Around the Web: Willie, Farm Aid Deliver Check to Iowa
Willie Nelson’s paying up. He and his Farm Aid buddies brought money to Iowa for immediate relief to the flood-damaged farms along the Mississippi River.
Darryl Worley’s annual fundraiser, Tennessee River Run, is set to start on Sept. 6 with catfishing, boat poker and some gospel music in Savannah, Tenn.
Looks like country fans will have to take Julianne Hough out to the ballgame, since Sugarland cancelled their performances at Tuesday night’s Chicago Cubs game.
David Andersen’s guitar playing has been praised by legends such as Chet Atkins, Les Paul and Earl Scruggs. You can hear him play for free most days in the lobby of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville.

Good Morning Link Ray:
Re: Nashville Star USA Today write up……it was more than a fair/truthful opinion to ‘Pop Goes The Country’ Monday, June 23 episode.
In fact, it was ‘restrained’ and ‘complimentary’ regarding all the contestants/songs/events of the night, along with the judges’ mentoring and judging. Plenty of ‘rant’ material was generously provided.
Like the guest artists for the night, well ’sex’ sells.
John Rich, unknowingly having some hypocricy going on with……Alison’s song choice (I didn’t care for her rendition either) but what was so funny to me……..
is he downs Alison for trying to sing the Bubble Gum pop song of all time while in previous episodes uplifting the current ‘Bubble Gum Queen of Country Music - Taylor Swift’. Come on John -Bubble gum is bubble gum is bubble gum. It’s popular and money making right now, pushed forward to the front as THE trendy top choice… what do they call that ‘relevant’?
Has anyone else noticed the nice female announcer who intros Billy Ray and interviews the contestant post performance…..great voice, great personality, her face is a “Jewel” look-a-like. She should be doing Billy Ray’s job on the show.
It is fun to watch, that I have to admit. After the show I could have gone on for days with my opinions, but it is Wednesday already and most of said opinions have gone pooooffff.
WILL LAMBERT says:
This show is horrible! It’s better days were on TNT. None of these people would make it on American Idol or Can you duet. The days of when I first saw Miranda Lambert and Buddy Jewel were the best days. It’s sad to see this show suffer like this. Better country singers are out there and NBC has failed in finding them.

Oh Link, I did think of one more item…..
What might have been……
Re: The guest artists on this past Nashville Star Monday’s show, John Anderson sitting in the audience getting on stage totally unrehearsed would have been OUTSTANDING, totally the BEST. His voice would have knocked those chickies off their heels and boots and on their badonkadonks.
