He’s Grateful to Be “Waitin’ on a Woman”
My hair’s never quite dry, my shirt still needs to be ironed, I can’t find the right shoes, I’m missing my lipstick and I can’t find my purse. Sound familiar? Luckily, I have an understanding fiancé. He’s never in too big of a hurry and doesn’t usually try to rush me. (Good thing. This only makes me move slower.) But he told me a long time ago that Brad Paisley’s “Waitin’ on a Woman” reminded him of me. I’ll admit, I never really bothered to listen to the song and more than likely rolled my eyes when he told me. After all, I figured it was his way of telling me I frustrated him with my constant lateness.
What made me take notice of the song is when I heard Andy Griffith was going to be in the video. You can’t go wrong with Andy Griffith. And really, who can resist whistling along to his beloved theme song? So, I sat at my cubicle and I watched. It was not what I had expected at all. The video was not a silly song about a man being frustrated by his tardy wife. Instead, it was a song much deeper and more serious, a beautiful ballad of love and understanding and everlasting devotion.
As I watched, Griffith told Paisley to get used to waiting for his wife and rather than be aggravated, enjoy the fact that he had her in his life — for life’s a short and sweet journey in time. He explains that he’ll wait for his own wife even after he’s left this world. He’ll find a nice bench in heaven where he’ll patiently wait. What a delightful story and breathtaking message. I suppose I owe my fiancé a much-needed apology.

This song is so true with a wonderful written blog to go along with it. I think every married couple or even engaged needs to have a good listen to this song. It talks about how even though his wife is late he needs to have patince and understanding. Although, the wife might need to take a look at the clock to try and be on time. But I know how that is and its very difficult to be there on time and look both.
Whitney, I’m just very glad that Chris is understanding and patient with you and I know he will make a great husband for you. The best of luck! :)

Awe, what a wonderful video and song. I agree with Whitney that anything with Andy and Brad is….well a perfect set-up. I too have been married for many years and one just learns to wait. Oh, now Whitney your boyfriend will learn all the ends and outs too. He will find out that it is easier to sit on a park bench and wait instead of following you around. There seems to be an unwritten rule about walking around in the store with them…Yep, he too shall learn. I look so forward to your videos and comments each week. You fill up my tank each and week with you writing. Keep up the great work.

This is a great song and one I had never taken the time to watch the video for. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, Whitney! I think it’s definitely a song every man should hear and it sounds like since your fiance thought of you when he heard this he must really care about you : )

What a wonderful video. It takes you through the wonderful voyage of the love of a man for a woman. You can’t help but feel the love that is there and it sure does make you smile at the end knowing that Andy is there waiting. There is no better person to play these characters and Andy Griffith to be in this video just adds to the telling of this story. Thank you Brad and Andy. You have certainly touched this ole southern heart.

I just want to say that I went to my first Brad Paisley concert last night in Charlotte N.C and it was great. If any one is thinking about going to his show do it.
