Can You Duet: Jeremiah
Jeremiah Richey is one of the finalists in CMT's Can You Duet competition.
Well, this last week was REALLY rough on me. After last week's performance I have been really struggling with my confidence and can't help but wonder if I even belong here. One of the things that drives me as an artist though is feeling like I am never good enough. I am never satisfied with a performance and last week helped me in a sense.
I know that we are not invincible and that every moment we have on this show counts. It felt so good to get back on stage and show the fans and the judges that we do belong here. It was also a lot of fun getting to work with some original material (I can only take so many covers!). I want to say a very special thank you to all of the people out there in T.V. land that did not give up on us. We are here to entertain all of you and I hope we get the chance to do it for years to come.

Jeremiah, Don’t be so hard on yourself. I mean, I know you have to be in a way. But, everyone makes mistakes. And, I have to say…you were not the only one off pitch. I think you were given too much of the blame. You guys did awesome tonight!

I like you a lot better than your partner. You have a more down home attitude than your cocky friend. You are the better singer too. He isn’t all that he thinks he is, so don’t let him beat you up. You hang in there.

I think you are beating yourself up way too much over one not-quite-perfect performance. You’re only human!! Also, I don’t think the song was THAT bad, and Nick was just as off as you were. You definitely still belong in the competition and I can’t wait to hear you and Nick’s next song!

You are beyond “Good Enough”.
Even with an off-harmony in one week; I have found your performances to be extraordinary and I have taped the performances just to listen to the music again until I can actually buy a “Brownell & Richey” CD.
I can honestly say I would buy a CD “sight unseen” knowing I would listen to it in its entirety and love every track.
I would feel the same about attending a live performance.
I am not alone.
What a rare, phenominal talent and appeal - best of luck to you in the remaining weeks.
Just relax, have a good time and know there is a reason you are where you are while you’re there and enjoy it.
It will translate and your fan base will continue to grow!

I love you guys! You have a great sound together. I think your music is better when you sing lead and Nick comes in on harmony. I too have listened to your songs several times. The previous posters are correct. In reference to the night you guys were somewhat off. The song was off-key from the very first “baby” as Nick began.
Keep up the great work. Looking forward to buying your CD soon.

just because someone is cocky doesn’t mean he is a bad person.i’m sure nick is a great friend to jeremiah and he was never really putting him down, its nick’s job to be cocky,which is sometimes good.if nick was as down to earth as jeremiah is,brownell and richey would be boring.you need to have a cocky bad boy(nick) so boy next door(jeremiah) can balance him out so they can keep rockin nick said on his blog that he didn’t do his best either i am a nick and jeremiah fan all the way they both have amazing talent and are both unearthly hot so nick haters would yall just take a chill pill please!and jeremiah haters too!-peace,love,brownell&richey :-)
