Rhonda Vincent's New Video Launches Bluegrass Month

Posted: May 1st, 2008 at 10:55 am  |  By: Rhonda Vincent

Editor's Note: To kick off Bluegrass Month in May, the CMT Music Blog is proud to debut Rhonda Vincent's new video, "I Gotta Start Somewhere."

2008 is off to an incredible start. What a way to celebrate the new year with a No. 1 album. And WOW ... 7 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on Billboard. Next to be released is the new video of "I Gotta Start Somewhere." It's always exciting to shoot a new video, though I walked barefoot by a creek in summer clothes in 40 degree weather and ended up with bronchitis. And do you know, they didn't even use the creek shot.

Dallas Henry did a great job and his entire crew was great to work with. Check out my possible love interest in the video. Vance Mitchell is the guy at Clampett's Hardware Store. Watch for him in the current Acura car commercial. It's always fun to have guests when we shoot a video. Who would have known that the little girl in my "If Heartaches Had Wings" video would eventually become Hannah Montana? So look out for Vance. This was my seventh career video. I can't say they're exactly FUN to make, but they're sure fun when they're finished. Be sure to watch!

Great video, you should play it often now that it’s available. You should also play her other videos as much as possible. Rhonda must be very dedicated to her work, to have bronchitis and keep on filming, then the directors to not even use it. I think more artists should be just like Rhonda and be more dedicated to ther music and fans. I hope this video goes to number 1! and win an award that she deserves.

She is such a lady! And the Voice! You never miss any word in her songs. Beautiful place, I would love to spend time in a place like this cabin. Would be nice to have a little more time with the video “clips”. There is so much to see and the shots move a little fast to get the full effect.

  • Gary Kennedy says:

    Posted: May 2nd, 2008 at 11:44 am

Doug and Pat, that’s a very good point about never missing any word in her songs. Rhonda’s voice is as clear as that mountain stream in North Carolina. As much as I loved this song when I first heard it on her latest CD “Good Thing Going”, I like it even more after watching this video. It’s always great to see how RHONDA VINCENT puts everything that she has into every song that she sings. That’s what makes her live performances so amazing. Oh, and I don’t know if anyone else noticed this, but she’s really gorgeous!

  • Tom Alman says:

    Posted: May 2nd, 2008 at 11:59 am

That Rhonda has the whole package. Looks and talent. It don’t get much better then that. Rhonda was so kind to let us watch this song from the beginning, to the finished product. This is one beautiful piece of work, just like the person that sings it!!!

The day I bought Rhonda’s new cd and heard this song, I fell in love with it! Rhonda and the Rage never cease to amaze me with their God given talents. The video is great and those harmonies are down right perfect! I’ve been a Rhonda fan for a long time, and she justs keeps getting better and better. CMT should have this video in heavy rotation, as well as all those DJ’s out there. I’ve always said Rhonda could sing the phone book and make it sound good! Keep up the awesome work guys!
    God Bless you!
