Trick My Truck: Big Game
Big Game was an awesome truck to work on. We all had a great time working on Derrick's truck because of his love for the outdoors and wild animals, and I think the theme fit perfectly. Ryno laid down some lime time green with killer ripped cheetah print graphics on the outside to get things started. Then the guys installed the 10" lift kit with traction bars with the insane 22" wheels and BF Goodrich tires. The neatest part of Big Game was the aluminum safari rack complete with TVs and sound system in the roof. And we wanted to make sure he could see where he was going, so we custom fabbed a polished stainless steel front bumper with light bar and winch. On the inside, Rob and Oz did their usual magic and loaded it up with an awesome interior and sound system. We had a great time and seeing Derrick's reaction at the reveal was worth all the hard work. I hope everybody enjoys it as much as we did building Big Game. Have fun watching!

Dear Friends at Varuna Films,
We have been given this address as a contact to submit a request for assistance from the Trick My Truck program.
We are the Clatsop Regional Food Bank in Astoria, Oregon. As a program of Clatsop Community Action; a
501 (c) (3), (Fed Tax ID 93-1010260) we supply nutritional food to emergency food pantries, emergency hot meal sites, soup kitchens and emergency shelters for men, women, and families throughout Clatsop County. Although we have experienced continuous increases in food demand, our recent growth in food distribution has reached double digit increases within last years distribution. The near future appears to be grim, and we expect even more demand for emergency food.
We are embarking on the process of building a new Food Distribution Center to fulfill that need; and have been involved in fund raising for 3 ½ years in an attempt to reach our goal.
As part of our future plans we want to develop a Food Mobile concept that will allow us to deliver food to remote areas within county that are currently not being served or where the price of gas to travel to a food pantry now costs more than the emergency food that people receive is valued at. Our residents are truly going without nutritional food for themselves and their children. To assist us in our mission an area business has generously donated two vintage vehicles; however, they are in need of some repair, and need minor body work and painting to be very noticeable and presentable in the county. Although we have made some contact with local body shops and sign companies we have had no response. We suffer from a poor local economy and donations are getting more difficult to acquire. We are asking you to Trick My Trucks in order that we can continue in our mission of fighting hunger and its root causes in Clatsop County, Oregon.
Thank you for any consideration you may give to this request.
I have attached a brief overview of the Clatsop Regional Food Bank for your review.
Stay Strong

Haha well from what I can see is you guys are adored. Well, here’s alittle taste of reality.
You guys are a joke.
Do you know how fake you guys look on tv? Those silly little things you guys do at the beginning of each show is a waste. You make yourselves look like a bunch of fools.
The only thing that is interesting to me are your paintjobs.
My entire family is in the trucking business and they all agree you people are ridiculous. Trucking was an industry revered back in its day, and the guys who made their living driving weren’t these sissies out there today. You know who you are, the ‘new age’ truckers, who go 50mph through a parking lot, leave your trucks idle on a beautiful summer night, cuss and scream on the cb, and brag about your loads that don’t pay crap. You guys are sickening.
Back in the day of B Models, Cannonballs, Emeryvilles, A models, and KB12s, trucks were trucks and guys were real. There are still some hard working real truckers out there, but you people make it look like a joke. Everything you do is so staged and fake, it’s disgusting!
I’ve been to Joplin, and I have been in 4-state. It’s a good shop mind you, but something tells me you guys on TV aren’t the ones doing the work.
My father drives an 88 international and my grandfather drives an 85 pete. They look better than these hunks of junk you guys get that are only 8 or 9 years old. Maybe you should pick people who aren’t truck pigs. My father has practically no time, but his truck is always in good repair and decent to look at. Sure, it isn’t perfect, but it’s a good truck. These guys you get don’t even try and just want a free truck.
In other words, you guys sicken me and probably the rest of the trucking community. You have a great idea going, but you are ruining it with childish jokes and role playing. I’m sadly dissapointed.
I doubt you will send me any kind of response, but I hope you have the decency to explain yourselves.
P.S. Your setup at the ATHS Convention was foolish as well. Every trucker I heard talking about it said you didn’t belong. And you didn’t.
Heather West says:
I’ve been on your site the last three nights trying to figure out how to nominate my husband. So, here I go. I think my husband is a terrific dad and hope you will consider this request. He gave up his 2007 chevy hd pickup when we found out we were having twins - again. Yes, I said again! We traded his good pickup for a mini van. Now superdad, cowboy, salt miner, farm hand, gets by with a 1986 flatbed chevy that has seen it’s better days. Trick his truck, make his day a little brighter, his wheels more dependable and help bring the cool factor back.
John Hudgel says:
I really don’t know if this will really happen but I would like to nominate my son, Jacob, to get his truck looking and running good. You see this truck was his grandmother’s, which is his best friend. It was left to him when she passed in April. I told him we could sell it and get something newer but he refused mainly, I think, because it reminds him of his grandmother. He has been trying to restore it by sanding it down and priming those areas. He has even bought 2 new fenders and a new tailgate. Since Jacob’s mother has had 4 surgeries within the past 3 years and looking forward to another, I don’t have a lot of time (and not much experience) to help him. He has been there for everyone, including his grandmother and his mother, who both have needed him the most. So, if there is any way you could help him with his truck I think he deserves it very much.

I am getting out of the Marine Corps soon and am looking to move to the Joplin/Carthage area. I was wondering if you could drop me a line so that I bend oyur ear oin a couple of things. Thanks!

DON PARKS says:
Please I have sent this to so many organizations and not even got a response to the letter. Your organization reaches a vast majority of people, maybe if some could see it or hear about it. I need help and no one wants to do anything except to say I’m sorry.
Hopefully there is something you can do or know someone who will help. no one will even respond. how are disabled people supposed to get the help they need if no will even take the time to talk to them?
Hello, my name is Don Parks. Are there still any organizations out there that will help disabled people? I have MS and my wife has some severe medical problems, including her spine. I need a lift chair to help me to get out of a chair. I have tried numerous agencies in this area and not one of them will offer to lift a finger. The Savation Army, The United Way, Lifestreams, and others including the govenor’s office was called and all of them say, to bad so sad. My insurance company will only cover $200 toward this chair, which is nice. But that still leaves me paying almost $1200 on the chair. I have no income, I have not worked since May 9, 2008. We live on my wife’s disability check, but that does not leave enough for everything we need. I was approved for social security disability, but I don’t get my check until late December or early January. My question to you is, is there any place a disabled person can get some help that is deperately needed? Even with my check, there is no way to get what I need. I have checked with different medical supply stores in ANderson and Middleton and they will not take payments. They say pay it all up front or no chair. Not counting the chair I still need to find a full size 4×4 pickup truck to carry 2 electric wheelchairs. The truck would need a camper shell on it to cover the lift chairs. If a person is on disability how are they suppose to get what they need if no one will help? thank you for time.

I’m not sure if this is the place to request somebody for the show but this is all i’ve found so far. I want to nominate my dad because he works so hard for his family. My mom, 2 little sisters, and me miss him so much when he’s over the road. He hates being away but he wants us to have everything we need. All truck drivers work hard but my dad is definitely one of those that work extremely hard. He is sometimes gone months at a time, having almost no breaks, and little to no sleep most of the time. I feel he deserves something nice to drive while he is gone and working so hard. Please take this into consideration. Thank you!

My brother Tyler 27 years old with a wife, 15 month son and one on the way has spent the last 2 years driving truck trying to supprt his family.Ten years before that he worked on them. A week ago he went to the emergency room to find out he has a cavernoma (a lesion on his lower spine that is bleeding out) making him paralyzed from his waste down. As rough as this is for all of our family he still wants to drive truck. For that to happen, obviously there needs to be modifications. It would be a dream come true to have you do it ! We all would be appreciative and best of all, it would put a smile on Tyler’s face.. Which we haven’t got to see alot of lastely.

My father in law passed of lung cancer in 1982. He was loved very much and is deeply missed. He was a welder and had an old 1973 truck with a 429 motor. His business name is barely visible but still exists on the doors. The truck was left to my husband in 1982 and for 19 years it has been sitting in our back yard as a reminder. The truck has always needed many repairs and over the years my husband has tried to save money to restore it to it’s original condition. He has hired the work out twice, only to be disappointed when minimal repairs have been done, but with a stiff bill. The last attempt was probably ten years ago and when he finally picked the truck up, no work was done & accessories were missing. The amazing thing about the truck is no matter how long is sits neglected, it still runs. The last two years my husband has considered letting the truck go and I always manage to stop him. He was very close to his father and thinks of him often. We now have a 12 year old son that loves trucks and wants to be a mechanic when he grows up. He tells me he will fix it up when he learns how. Please consider this request to fix up this truck as a surprise and in memory of a very wonderful man and bring closure to this journey.
Tayler Wieling says:
I always wanted to nominate someone for trick my truck. I dont think its a joke. And times are tough now, things are getting more and more expensive and living the everyday life just gets harder. I am 16 years old and i just got my liscence. My dad is a body man at Rex’s Body Shop in Vincennes IN. He is an amazing dad. He took my truck which started out as nothing and is turning it into something special and really something cool. He works so hard every day to make ends meet with bills and work. We just sold a camper a few days ago and we ride horses so we had to have something to stay in while we went to the NBHA State show (we barrel race with horses) so he is taking my grandpas old horse trailer and “tricking” it. He had to cut out the first petition in the trailer to make the living quarters bigger and now hes having to build up where the bathroom is going to be because it isn’t all the same level. He has a lot of work ahead of him and i wish i could fix it all for him, but I can’t because I know nothing about it. He drives a 95 Ford power stroke with a 7.3, and its looking rough its needs some TLC, I remember the day we got the truck, the guy said ” she cleans up real nice” my dad loves this truck and I know that he would love to drive it for years to come. he already had to put a new high pressure oil pump on it that costed almost a thousand dollars and he did all of the labor himself on it. I would like to nominate him because he is doing all of this work for us “girls” and he never has time to fix something that is his. He deserves better than I can give him please help me!

My dad is a very kind and generous, dad and helps gives to anybody that needs help. If theres any way you could help i would appreciate it he really is one that deserves it could you please help.

I need your help, my dad has always been a hard worker and has worked many side jobs just to keep up on the bills. He owns a ‘97 Chevy s10 5-speed and its not in the best of condition. He has wanted to fix this truck up to be presentable to the world but he doesnt have the money to fix anything on it. On top of the hard work he does, he worried day in and day out about my mom which is in a fight for her life with many medical issues. Not to include my little brother that has medical issues as well. I am one of the many people that see my dad work so hard and would love to see him have his truck tricked out. I hope you can help, Thanks alot!!!
Zachary Wheeler says:
Hello,
My name is Zachary. I understand that its a long-shot, but i would like to nominate my father, Roderick, for trick my truck. He is truly a great man, husband, and father. He is a hard worker at a Power Plant, and retired from the Navy after serving 24 years. I followed his footsteps and joined the military as well. I joined the Army though. While in Afghanistan my father always wrote me and sent me care packages. No matter how bad it was over there, he had a way to make not only me, but my soldiers feel safe and loved. He doesn’t have a lot of money so he obviously cannot afford a new, or nice truck. Now he is driving a 1970 Chevy Pick-Up Longbed. But recently my parents property caught fire and the bed of the truck was damaged so since then has been parked. Like I said, I know its a longshot. But your help would be a dream, and help out my father so much. Thank you for your time.
Michelle says:
Hello! I would absolutely love to nominate my husband for ‘Trick My Truck’. He used to own a 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 with all the bells and whistles… until we had a wonderful surprise that we were expecting. Once we had our son he has sacrificed a lot to make sure our son and I are safe. He traded in his truck so that I could have a new SUV with 4 wheel drive (we live in the Midwest). He now drives a 1985 Chevy Silverado that is basically a shell on wheels and has a mind of its own and decides when it wants to run (also found out with our 1st snow fall this year his 4 wheel drive doesn’t work). Please keep in mind that the neighbors of our small town has to suffer as well because not only is it hideous looking with the multi colored body, he leaves for work at 6am and his truck wakes up everyone (including our son) when he leaves. He has done so much for us to make sure he provides for our family and I would love to repay him in some remarkable way, and this is above and beyond of what I know he could imagine!
Please take my request in consideration and I would be the happiest wife ever!
Thanks a Bunch!
