Some Pregnancy Advice for Mrs. Urban
Keith Urban is going to be a father. Yee-haw. But for now, he's going to have to take a backseat to his wife. She's the important one now. So I have some advice for her. Not just the stop coloring your hair, eat dark leafy greens and rub Tummy Honey on your belly kind of advice. That, you can find on any Web site. But I've had three healthy pregnancies, yielding three gorgeous babies, so I'm here to help.First, Nicole will need cute clothes. And Pickles & Ice Cream Maternity Apparel in Franklin, Tenn., is about as adorable as maternity clothes get. Citizens of Humanity jeans, Japanese Weekend tops. She'll be able to look as good as she always does, without ever leaving Nashville. (Although, I had lots of luck with the Hollywood system for making your regular jeans last longer: loop a ponytail holder through the buttonhole, leave your jeans unzipped and attach the other end of the ponytail holder around the button.)
Next, she'll need to eat right. And by "right" I mean "more." From the looks of her, she must have some kind of super-fast metabolism. So that will have to stop if she wants to grow a new life inside her. I recommend Jack's Bar-B-Que in downtown Nashville for a meat-and-three at least twice a week.
Then, she'll need to get lots of rest. I remember reading in my pregnancy bible, What to Expect When You're Expecting, that a pregnant woman's body at rest is working harder than a non-pregnant woman's body is when she's mountain climbing. So if there's a couch in the Urban-Kidman house, she should be on it. A Pregnancy Wedge is a godsend when you get too big to get comfortable.
When she does have energy, though, I suggest working on her upper body strength. Nobody told me how hard my skinny little arms would have to work during labor.
Imagine doing a combination pull-up/sit-up, using bed rails to get leverage, and you have some idea what labor is like. For the top half of you, anyway.
But the most critical thing Nicole needs to do right now is teach her husband some lullabies. You can hardly rock a newborn to sleep at night with "Stupid Boy." I'm thinking more "Hush Little Baby," but with banjo.

While I do not follow these artists very closely, out of curiosity, I have the read the comments and have some of mine own:
First, having a child is something special between a couple.
Second, We have no idea of what goes on behind the scenes of these very famous couples. Just maybe, The Urbans spend time with her children from her first marriage, but doesn’t want the media to know.
Third, Who are we to judge? We don’t know all the details and why should we, they’re not our family, they are performers we enjoy.
Fourth, This was just a column, sounding a little tongue in cheek and that’s how I read it. It made me smile.
Just let people enjoy the joy in their lives.

This is Keith and Nicole’s moment. CONGRATULATIONS! (Adoption is a wonderful blessing, I know because I am adopted. I also have two children of my own and that also is a wonderful blessing. Giving life to another individual is an unselfish and loving act.)

Having just seen Keith for the first time in NJ last year, I was blown away not only by his tremendous musical talent, but also by the way he relates so intimately to each and everyone in these huge venues that he plays in.
What a treasure he is. I couldn’t have been more delighted for him and his delightful wife, Nicole, when I heard that were having that much-wanted baby. I’m sure that they will cherish this baby as much as they obviously cherish one another. May God bless them all with health and happiness in the years to come.

I’m so thrilled for Keith and Nicole. My first thought when hearing the news was Keith being on tour with Kenny this summer and I thought this is the time when you have to make a decision and I pray that Keith will take all the time he, Nicole and the baby needs to be only a full time father….sure your fans will miss you out there on the road, but you can never get back time with the precious baby you are about to have, so please take time to enjoy every second with your child and I pray the same for Nicole.

MY OPINION… Nicole didn’t have her own children with wacky for a reason. God knew. Adopting was a GREAT decision for her. I think Keith is getting the rest of his dream fulfilled and is VERY deserving of it after his long wait and up-hill battle. Kudos Nicole and Keith :)

Had to skip past so many of the extremely judgmental posts here. An old saying came to mind when scanning those posts: You don’t know what goes on behind closed doors so don’t make judgments until you know. In other words, unless each of you are personal friends of Keith & Nicole, Tom & Katie and Nicole & Tom’s children you have no idea who the children call mom, who they live with, whether they live with each parent half the year or just what the heck is going on.
What I do know is Keith & Nicole are having their first child together, a baby that they each have wanted to give to each other, an extension of their love for each other. From all accounts and appearances it appears they love each other dearly, dote on each other and are desperately trying to have a normal life together, apart from the paparazzi who stalk them. They are just like any other couple who are expecting their first child, except that they’re both famous. They will buy maternity clothes, baby clothes, baby furniture, read books and attend classes and do the best they can to raise a happy and well-adjusted child. What else can one ask?
I say congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Urban on the impending birth of their first child together. Congratulations to Connor & Isabella on the impending birth of a brother or sister. And, congratulations to the grandparents. Wishing everyone peace, joy and happiness.

This is the best news! I am so very happy for you both. I went to my first KU concert on Nov. 1, 2007, and because of my sign, I got a wink and Keith blew me a kiss! The sign said “NICOLE SAID TO KISS ME!” Now I can just imagine Keith planting a sweet kiss on his newborn baby’s forehead!
You will both be AUSSOME parents! Everyone can just see the love you have for each other radiating around you! This child will be such a blessing for you, and all of your fans!
The only advice I have is to stay close, get lots of rest, and continue to spend time together as a couple (I can babysit anytime!)
I can just imagine how cute Nicole will dress this little boy/girl! And with parents as kind and loving as Keith and Nicole, well, this little bundle just HAS to be a blessing to the rest of the world, too!
Enjoy this miraculous time together! (These are the times we will remember….these are the times that won’t come again…….)

Many congrats to you both. Well, I have some advice that might be helpful for morning sickness. Before you go to bed at night, put some ice in a glass and add water to it. Put it in the refrigerator over night. When you get up in the morning, take small sips and that should help. Well, I hope this helps, and congrats again.

They’ve had 18 months together of just them and each attaining their professional success. I don’t expect too much to change for Keith, as he performs on stage out of “sheer love of it”. However, Nicole will have to take a break from her typical global lifestyle, especially if she’s considered a high risk pregnancy, which may just be simply a matter of age. 9 months is long time of anticipation, but I believe these 2 have it all planned out; and a well organized life after baby - in Australia, despite buying the farm in TN for a PR residence.
Keith appears to pine for and protect his wife incessantly. He’ll be in for a surprise when he realizes parents love their children more than they love each other. Thankfully, his love of the concert will keep him close to his fans, too. While I am happy for them becoming parents, I am selfishly optimistic Keith will continue to remind us of his awesome and inspiring gift of music. I personally haven’t been to one of her movies in over 5 years, so can’t comment there.

I love to see the way aussies post. The wording they use is so much different from americans. It is fun. If Nicole never sees her other kids, why is there a pic of her and KU in Australia w Isabella (who, by the way has blue streaks in her hair) and then of Nic and both kids at the Nickolodean Awards and also Nicole and Isabella out shopping. The pics of Tom and Nicole w the kids when they were together, Nicole looks like a loving mother, always carrying one of the kids. There are a few pics of Tom Cruise w the kids but where are they every time he and Katie and Suri are out and about?….no where to be seen. Keith has commented that due to the situation, he does not spend as much time with the kids as some stepfathers, but that they have a good relationship. Alot of parents aren’t celebs that travel for their jobs and they don’t spend time w kids and some parents spend a QUANTITY of time w their kids but not QUALITY time.

Anyway, as a mother of 3 myself, Nicole, honey, do whatever you feel like doing, but don’t lay on the sofa eating bon bons all day.
