Blake Shelton’s Inside Scoop on Clash of the Choirs
Blake Shelton will assemble a 20-person choir in Oklahoma City for a new NBC series, Clash of the Choirs, which will air Dec. 17-20. Shelton’s choir will compete against other celebrities’ hometown choirs for a chance at winning a charitable prize to improve their community. Viewers can vote for their favorite choir following performances in New York City, with the winners announced on the final show. Other participating celebrities include Michael Bolton, Patti LaBelle, Nick Lachey and Kelly Rowland.

Blake’s choir made me stand up and cheer last night. They were robbed though because the magnificent rendition of the two Joy to the World songs were not properly miked. At all. I just could get a sense of the intricacies of the arrangement - barely audible - and it wasn’t the choirs fault. They simply are the best. Whatever happens tonight, OK, you won. You blew this Minnesotan up and on to her feet. And for the first and only times in this odd contest, I voted and voted and voted.
