Around the Web: Swift, Pickler Co-Write a Song
Sometimes, one gorgeous and gifted singer-songwriter just isn't enough. Maybe that's why Kellie Pickler and Taylor Swift teamed up to write a song for Pickler's new album.
Who is Emily Noxon? Just a girl from Utah ... until she takes the stage with Rascal Flatts on June 14 in Indy. She won their Milk Rock Star contest.
Once again, there's a Nashville connection to American Idol's finale. Regie Hamm won the show's second annual songwriting contest with his "Time of Your Life," a song Idol winner David Cook sang Wednesday night (May 21).
Nigel Lythgoe may know how to produce American Idol, but he's off the mark when it comes to sizing up the reasons for Kellie Pickler's success. Shame on him.

Nigel Lythgoe needs his A$$ kicked. What the hell? Someone has some issues to get over. Kellie is an amazing artist and entertainer. His remarks are rude , uncalled for, and TOTALLY OFF THE MARK ! Kellie is very talented singer and song writer. Her success, has everything to do with her amazing voice, her stage presence, her personality, she is the whole package, she keeps you entertained from the first note, all the way til the very last. She leaves you wanting more, she is an icon in the making. She will be around for years to come, lighting the way for up and coming new artists.

How do we know Kellie’s success as a country artist isn’t at least in part a result of her augmentation? Lythgoe gives no reason to believe the surgery caused her success, but the comments on this thread give no reason to believe the surgery isn’t at least one factor in her success.
At a minimum, Kellie’s surgery has resulted in many newspaper articles and internet articles being written. That’s free publicity that probably helps her career. And she often poses in ways that show off he cleavage in pictures. I wouldn’t put it past some people to buy CDs because they like the singer’s cleavage.

His quote was “She’s acquired two accoutrements that (naturally) photogrophers and men love. I’m not sure what it cost her, but obviously it was well worth it.”
He isn’t saying her career wouldn’t have happened absent the boob job. He isn’t saying she is talentless or that her only talent is her breasts.
If he is saying that the fake boobs helped Kellie’s career, he isn’t the only one in country music that thinks fake boobs help a career. For instance, Loretta Lynn got fake boobs to specifically to further her career (she eventually took them out). The idea that an entertainer can further her career by ramping up her sex appeal is fairly commonplace.

Acquiring, remodeling, presenting ‘ta-tas’ has been an increasing trend nationwide with the true epicenter starting in Southern California. Many of the latest fashions need to be ‘ta-ta’ compatible or they aren’t wearable.
What Nigel publicly said was tasteless, classless, and not his business to say about Kellie. It was also a bit strange, ‘Brits’ like him pride themselves on taste and class. Has Nigel succumbed to ‘put a few billion dollars’ (with American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, etc.etc.) in his pocket and he can say what he wants? No matter how eloquently stated, Nigel was talking trash.

Emily Noxon: I watched what appeared to be a home video with her singing ‘What Hurts The Most’ with what sounded like a recorded track to accompany her in a dining room where the table had been removed. As ‘raw’ as the presentation, this young woman has a voice that came through wonderfully. It’s gonna be fun and interesting to see where she takes it from here. I sure hope she and her family save that video and watch it at her every ‘milestone’. Of course, my fun is to watch, listen for newcomers, so I appreciate your mention of Emily Noxon.

Let’s face it, Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe, and Kellie’s label which is controlled by Idol producer Simon Fuller and Sony/BMG’s Joe Galante, all just happen to be jealous that everyone likes Kellie more than their snoozefest Carrie Whatever Her Name Was.
Kellie never had breast implants, but since Nigel and her label can’t handle that Kellie and her music are more popular among music fans than Carrie is, they are bound to make up lies like this. I’m sure it beats having to tell the press why the millions who bought Carrie’s first cd aren’t falling for buying her second even with all the overpromotion they have done with this lame singer and her music.
It can easily be proven that Kellie never had breast implants. One only needs to look at the video and photos of Kellie when she was on American Idol singing “Fancy”. Because in that performance she was wearing a red top, the same red top she has worn several times the past couple years, and when you compare recent photos of Kellie wearing this top to the ones from “Fancy”, one can clearly see that her breasts are the same exact size in all the photos. There aren’t any bra’s to distort the size or image. So perhaps this loser Nigel would like to explain where this notion came from that Kellie had her breasts enlarged, oh wait I remember, it came from his own show where Ryan Seacrest started the rumor. So Nigel still wants people to fall for the rumor he started, no thanks Nigel, I’m not a gullible idiot like you would like me to be. I’m also not gullible enough to buy this second album of Carrie’s. As they say, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice…….
The fans and photographers give Kellie more attention because that’s who the music fans like the most. It’s that simple. They give Carrie alot less attention because very few people like her, unfortunately Nigel and those who control these two girls contracts refuse to accept that fact, and instead spread lies like these in order to hide it. Pathetic I know, but that’s Nigel and Sony/BMG for you.
Perhaps if Kellie fans spent their time doing something useful, like showing these photo comparisons on Kellie’s fan sites, then they wouldn’t have to waste their time here complaining about this rumor Nigel and her label like to spread, because they’ll just look like the liars they are if they continue this nonsense knowing the proof is there for all to see. Until then I guess you’ll all look like fools.
I personally put up the photo comparisons on Kellie’s dot com site several months ago, in return my post was removed and I was banned from the site for life by Kellie’s management who runs the site, so you can’t say I didn’t try to put this rumor to bed. So Kellie fans, what’s your excuse, or are you too busy believing Nigel’s lie’s yourself. If that’s the case then your just as pathetic as Nigel in my opinion.

But I think the hack just took the quotes out of context to try to stir up controversy.
Here are some facts that prove Nigel (if he said that) and the hack wrong.
All the rumors about Kellie’s breast enhancements began in March 2007 when she appeared on Idol.
Before that …
1. Kellie was one of the most popular Idol contestants ever, finishing sixth in the show’s most popular season. (Only Chris Daughtry has sold more CDs from that season.)
2. Kellie was the best-selling new country solo artist of 2006.
3. Kellie’s first CD was certified gold in January 2007.
4. Kellie’s video for “Red High Heels” was officially released on Oct. 20, 2006. It reached No. 1 on the GAC Top 20 Countdown in early February.
5. Kellie actually sold more copies of “Small Town Girl” BEFORE the Idol appearance than after. Like most albums, STG sold more when it was new. Duh.
The notion that Kellie owes her success to a boob job is clearly false.
Now, I know for a fact that Kellie LOST fans as a result of the Idol appearance. They posted messages on fan boards and blogs saying so.
Heck, she lost fans when she cut her hair, too.
However, I don’t ever recall seeing someone ever post a message saying “I only bought her record because she has big boobs.”
There must be hundreds of aspiring country singers waiting tables in Nashville with fake boobs.
Kellie co-wrote five of the songs on STG, including two of the three singles. Her boobs didn’t write those songs. Her boobs didn’t sing the songs.
Kellie earned her success though hard work and talent.
