Our Paid Vacation with Pauly Shore
The Deas family was featured in an episode of CMT Paid Vacation with Pauly Shore.
Words can not describe the experience we had on our Paid Vacation from CMT! We had the time of our lives. We had no idea what to expect, there were surprises the whole trip. The first day our emotions were very high from the unexpected win to packing and traveling with four children on a private jet. If someone told us we would have to pack for the entire family in an hour we would have said “yeah right.” Thank goodness most of our laundry was cleaned and put up. That made packing a little easier. Traveling with Pauly gave us the time to get to know him and we soon realized that he would fit in just fine with our family for a week.
When we finally arrived to our wonderful vacation home it took a little while to get settled in, but by the next morning we were ready to go. We had no idea what to expect because we were not told what was going to happen, the surprises kept coming one after another. The food the chefs cooked was wonderful, except the lox and cream cheese! When Pauly busted Jackson’s lip everyone was shocked, but hey it was reality TV. Pauly truly felt horrible about it, we had to keep reassuring him that it was OK, accidents happen. After a quick trip to the ER we were ready to continue our vacation.
The massages were wonderful except for the fact that Brad kept talking instead of trying to relax. It was still nice being that it is something that we do not get very often. Going to the Alan Jackson concert in the tour bus was amazing; we had to keep reminding the kids that is was not a normal bus ride. It was like traveling in a home. We are very grateful to Alan Jackson for allowing us to go back stage and meet him and then attend his concert. It was the first concert for the kids so it is an experience they will never forget. The next day was one of the biggest highlight of our trip, getting to swim with dolphins is a once in a life time opportunity. The big kids had a blast and little Cambell and Cooper enjoyed watching. Dinner with Pauly was very wonderful and a lot of fun. The looks we got from people dinning around us were priceless. Pauly is Pauly no matter where we were. Going on a family vacation with Pauly Shore will definitely be a highlight of our family memories. Thank you CMT for the time of our life!

Hey, did you really have to pay the bill at dinner? Your husband looked more upset than you did about the busted lip. We absolutely LOVED watching this episode. I also grew up watching Pauly so this was hilarious to see!

What a dream trip! Your family is adorable! Pauly seems harmless and fun. I’m sure he was very upset with the busted lip incident.

It would be nice to know how to sign up for these things, including Mobile Home Disaster because there are several people I would like to nominate for these. If you know how to do it please let us know. Thank you. Also it was a cool episode with your family, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks again, Kim
Brad Deas says:
First off, Thank you to you all for the nice comments. It was truly a blessing.
As far as sign ups go, I have no idea how.
They told us that we were the pilot for this show and that in the future that it would be posted on the website.
I will find out more and post it on here when I do.
The Alan Jackson concert that we went to was at “The Wharf” in Orange Beach.
No, we did not have to pay the bill! Fortunately because it was $3,200, they didnt show that!!!!
and yes, my boy would even tell you that the busted lip was well worth it!
I will check this periodically and answer any more questions that anyone has.
Thank you again for all of the nice comments.
I hope that you all enjoyed my family and the show.

I wanted to watch CMT’s Paid Vaca with Pauly Shore because I’m a fan of any show that I can watch with my kids. And Pauly has always made me laugh with his stony sweet sense of humor. So my 4 kids and I watched the show together and we were all entertained — what I enjoyed the most, though, was the personal connection made between Pauly and the Deas family. Pauly is a great host for this show!
–How do you pick your families to be on the show? Because I would love to surprise my kids and husband with a paid vaca — we have never been anywhere longer than a weekend vaca to Chicago, which is 3 hours away from where we live–
Thanks for making a great show that makes us smile!
Take care.

Our entire family cracked up at Pauly and the Deas families’ antics during their vacation. I would love to take my family on a week long vacation. My wife really deserves it. She works 2 part-time jobs and goes to school full time working on her masters degree. Oh yeah, did I mention we have 3 beautiful daughters? She is the best mom and the best wife. I work hard, but I know sometimes I come up short. I’d love to treat her and my wonderful daughters to such an opportunity. Keep creating great shows like this that the whole family can enjoy!

Pauly Shore, Alan Jackson in the same weekend, WOW!!! (Brandi’s favorite word is WOW). Hey Brad did you ever find out the weight limit on the plane?
All kidding aside, I am glad to see CMT can make a realty show like this instead of ones that hook people up to a lie detector machine and try to break up a family. CMT thank you for giving a well deserved vacation to a great family.
Happy 4th of July.

Brad, it was so cool to see you and your family on CMT and on Vacation. We just got back from a short Vacation oursleves and happened to see you on TV. You havent changed a bit. I told my mom to check out your show next time it airs. She always refers to you as that Big Boy who loved her Thanksgiving cooking. Take care and hope to see you at some MT football.
Kim says:
Hey guys, I was just checking back to see who “made it” on the show. My family also submitted an application for “the free vacation” show, but sadly did not get chosen. You were given very little information on what the show was actually going to be on the application. The process involved submitting an application to a casting director in Nashville (she was so nice) back in January, then was followed by taped interviews and call backs in early February. After the tornado hit my little town and family so hard in February, I lost track of what was going on with the show. While there is still a little part of me that wishes it could have been my little “crew”, CONGRATS to the Deas family. There is nothing like getting to spend time with your family-no matter where it is at. Have a blessed day!
Jenny says:
The boy ran at Pauly which in turn caused his own busted lip, I thought Pauly was treated pretty crappy for someone who paid for such a nice trip, it’s a “Paid Vacation with Pauly Shore” get real you want to spend time alone pay for your own trip, that was rude. Bet you got a lawyer lined up for the lip maybe not you just seemed like that kind of a person. Hopefully the next family will be more grateful.
Looks like other viewers liked the show so maybe I preceaved it wrong hmmm…

Shows like this are great and I’m so happy when people get chosen for them. I’m happy that the Deas family got the lucky vacation of a lifetime! Since I couldn’t expect to be chosen (I’d stand a better chance hitting a mega lottery! lol) I just went ahead and signed up for a vacation membership so that I could take such trips ReferralVacationing (dot com) anytime I wanted. I’m glad the Deas kids really enjoyed and appreciated their stay! I know most of those here who watched and are posting, would have! Ah well…better luck next time, I guess! :-)

i wathced the episode with you and i couldnt believe it. i felt bad for your son with the busted lip but in the end, he made it through. i have always wanted to give my parents the dream vacation they have always wanted but i could never seem to get the whole family together. i am 16 and have 3 brothers. for 10 years i was living with my aunt and i never got to go anwahere but my aunt’s house or few friends here and there i was not given the chance to make my own decisions on where i wwnted to be. my mom lives in texas and works around the clock to try and keep food on the table for her and my step dad. you guys are one amazing family and i would love to stay in contact about your progress. i am sure glad you guys got a chance of a lifetime vacation with alan jackson, pauly shore and the amazing beach side view!
