Trick My Truck: Deeply Rooted

Posted: June 2nd, 2008 at 12:48 pm  |  By: Kelvin Locklear

Deeply RootedDeeply Rooted was a great project to work on due to the connection Jay Whiteford has with his family. On the inside, Rob installed realistic 3D roots and Ryno painted the floor to match his paint job on the outside. The coolest part about the truck hides directly under the Jones Performance hood -- a brand new Series 60, 500-horsepower Detroit engine. The new engine is attached to a brand new 10-speed Eaton Fuller transmission. Not only will Jay ride down the road with his stylish looks, but he will also be able to get there with no worries due to the brand new engine and transmission combination. Deeply Rooted can also parade up and down the highways knowing Ryno painted his truck with the most expensive paint material ever used on one vehicle in the show at a cost of over $10,000. So, now you know a little detail on Deeply Rooted and some of the things that make it unique. If you ever see him riding down the highway on his BF Goodrich tires, give him a big Trick My Truck howdy!

I really loved your show, ETC are excellent truck builders in build offs at truck shows, but THE CHROME SHOP MAFIA AND BRIAN MARTIN ARE STILL THE BEST!!! AND ALWAYS WILL BE!! The new episodes are HORRIBLE as were the last season with csm when cmt had them building worthless trucks. It was an insult to truck builders like csm, and cmt is having ETC’s image look bad too. The IRON MAN TRUCK DOES NOT EVEN HAVE MIRRORS ON IT!!! come on guys, get with it and build real trucks for real drivers. I have been in trucking all my life and work very hard to keep my truck nice, my family fed and bills paid but please do not offer to ruin my truck, unless CSM is coming to get it, and do it the way CMT had trucks in the first season. Also why was ironman built from a very clean w900b, if you are going to destroy a truck the junk yards are full of them. Thank you for letting me vent.

My wife Peggy deserves some help with her old friend, her truck.
She bought a Ford 350 in 1976 and still runs it everyday, doing her cows, chickens, and farm.
Or, I say she bought it: actually our 2 year old at the time, Sally, paid the truck dealer a penny
for it and he congratulated her on buying it! Over the years, it’s done a little of everything and
still has a good engine at 140,000 miles. Many a time Peggy came up the road 40 miles to
visit her parents with 3 kids playing in the back of the king-cab. And a couple of times had some
four-legged kids in the bed(recently orphaned goats on the bottle.)
Well, the truck is a good and old friend in the orange and white of the seventies, but Peggy
deserves to have it tricked out. The carpet and the upholstery are holy in more than two ways,
and the chrome is coming off. The bed had a battery spill and make holes in it, and the
tail gate don’t work any more. It would be a good and entertaining story for TV, and Peggy
really deserves to have that truck tricked.

The old crew is gone and I am sad about that. The new crew is building some awesome rigs. I understand things change and many times change indicates a different direction. I like to see the different types of trucks. I liked Mad Max. Deeply Rooted is not my favorite .I think my favorite is Ironman. Talk about change, the work Steve and crew perform is great. Rob and Rino…..well their work speaks
    for itself.

    Keep it up

i think the work you do on this show is great. i am a neice of a retired truck driver, and it’s awful at how so many people can disrespect them and not realize how bad their bodies get beat up, even tho most people think they are just sitting there. my uncle has had 2 back surgeries and carpel tunnel surgery. anything to make a driver’s ride more comfortable, the better, and it’s awesome that the guys from Chrome Shop Mafia would go as far as to make it look awesome and feel comfortable at the same time. Thank you guys so very much.

I am posting this till someone responds: I want to know if Trick my Truck is going to do a special episode in memory of Jake Eilen. Tom Eilen has had many trucks worked on by Chrome shop Mafia, and we have been hearing that Tom was sending one of Jake’s trucks down for a special show. My husband used to drive for Tom and we all would like to know so we know when to tune in and start the DVR.

i read the comment left on here about one of Jake Eilen’s rigs possibly being in a show in regards to his memory. if that does happen, please send out info on the date it will be done. i drive for a company in newport, mn and i have a friend that knows and hangs out with Jakes brother Pat! after hearing about Jakes incident a couple days after it happened, i wondered myself if Tom would do some kind of memorial of Jake. i think itd be a pretty cool thing!

Hello. My dad is 41 years old and has been driving truck for 20 years now. Back in 2001 My dad had a heart attack and was off the road for a pretty long time. Without any money coming into the family, we lost our house and his big truck, with his truck being the only money maker for the family.. We have moved about 8 times since then and now are still struggling with trying to get back on track after 8 years. My dad owns a 1995 Kenworth. He has drove coal bucket for quite awhile and then quit to try and and make more money hauling flat bed. My dad works every week and is only in two days on the weekend. He hates waking up every morning in his truck knowing that he wont be in with the family because hes trying to make more money to put into his truck to make sure it stays running and make sure there is heat on in the house and food for us to eat. My dad means the world to us and we are trying are best to get him into TRICK MY TRUCK. We are big fans of the show and love to watch it. Alls I’m saying is, Would You Please, Trick my Dad’s Truck?

Jay Whiteford brought his Tricked Out Truck (Deeply Rooted) to our 30th High School Class reunion in Greenville, NC. He told us that it was parked out in the parking lot…and a bunch of us went out to see it!

CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY! The paint job, the engine, the interior.

One of the girls JOKINGLY said it was so incredible that she want to have sex in the cab! We laughed so hard, but honestly, we were truly amazed.

Jay’s a great guy and we’re all so glad he was chosen/blessed by CMT to have his truck tricked! :) Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! :)
