Why I Won’t Fall for Clay Walker
Don’t let Clay Walker fool you. He’s not empathetic. He’s just horny.
Back when I first heard the song “Fall,” I thought he’d finally found the one thing that every woman wanted to hear. Then I saw the video -- and completely changed my mind.
To a woman, the lyrics sound like they’re coming from a man who gets it. A guy who understands how selfless a girl’s life can be. Like when he sings “Even though I know you’ve had a bad day, doin’ this and doin’ that, always puttin’ yourself last.” By that, I thought he meant, “Hey baby, you’re so good to everybody else, let me do something for you. Can I get you a latte? Want me to help the kids with homework and you can take a bath? Let me do a grocery run and make dinner.”
Unfortunately, what he meant was, “Can I get in your pants?”
The story in the video comes down to this: Walker making the moves on some unsuspecting woman. He’s stroking her hair, pulling her shirt off her shoulders, kissing her neck. He’s saying he’ll be there for her, and she can fall into his arms, but what he’s doing is trying to turn her vulnerability into getting himself laid. After a long day of what Walker calls “a whole lotta give and not enough take,” I think I can speak for every woman when I say: This is not our fantasy. A man’s, yes. But not ours. Foreplay by a mountain stream is not the answer when you’re overworked and underappreciated.
I’m not saying sex doesn’t sell. A lusty song deserves a lusty video, like Dierks Bentley’s “Come a Little Closer.” He sings about wanting it, then he acts it out. But Walker has tried to disguise taking care of his own needs with a song about taking care of hers. Sex like that doesn’t fix a thing. It’s really just one more thing on our to-do list.

For one if you knew anything about the industry, the video’s are not written by him he is under contract like everyone else, he does as his boss’s are to. I take it you have never been to one of his concerts, it doesn’t matter how big or small you are He always makes you feel special. Untill you do your research and know exactly who he is, I’d suggest you keep you’re bad oppinion to yourself. Foranother thing if you saw him on the street I’m sure you would fall at his feet………

Damsgirl’s points don’t in any way respond to what Alison Bonaguro wrote. So even if everything damsgirl says is true, none of that weakens Alison’s point.
Anyway, I agree with the blog: the video shows Clay trying to satisfy his needs by sympathizing with the woman. The sympathy might be false. But Clay Walker isn’t the only one guilty of this; a lot of men pull this stunt and a lot of women either fall for it or realize that its all an act but go along with it anyway. I wonder how many women are knowingly going along with it and how many are actually fooled by it.

Are you smoking something? I just had to watch this video again after seeing your comments. First of all, the woman in the video is wearing a Wedding ring! There is scarcely anything sexual about it!! So he’s lovingly enouraging his wife to “fall” on him. Where do you see he’s being “horny”? Can I have your job? Do you really get paid for your so called opinion? There was nothing I saw about getting into anybody’s pants and I think you should actually watch a video before commenting on it! Whoever wrote that comment about Clay Walker needs to get over thirself. That song doesn’t have to be to a woman who he is in love with that song could be to anyone who means alot to him I like his song Fall as a matter of fact i dedicated that to a woman I call my Ma because of all of things she has done for me and everything she does for everyone else everyday. The reason I dedicated that song to her was because I was trying to tellher to take a minute and just sit and relax and that it is ok for her to lose it every once in a while. i didn’t mean anything anything sexual when I dedicated it to her, she’s my MA for christ’s sake!!!! If anyone else has a problem with his song then you should get over yourself because he is under contract, he does what his boss tells him to do just like the rest of us!!!!

I am so disgusted by the comment left about Clay Walker’s Fall Video. I just watched the video again just to make me smile not to think about sex. Even though I am a huge fan of his and have met him personally….the video is about falling into someone’s arms and letting go and knowing that the other person is there for you no matter what and if intimacy happens then it happens. Personally, Clay Walker could sing that song to any girl any day and they would want to hear it over and over. He is a romantic if you did any of your research.

I am reading this and LAUGHING! Obviously, not only do you not know Clay Walker, or what he is about, or the type of person he is, but you also have NO IDEA, of anything about the music industry! His label, and many managers, are the ones who tell Clay where, what and how to breath, just as most REAL people have bosses that do the same. If yours doesn’t, lucky you! I WANT YOUR JOB!!
Clay may have a little say in some of it, but VERY LITTLE! That song and video, are every womens dream of how she wants her man to be there to catch her, when she “FALLS” apart! His wife Jessica, in the video, was a perfect example of a beautiful girl inside and out, that did just that in their “REAL” life romance.
As one person said here, it can even be aimed from a son to a mother! Hopefully that isn’t sexual to you!
So tear away, with your nasty comments, and get a life. Maybe a little REAL LIFE romance of your own, would help you get over yourself!
Clay has one, and from everything I have seen, is very happy!! Too bad you have to be so misserable!
