Whose Tat Is That?
After about a decade of taking concert photos, I finally invested in a nice zoom lens about three years ago. It pretty much changed my life. No longer did I come home with shot after shot of a tiny artist on a big ugly stage. That lens gave me the power to get tighter than tight on their faces. And what I discovered is that while you can certainly get extreme close-ups of the artists singing, you can also zoom in on everything else. And by everything else, I mean the tattoos that grace their skin.
Tight shots of tattoos have become kind of a side passion of mine. Since there’s not really a market for selling these pictures, I thought a post a few of my favorites here for a name-that-tat game. Are you up for it? One is a gimme, but the other three are a little tougher to figure out because artists don’t flaunt their ink the way the Angelina Jolies of the world do. So I’ll give you hints. Then post your answers in the comment section, and I will report back in a couple days with the answers.
Upper left — If you don’t know this one already, you’re probably on the wrong Web site.
Upper right — This hand held the hand of a budding teen star.
Lower left — This wrist works just as well on banjos and pianos as it does on guitars.
Lower right — This guy’s other important body part made its debut in 2003.
