Real Girls Don't Get Sassy on T-Shirts
Dear Jessica Simpson,
Welcome to Nashville. And now that you're here, let me share some advice that I once received as a young reporter -- everybody that you pass on the way up will be there to greet you on the way down. In other words, be nice to every person you meet in the country music business. And that includes Carrie Underwood. Why would you wear that "Real Girls Eat Meat" t-shirt when you know full-well that your boyfriend Tony Romo used to date the famous vegetarian?
I remember the last time a country star made such a bad fashion decision, when Natalie Maines emblazoned F.U.T.K. on her T-shirt, right around the time she had a few choice words to say about Toby Keith. I felt like the tide was about to turn back toward the Dixie Chicks, but poor Natalie just couldn't turn it around at that point. Hey, I just thought of something! She's from Texas, too, so naturally, her heart's always been in country music, just like yours.
Also, now that you're starting to show up at country music events -- even if you didn't actually sing at CMA Music Festival -- please realize that Carrie Underwood will be hanging around too. She never has a bad word to say about anybody. True, she's not exactly a chatty girl, but at least she's polite. Also, she's got the corner on "America's Sweetheart" territory these days, so think twice before you get up in her grill.
Speaking of grill, I know a delicious barbecue place in Nashville. It's called B&C in the Farmer's Market. I eat there about twice a week. I'd sure love to have lunch with a Real Girl sometime, and I'll introduce you to my friends in the music business. Come on over.

Well IF it was a shot at Carrie Underwood, then I agree with you. But Jessica Simpson’s not exactly known for her smarts, so I’m not sure whether it’s that she didn’t know any better or that she wasn’t raised any better. On the other hand I don’t like using ignorance as an excuse.
Even if it wasn’t a shot at anyone in particular, it’s rude. Real women don’t make jokes at the expense of people who’ve made a lifestyle choice when they know they’re going to be photographed at the airport. Which she definitely knew because her family’s notorious for tipping off the paparazzi.
The Simpson clan probably loves the extra publicity they get out of a so called “feud” with the 2 time reigning CMA and ACM Female Vocalist Of The Year. Carrie Underwood would be smart to keep ignoring this. If this was a passive aggressive shot hopefully there won’t be any others from the Simpson clan.

Every country star out there has had to work hard to get where they are now. Whether they played every night in a club, busted their butts on a tv show or won a contest that got some attention! Please. You think Carrie being on American Idol means she got in the easy way? That she didn’t work hard for it? They have to learn their songs in a week, in the time between their photoshoots and video shootings. Then they have to go and perform in front of the 20-30 million people that are watching. And for those in doubt to whether she said this - I heard her say it. They played the video on E! She was trying to get out of offending PETA with her shirt and admitted it had to do with Carrie. So there is no denying it out of ms peabrain.

Who cares about the freakin’ t-shirt? It all comes down to talent! Carrie has it, Jessica doesn’t! Country music is about expressing emotion…its about real people… Its about work ethic. Every country star out there has had to work hard to get where they are now. Whether they played every night in a club, busted their butts on a tv show or won a contest that got some attention! Its not about drama, who can beat who, who has the smartest mouth and the best PR group. Country music and its fans are a very forgiving group, but they are also protective of their own. I travel around the country and the only place I have even heard Jessica Simpson’s song being played is in one club. No radio play that I have heard yet. She has very limited talent and since she can’t make it successfully in pop music or acting in quality projects, she is trying country. From what I saw of her at the CMAfest I don’t think much of her and won’t consider buying her album. After she was interviewed at the block party, people were trying to get her to turn and smile so they could take a picture. She wouldn’t even turn to fans that she had her back to before she left. The whole point of the CMA fest is that the stars appreciate their fans and want to give back to them. She obviously doesn’t belong in country music. It really burned me, as well as others, to hear them talk about the possiblity of her singing on the big stage next year. Their are plenty of great country singers who should be on that stage.
It really bugs me to see pop music singers whose careers are taking a dive switch to country. I especially hate when they get the red carpet rolled out for them and they trample on all those hard working country artists looking for a break. The industry is really sinking pretty low to make a buck!

The article was basically stating that someone trying to make it in country SHOULDN’T alienate ANYONE - especially the reigning country sweetheart. Also, the shirt makes Jessica look immature and insecure. If her relationship with Romo makes her feel like that then maybe she should be moving on.
Second - Carrie is very nice & accomodating to her fans. She is a very shy person though. Also, for all you idiots saying Carrie was handed her career - WAKE UP!!! American Idol is not a cake walk. How would you like to be judged every week by 20-30 million people? Would you do as well at your jobs? Since Idol Carrie has worked even harder to show just how much she loves country music.
Third - the Dixie Chicks won their grammys based on politics not music. Even they acknowledged that.
Forth - In the long run it won’t matter. Talent will always win out. Carrie definately has it. Time will tell in Jessica does.

I really wanted to give Jessica a chance but what she lacks in vocals - she misses even moreso in country charm-sincerity and respect for the others. I’ve seen pictures of Jessica and Carrie togeher they don’t seem to have a problem with each other so why should anyone else. Especially the rags that are trying to start something. US Weekly rag was just called out by someone from Fox for their spreading of lies last month about Jessica and Tony that started the frenzy. Now is Jessica and Carrie. I see now Pam Anderson is trying to catch a ride from this too. I guess she has a show coming up soon, but Jessicas fans will also stand with her. Many of us will be following her into country too. We don’t have a beef with anyone, but are here to support Jessica and Tony.
