Trick My Truck: Code Red
Code Red!!!!! We had a great challenge roll into the shop when we got Rick Julian's Freightliner FL60. A guy that devotes his life to helping people out when they are in trouble is a hero in our book. We knew that we had to integrate Rick's rescue background into the build of his truck and that's exactly what we did.
The old Freightliner had seen a rough life so first thing we scrapped nearly everything on the truck. For starters we wanted to turn the truck into a rescue helicopter and that's what we did. The lights on the roof were set up to look like the blades of a helicopter and strobed like they were actually moving. The doors were removed and put on Lambo style to open out and up. It was interesting to see Steve and Matt do that, but they turned out awesome. The bed on the truck was completely junk, so we got him a new one and Rhino lined to look like a landing pad, and Ryno took the paint on the cab and just made it awesome, along with new tool boxes. The outside was flawless. So for the inside we went just as wild. The one-inch-thick Plexiglas box housing two of Kicker's wildest subs being powered by over 6,000 watts blew us away. So then we moved to the front put two TVs in the floor of the truck cameras everywhere for Rick's safety to make sure that he could see every angle of the outside from the safety of his cab. We also put gauges out of an actual helicopter in the dash just to make it more realistic. The whole build was a great adventure for us just like Rick's job is for him. The whole truck looks killer inside and out, and we accomplished our goal to make it look like a helicopter. Seeing Rick when he saw his truck for the first time after we got it done made it all worth while.

WOW!!! What an experience. We would do it again. The crew at Varuna and Trick My Truck was acceptional to work with. They are as welcoming, wonderfully fun and talented as they appear on T.V. The response is unbelievable. A parade of hundreds welcomed us home, since then the parade has never stopped. We still can’t believe its all real. The guys ARE the real thing and we can’t thank the crew and staff of Varuna enough. All ages have enjoyed the truck. And we love our Truck. We welcome everyone to come see it. My husband ( local driver for Univar USA ) and I think Code Red and the 343 simcox truck you did are the best! Ryno, your my favorite! That is one heck of a paint job! You never stop amazing me! Kind of out of the loop there for a bit….what the heck happend to the Pickett Bros and the Boss man Brian????? Sad to not see them anymore, glad Ryno and Rob are still there!

hey guys, i watch your show all the time and really admire your work. i have a plain white 2003 chevrolet s-10 extended cab pick up truck with diamond plated tool box, VERY PLAIN LOOKING. i like the white, when it’s sparkling clean, and i’ve had the tool box polished out but you can’t tell it now. i’ve thought about having a lift kit put on it, i think toyota truck’s sit higher, i’m only 5′ 7″ tall i,m disabled with CHF,COPD so i would like to make in expensive changes or one at a time that would dramatically change the appearance of my truck. make it look more aggressiive, masculine, SHARP. any suggestions where i could get some ideas or what would you suggest please send pictures of ideas or tell me where i could get some. there are some shops around here but the one’s i’ve been to haven’t helped much. PLEASE HELP!!!

For the whiners , if you don’t like what the crew does don’t watch the damn show. Truckers are not the only ones keeping America rollin’. Others out there deserve this as much as a trucker does. TO think that someone who drives a wrecker is not deserving is asinine. Try doing their job for a week. They see death and destruction on a daily basis. How many truckers get out of bed at 3am to go save someone in a wreck, how many truckers get up to go out and scrape up the mess of a 16 yr old kid who was driving too fast and lost control and died. I have not seen a trucker doing that yet. This man saves peoples lives, he sees death and he cleans the aftermath of the destruction. Truckers are not the only ones who deserve to have something like this done for them. If you can’t fathom this become a volunteer firefighter and take the time away from your family to learn to safely fight fire and the 300 hours it takes to learn to be a rescue technician. Then tell me this man did not deserve to have this done for him. Don’t forget the name of the show is trick my truck not “trick my damn semi” because I am a sorry ass whiner.BTW the last time I looked that damn roll back was considered a truck.

Response to Dennis Yeager, don’t ever think something like this won’t happen to you. We had to do our part which was simply put ourselves out there, either rejected or chosen that’s the step you have to take. You can absolutely be one that was chosen the same as us. Never ever think you couldn’t.

My husband has never had a nice vehicle. We purchased a big ram 4×4 truck from my mom. The paint is faded. The dash board is in pieces. I believe we will be able to get it painted in a couple of weeks. But, this man is a wonderful man. He loves to drive the truck and such big plans for it. We don’t owe anything on the truck by we do not have any money to replace it either. So, I was wondering if you have any idea as to where I can go or who I can talk to that would help me trick my husbands truck. I don’t even know where to begin. Thank you for your time.
