Julianne Hough’s New Video Premieres

Posted: April 11th, 2008 at 10:05 am  |  By: Julianne Hough

Hey everyone,

Today is so exciting for me. My debut video for “That Song In My Head” is premiering here on CMT.com.

(Either JavaScript is not active or you are using an old version of Adobe Flash Player. Please install the newest Flash Player.)

The video was directed by the fabulous Trey Fanjoy out in Ventura Beach, Calif., (on a day off from Dancing With the Stars). It was absolutely freezing and really windy as I did those long walking scenes down the pier, and I had goosebumps all day! My family was there to support me and you can even see my brother Derek in the beach party scene. He was there taking pictures of the whole day and trying to tell Travis van Winkle, my love interest in the video, to watch out! Travis was so much fun to work with. Most recently he was in Meet the Spartans and Tranformers. I can’t express how excited I am about my music and I can’t wait to share it with you all. I’ll see you on the road soon enough! :)

Love,
Julianne Hough

WOW, I was afraid Julianne would diminsh her worth as an incredible dancer by trying to sing. Trying…no she CAN sing. What a great song, the video is great and she comes across as a sweet person. Move over Taylor Swift…here come Julianne.

Aren’t you LDS? I am and I was kinda disappointed that you weren’t more modest if you are LDS. we need good strong role models who stand for every thing that they believe in.

Yawn. If it weren’t for her looks and body, she wouldn’t have a record deal.

Thanks Shania for making actual talent dead last and outer beauty the most important factor for Nashville to consider.

    Julianne,
I was certain that your voice would be weak, and that you were just another pretty face getting some attention they don’t deserve in a different area. I will proudly state that I was wrong. I really really loved your song. It’s great! It embraces my favorite part of country music, that it tells a story and makes sense without degrading anyone and is clean. You are a beautiful person, but I know you hear that all the time. I appreciate that you bring your religion into things and that you aren’t afraid to proclaim your love of God. Thank you for that! You are an excellent role model for young ladies, and a counter-part to those other Hollywood brats. Thanks again, and I love your voice. Can’t wait to hear your music on the radio!

I have been watching Dancing with the Stars since season one. And if she ever gets tired of that dancing thing she has a future in country music. I loved her video, it was fun and no frills. She looked like she was having fun making it. Keep the songs coming Julianne.

I love watching you on DWTS. I faithfully watch it every week. I have picked you as the winner on the previous 2 seasons, from the very first show. I just couldn’t say that this season (sorry). You are an amazing dancer and I loved your video. Best wishes with your singing career and I hope you will continue to do DWTS.

That was a great video. They put it together real well; didn’t like that gray dress/gown tho. Another color would have been better. Saw Derek n i thought Zack was in it too. Video sort of reminded me of Katharine McPhee’s ‘Love Story’ video.
Besides presenting at the CMT awards, thought u n Tony Dovolani would dance a number like u did recently at the GMAmerica Show (just beautiful) to a number sang by Dolly Parton. They should let u n Tony dance, give the show a different spin. I also love the song “Jimmy Ray McGee” thats in your coming album. Hope that’s u’re next single w/a video. I think that will sell even bigger.
Must add that I watched u on DWTS also n thought u were the best cheog. that show ever had via Apolo n being so young too. We’re watching u grow up. Just b your true self.

Not bad video, but prefer song “Jimmy Ray McGee.” Hope that will b you’re next single w/video. Think that will b a best seller. Also, i think when u go on tour, mayb u should get 2 back up singers/dancers, put another spin on these tours. U could cheog. the dancers. U could dance n sing at the same time. That would certainly draw a bigger audience n b more marketable. Somewhat like ST, on a different level.

    Julianne-

Get ready for some awards. I was able to hear some more of your up coming album, you tube videos. Had to place my order for the CD immediately. I’m an old guy who is currently working on a new movie script, yep it will have country music. The path and experience we all take is a gift that we all need to hold close to our heart and to be thankful to Him for giving us our gifts. Love and Blessin’ you.

By dandriogw: I would agree that her songs are catchy. My only serious critique is that she seems to be using every country cliché out there in her songs (pick up trucks, two-tone Fords, etc.) Along with that, she seems to be trying a little too hard with the thick drawl in her voice. She doesn’t have a southern accent n she doesn’t need to use one. Hope country fans don’t shy away from this because she definitely has talent as a singer n is extremely easy on the eyes. However, I wonder how country fans will react to the questionable authenticity of her persona.
By realitytvguy: Hopefully she will incorporate lots more dance in her future videos and on stage in concert n TV performances.

I was a little apprehensive about Julianne making an album. I mean, she’s just a dancer, right? WRONG!!! As soon as that girl opened her mouth, I knew she could sing! Way to go Julianne! Keep up the great dancing and singing.

I agree, If I were you I’d be glad to listen to both your earthly father as well as your Heavenly Father and be more modest! It’s so important!

You’ve got young girls and members of the church out their that want to be just like you. We need the example you set to be ones that will help us parents everywhere encourage good gospel principles.
When we become prideful and think we can “make our own decisions” is when we need to reflect on truth and who we really are. Heavenly Father and all LDS parents are depending on you. We love you Julianne, don’t let the world convince you it doesn’t matter.

  • Marnie says:

    Posted: June 1st, 2008 at 11:01 pm

^ Julianne should not bear a burden of being what others think she should be. She is a wondeful young woman, and it’s a bit disrespectful for anyone to preach to her what she should or shouldn’t be doing in regards to decisions about her own life.

Julianne, congrats on the album and all the wonderful things that have come your way. Enjoy it all, you deserve it! I’m really enjoying your songs. And your dancing will always be special because that’s how I came to be a fan. You and Apolo blew me away watching you on your first season of DWTS. I can’t believe that was just a year ago! Good luck with everything and do what makes you happy. You don’t owe anyone anything but to just be yourself and make your own heartfelt decisions that are right for you.
