:

    Posted: July 12th, 2008 at 8:50 am

I am so tired of hearing about Carrie Underwood! First let’s just say that I agree that she is not a Contry Queen like Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton. Carrie also is not a new fresh face like Taylor Swift or Kellie Pickler. So where does Carrie Underwood fit in, let’s just put her in the category of 15 minute reality star fame. So over her! I am sure that upset some of you but that is what she is, a reality star not a true Country SuperStar!

  • Michelle says:

    Posted: July 12th, 2008 at 9:03 am

Before you Carrie fans write back, I know Kellie Pickler was on American Idol as well. But Kellie has not had it handed to her like Carrie Underwood. Most of the female country singers do not even like Carrie Underwood. It is not jealousy, the real female country stars are just sick to death of this girl walking in from reality TV fame and not working her way to the top. But as mentioned before, this will also be her downfall. Never make the female singers before you angry or it will come back to bite you eventually.

  • Connie says:

I’m a Carrie fan writing back. But I’m ok with you opinion, it is just totally different than mine. No one can predict what will happen to the career of someone in the entertainment world. But I will be a Carrie Underwood fan, the music and the person, for a very long time.

  • Vicki says:

    Posted: July 12th, 2008 at 11:08 am

I read your comments and opinions and now my time. Carrie didn’t have her fame handed to her. AI is a pressure cooker. She had a choice (and if Reba, Dolly etc had AI back then, I’m sure they would have taken that choice). Carrie just took a chance without any expectations. She did not think she would go far but knew this was her last chance at trying to be a professional singer (she sang at local festivals, talent shows etc but went to college to get a “real job” for who in their right mind would think one day they would be a superstar?). She tried and she worked hard under AI. It was stressful! She gained 20lbs on that show for it was so stressful! She worked day and night hard for the 6 months or so they put her through. Luckily, through sheer God given talent, she won and won the respect of fans everwhere for her extremely talented voice and the nice, shy young lady she was/is. It was NOT given to her, she earned it and worked extemely hard to get it. Sure, she didn’t go through working in bars, knocking on doors like others did, but she took a chance and by gum, it worked. So please, whether she worked the old way, or new way, she is still a gracious country music star with the gifted voice to prove it. Carrie, btw, loves and respects Reba, Dolly, Miranda, Taylor, Kellie, Faith, Martina, Allyson, etc..

  • Chazz says:

    Posted: July 12th, 2008 at 12:02 pm

Connie and Vicki you are very gracious ladies. I respect your opinions and do realize there are different views on all aritsts. We all love country music and the joy it brings to our lives. Marcus on the other hand, you really should not write such nasty comments about people you know nothing about. Hate for someone is never a good thing, afterall everyone has the right to voice there own thoughts. So what if someone is gay, Jesus loves everyone and gay has nothing to do with someone making a comment about Carrie Underwoods beach pictures being boring. I think he was just meaning that gives us country news, not someone playing on the beach.

I think JESSICA SIMPSON is gonna BLOW Carrie OUT OF THE WAY!!CARRIE SUCKS!!JESSICA IS GONNA TAKE OVER!!WATCH AND SEE!!

  • Vicki says:

    Posted: July 12th, 2008 at 1:16 pm

Dear Carrie Sucks: Jessica yes has lots of pop fans but not as many country fans. I also notice you don’t use your real first name so that is why you write what you think is right. I could have called this “jessica sucks” but I didn’t out of respect for another artist. Give it time, Jessica may but she will be going against tons of Carrie supporters.

  • Stacey says:

    Posted: July 12th, 2008 at 1:17 pm

You know… I actually think that it would be extremely harder for Carrie to make it this day and age like Reba and Dolly did. Back then it was extremely hard for a female singer to become known, and they set the path of artists like Carrie and Taylor. But now… it’s become nothing BUT women singers!! So it’s harder to stand out when everyone in the industry right now is a woman. For example; Carrie, Taylor, Jewel, Jessica, Julianne Hough, Sugarland, Miranda Lambert. I mean, that’s just to name a few! I think it’s just going to become more commercialized now rather than focusing on whether they are a good artist. And I’m sorry if I offend anyone, I like Carrie but Carrie is definitely commercial, and so is Taylor. There will NEVER be another Reba or Dolly.

  • Michael says:

    Posted: July 12th, 2008 at 1:51 pm

Marcus you suck, get over it Carrie Underwood is and always will be a fifteen minute star. When she can stay around for thirty years and be popular like the one and only REBA, then come and talk to me.

There are a lot of singers and stars that were found in different ways but what does that have to do with how they sing and how successful they are?? Leann Rimes was discovered on Star Search along with many others!! The reason Carrie was inducted into the Grand Ol’ Opry was because they saw the longevity of her in country music!!
But back to the topic: Carrie looks beautiful and it is a shame she cant have some down time without cameras but at least the people on the beach are leaving her alone!!

    Posted: July 12th, 2008 at 5:47 pm

Okay, i’m first going to say I respect everyone’s opinion on if you like carrie underwood or not, because everyone has their own opinion and everyone is not going to like the same person or thing. But i don’t think her success was just handed to her. On american idol if you win then you are given a recording contract, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t be dropped from it. There have been American Idol winners who were dropped from their label. Carrie worked hard for where she’s at, believe it or not. Okay, she may not have went door to door like taylor swift or played in bars to get discovered, but she decided to try something just to see what could happen. American idol is tough, it’s not just a free ride. what do you have to say about miranda lambert she was on nashville star. all i’m saying is why does it matter if you were on a show, she’s still successful and has a great voice. Anyways, she’s beautiful in these pics, it’s sad she can’t just enjoy her vacation.

  • David Nisbet, Scotland says:

As Carrie herself says; “I’ve learned this, that haters wanna hate. You could sing a song perfectly, you could write the songs perfectly, and some people are absolutely going to hate you.”

People hate on her for no reason other than they are jealous of her fame and have nothing better to do with their time. All of this “she isn’t Country” or “she was handed everything” crap got old YEARS ago.

  • Cynthia says:

    Posted: July 12th, 2008 at 7:21 pm

Gosh, Jennifer, How can you say Carrie didn’t work for Where she is at. It isn’t like she fell asleep and woke up one day and, Bam!!! she was a star. I just think you are jealous. Jessica may do alright in country, but Lord knows no one can understand her.

  • Kae says:

    Posted: July 12th, 2008 at 10:04 pm

If any of you guys have complaints about how Carrie became famous, please take it up with GOD! God blessed this child’s life and instead of trying to pull her down with words, we should be happy about her obvious favor. Carrie is a GREAT singer. I never really listened to country until I heard her songs. I was never interested. As for Jessica, let’s quit comparing the two. Both have different paths. At this point, Carrie knows who she is, but Jessica is still trying to find herself. I pray that God continues to elevate Carrie above all her haters. Peace.

  • Vicki says:

    Posted: July 12th, 2008 at 10:34 pm

Did you notice that Carrie looked oblivious that anyone was snapping pictures, but there is one shot where she is looking deeply over to where she thinks she sees a camera and frowns. Carrie was a star lately who just concentrated on work and giving her all every night for the fans. She has avoided the hollywood scene and even when she did Idols finale she was right back on the plane out of there early the next day. So she probably thought she could finally live a normal life. Although the place she reserved just for her family was a private area but you know the paps. Sighhhhhhhh….

wow, some people on here with their ignorant comments are nothing more than trailor trash. go back to your 300 sq. foot trailors and keep your opinions to yourselves - you shouldn’t be granted internet access. and if you take offense to this, than obviously you shouldn’t reply, because you make it clear that you’re nothing more than a close-minded individual that makes country music suck. get over yourselves and let country music have some fun. carrie underwood is the most spectacular thing that has happened to country music in a long time. opinions are opinions, but to say she hasn’t deserved her fame is ludacris. fame isn’t handed to anyone - it is earned. america fell in love with her, get over it. and to say other female artists don’t like her, are you serious? ignorance is bliss.

I can write anything I want to about Carrie (fifteen minute star) Underwood. I have the right to my opinion like everyone else on this board. No one is jealous we just simply do not like her music or how she got started in the business. Furthermore country female artists have made comments about her easy handed fame, that is there right also. Like someone stated before, when she has been around for thirty years like our Queen REBA, then come back and talk to us.

  • hotelmotel says:

    Posted: July 13th, 2008 at 12:15 pm

I’m not a carrie fan, but she is going strong after about three years, so she clearly isnt a “fifteen minutes of fame” type of person.

I don’t see any problem with the way Carrie rose to stardom.

  • Denny says:

    Posted: July 13th, 2008 at 1:51 pm

Carrie Underwood won AI (not a fan of the show) but wasn’t ready to be a professional singer at that point…

She spent a couple years working on BECOMING professional… took voice lessons from a pro, and made herself a better singer…

Then she found some good songs, and they were hits.

Not exactly INSTANT success without any sweat involved…

  • David Nisbet, Scotland says:

    Posted: July 13th, 2008 at 5:01 pm

Fifteen minutes you say. If you go from her first album in 1996, she’s been working on her career for 12 years now. But then I see you’re a tad obsessed with Reba, and from what I gather you are just another basher who isn’t interested in facts, just worshipping one artist and hating on anyone that could topple said artist from the top spot (which Carrie has already done).

  • Michael says:

    Posted: July 13th, 2008 at 5:49 pm

David, the day that Carrie is better than Reba is the day the sky will turn red. How can Carrie topple Reba. Let’s see has Carrie won Entertainer of the Year from both the ACM and CMA’s or is it that she has sold over 50 million albums worldwide. Oh, could it be that she has excelled on Broadway, TV and Film. Has Carrie won the female vocalist award record times on the ACM, CMA, AMERICAN MUSICE AWARDS, PEOPLES CHOICE, CMT/TNN Fan voted awards and etc, Everyone in the music industry looks up to and admires Reba for opening the doors for so many female artists. Reba is a CMT Giant and author Reba also has her own StarStruck Enterprise in Nashville, the most nominated woman is country music awards history the best selling female country artist of the 20th century. Been on the cover of every magazine knows to man and also the first woman that BillBoard magazine named Woman of the Year! Reba also has the biggest heart in the business, she has done more charity work than most people. I could go on for hours but why should I waste my time trying to convince you that Reba and Carrie are not even in the same realm. Topple that Mr. Scotland, she will never ever compare to the Queen, and you know it!! JUST EATS YOU UP I KNOW. HAIL TO THE QUEEN! NEVER COMPARE A ROOKIE TO AN ICON! Millions of people agree, sorry for your loss! Trying to compare Carrie to Reba is like trying to compare hamburger meat to Filet Mignon. Don’t mess with the best FREAK!

  • Michael is a genius says:

    Posted: July 13th, 2008 at 8:35 pm

Michael, calm down! The only reason you’re hear talking junk is because Carrie has been so successful… just because she is in the spotlight more than other artists and people are fans are her doesn’t mean the success of Reba has been dismissed. You act like Reba wouldn’t approve of Carrie’s success, but stop and think about it… Reba has been touring with Kelly Clarkson - who gained her fame in similar fashion. Reba is a class act, and by the things you are saying you make it out to be like she despises Carrie. Think about what Reba would think of your harsh words, would she really want you to bash other artists?

  • Vicki says:

    Posted: July 13th, 2008 at 10:47 pm

Michael, yes calm down. We know all of that about Reba and yes there is no comparison. But Carrie is a true God given talented singer and a very humble, shy, nice sweetie as well. Also, did you watch the Oklahoma celebration last year? Both Reba and Carrie are from Oklahoma and both were so proud to represent their state. In fact, Reba boosts about Carrie as a proud Moma would do. So please, calm down. Queen Reba and Princess Carrie are friends.

  • Steve says:

    Posted: July 13th, 2008 at 11:03 pm

How does that Michael guy take pictures of Carrie on a beach and turn it into everyone saying Carrie is better than Reba? No one even came close to saying anything like that. Besides, it’s not like Reba is being pushed aside. Some fans of country music should lighten up and be more open, because there’s room for everyone. No need to be a stubborn fan and limit what country music has to offer. Geez… Amen and Goodnight.

  • Connie says:

    Posted: July 14th, 2008 at 8:25 am

Michael, no new artist is trying to replace anyone. They are just trying to have the best career they can have. All of Reba’s wonderful accomplishments didn’t take away from the women before her. All of Carrie Underwood’s honors and awards takes nothing away from Reba. Whoever is coming next won’t take away from Carrie. Will Carrie Underwood have a long career, only time will tell. But she will forever be a Grammy winner, CMA winner, ACMA winner, AMA winner, Grand Ole Opry member………And as for the actual article, Carrie looks gorgeous in designer gowns, beautiful in jeans and amazing in a bikini.

  • Michael says:

    Posted: July 14th, 2008 at 12:02 pm

I am not the one who started comparing the two. If you look before my blog, you will see that David Scotland was the one who stated that Carrie Underwood has toppled Reba. All I did was state the facts about the difference between the two artists. You are right REBA is Queen and Carrie is a princess. There is still a big difference between the two. Millions of people admire and love both artists. Have a great day!

  • Wow says:

    Posted: July 14th, 2008 at 12:26 pm

Michael, actually, all he said is that you are afraid of Carrie toppling your favorite artist from the top stop, which she already has (it’s obvious that he meant currently, not all time). Besides, he said this after you flamingly said, “Like someone stated before, when she has been around for thirty years like our Queen REBA, then come back and talk to us”.

  • Wow says:

    Posted: July 14th, 2008 at 12:33 pm

I’m sorry, but to anyone that comes to something like this and talks crap about someone, all I can say is that the only thing that would spawn such behavior is jealousy. If it bothers you so much to see someone’s success, then don’t even click on the storyline. Your actions speak louder than your denial. Sure you can say, “I’m not jealous, I just don’t like her.” Surrre… I don’t like a lot of artists, but I don’t go around saying negative things about them. There’s a line between not caring for someone and envying their success. That line is often crossed by ignorant comments such as the ones above.

  • Question??? says:

    Posted: July 14th, 2008 at 1:13 pm

I don’t have a dog in this fight, however i do have a couple of questions i hope someone can answer. Often on this board i see people say that success was HANDED to Carrie. I wonder why Carrie is the only artist that has ever had success HANDED to her? One would think if this were possible that the labels would be handing out success on a weekly basis. So why Carrie, why is she the only one? The other thing i see often is, she didn’t work for it because she didn’t play in bars a few years. Does that mean you can’t sing Country Music until you’ve been around a certain number of drunks and whores? Although Carrie is not my favorite i do enjoy her singing. These statements have never made any sense to me, hopefully someone can explain it.
