Dierks Bentley included a live version of "Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go)," which he recorded at Bonnaroo last year, on his new Greatest Hits album. One particular fan at the Tennessee music festival certainly had a "free and easy" way of showing her admiration. I was there too, and let’s just say there was more than life flashing before my eyes.

"At Bonnaroo, people have a different way of expressing themselves, as far as showing their pleasure with the song, showing that they like what you’re doing," Bentley says, choosing his words carefully. "Maybe it’s because they were drinking water or a beer and they had their hands occupied and couldn’t clap. One girl chose to sit on someone’s shoulders for the majority of the show, really, and um, just let herself kind of be free and easy, and, you know, let all her joy hang out there. And it was appreciated by the band and I’m sure many of the male members of the audience. It was pretty wild."

Check out the performance and download some of my favorite Dierks songs.

Dierks Bentley is the only artist out there that I love every song of. My top-five non-radio favorites are

    1. Hope For Me Yet
    2. Can’t Live It Down
    3. Forget About You
    4. That Don’t Make It Easy Lovin Me
    5. Cab Of My Truck

but I seriously love all of his songs.

Going to Fan Fair next week and am pretty bummed Dierks won’t be there. He’s one of the main reasons I’m traveling from CA to TN. Oh well, I still love Dierks; he’s may absolute favorite!!!
