Hello, Can someone tell me why CMT is now a pay site and was demanded it be so by the government? I called my cable company (Time Warner; the worst ever) and they told me the government has made them make CMT a pay channel. I now have 5 VH1 stations, which I cannot stomach one; and none of those are priced outside of basic cable.
I loved CMT, and I cannot understand what involvement the government interests are in country music.
It all seems strange to me, but I miss CMT and I guess according to Time Warner that I will not see it again unless I pay up.
If anyone knows anything about this, please let me know.

I have Time Warner and use their internet services as well. Yeah it’s a bit higher but I get basic, extended basic, internet and digital cable (mainly to get GAC) but yeah when I got all of this it cost $89 and now it’s up to $126.00. But still I never have a problem with it. Otherwise, the other option (a phone company) which is cheaper, IS cheaper…people complain about when the phone rings, their internet goes out or they lose calls. Also, you have to put one of those ugly satellites on your house. Frankly, that’s ok if you live in the country but when you live in a subdivision, it’s ugly.
