Trick My Truck: USS LaGrange

Posted: September 6th, 2007 at 5:35 pm  |  By: Ryno

USS LaGrange

USS LaGrange is one of my all time favorites because the whole truck is a mural...even over the roof of the cab and sleeper!!! Taking a flat surface and making it look 3-D, like the sub was coming out towards you was a challenge, but that's what I like. So this truck got to show off some of my skills!!!The hardest thing about all these trucks is getting them done on time. This would've taken in the real world about 2 to 3 weeks and I got it done in a little over 7 days!!!

The submarine theme worked great, because it really tied the driver's life to the truck and we could tell he really liked it!!! He was doing the jiggy dance the whole time in the reveal....very entertaining!!!! LOL! I never realize how we impact a driver's life till the whole thing comes together at the end!!! It all makes sense after all the hard work is done and we see the reactions from the drivers. Just makes my job that much kewler!!!

I thought this was a great job. I especailly liked the lighted acrylic background in the sleeper. That is so cool. I was wondering where you got the LED lights to light it up? Could you give me a supplier, I would like to try and make a sign for our country music band. Thanks

My son has an old 1979 Suburban that he has been working on for last few months. He plans to go to North Carolina to try to find his 6 year old son that he hasn’t seen him in about 3 years and hasn’t been the same since he last saw him. The truck is in bad condition except for the motor. He has been working the last month to save enough to put a doghouse on it but it needs some other things too. He finally got the doghouse and seems to need everything else to get it going. He is doing all the work himself including the welding. None of the fenders match the hood but he says it’s a good truck and will get him there when he’s done. The last time he went, over a year ago, he slept in an old car for about 6 weeks while he searched for his son, somewhere near Ashville.

I don’t know how long he will stay this time but when he does he will be living in the truck with his dog, which is part coyote.

My son’s name is Austin, 30 years old and just hasn’t been the same since his son’s mother took him and moved from here (Louisville Ky)to NC.

He’s a good kid, earned a scholarship to Duke University when he was 12 but never wanted to go. Now he wants to go but can’t afford it. He applied to Florida Tech but couldn’t get the loan.

Austin keeps the truck about 10 miles out in the country where he is staying in an old camper about 12 feet long and has to cook outside. He works when he can with the guy that has the farm. He comes from a good family and I hate to admit it but he can’t park the truck in my driveway without the neighbors complaining. He was riding a motorcycle until a car hit him so now he rides a moped out to the truck. His dog, a big black one, rides in a large milk crate on the back. His dog Flash is well trained and goes everywhere with him. Sometimes people take pictures of them. Maybe the wreck on the motorcycle, an old Harley, didn’t help. He just can’t seem to focus on anything but going to Nc.

Sorry, I got carried away with this. Austin doesn’t have anyone but me and I can’t really afford to help him as much as he needs.

I would love to see him get a break with anything in life since all he does in work on that truck even long after dark and in sometimes freezing weather. He thinks he has the best truck money can buy and has had it for awhile. He loves it.

If you want to know more my number is 502-452-6000. Thanks for reading this.

What I like about your show compared to the other reality build shows is that there is no yelling, swearing, tool throwing, etc. You have a great down to earth show that other networks should follow. Hooray for CMT… I was a sub sailor too and the LaGrange was out of this world. Keep up the good work.

Hello… please trick my truck!! My name is Cindy, I have a 1994 Peterbilt triaxle dump, and it needs help! Seriously, I have been driving trucks in upstate New York for ever, and the one thing I would love is a nice looking truck. (Theme: Disneyworld.) One thing you should know, I do not look like a truckdriver. Not one bit. Bringing a dump truck on your show with a hot looking, intelligent driver would be quite the episode… don’t you think?…

Hi my name is Robert Weeks, And I know a guy that has a 1989 Ford Ranger 2.9 2 door extended cab. He works as carpenter but the only problem there is it is that he has no room for his tools and supplies. And he also needs room to bring his 14 year old nephew to his appointments. The leaf springs on it are rusted and the motor is ticking and the oil pressure gauge is bouncing. And he Doesn’t haven the money to fix it up. So it would be really cool if you guys could help him out and trick his truck because he would do anything for anybody and without that being fixed he would not want to take his nephew any where because it is not a safe ride. So please trick his truck. I know you guys can do it. I hope to hear from you.

I’m writing you for my girl friend father he’s a truck driver trying to manage his own trucking company he hauls agricultural products: feed, corn, cotton, and ect… he has two trucks but he can’t run the both of them now due to the weather and the business. They are both Peterbilts and one is a 2000 model and the other one is a 2001 model. He works as hard has his truck will let him, but with the trucks keep breaking its hard to get any rest cause the time the trucks in the shops he has to make up. This is dragging him down and affects the family because when he home he is really tired. He can’t make a run without something braking from holes in brake lines to no power steering and in this cold weather his 2001 model is so hard to start in the 40 degree weather it as to be eathiered to start or the block heater plugged in and with the rain and mud he can’t bring it home and plug it in cuss it’s too muddy so it really hard to get started out at the truck stop which he has to park it. The cold weather is bad on this truck due the wind gets in the cab and makes it really cold and can’t even be comfortable in the cab of the truck. The 2000 model truck which is truck the power divider is broken and with the rain snow that truck is near to impossible to use cause of inability to lock both rear axles together and the truck is a shorter wheel base. Truck that makes the ride rough and the front end where’s the tires out very fast and the interior is old and raggedy looking and minor front end damage from last corn season. Then the family vehicles are neglected due to the work trucks they all need tuned up but the big rigs problems keep all the attention.

I’m writing for my brother. He is a very hard working truck diver that owns a 1993 black kenworth. He loves his truck alot that he named it Blacky ,like I said its a 1993 and every time he gets home he is so tired because the seat are so worn out. Their are so many things worng with his truck for example his passager window dosent open, ac dosen’t work and on the hot Texas day he is constenly sweatingso doesnt rest at night so he’s always tired. The mirrors are held with foam and duck tape the reason its like that is because they use to wiggle like bobber heads. This month of Feb. he was bring a load form Rio Grande City, TX there was a traffic acident on the HWY pass Big Spring,TX there a rear axel tire rim on the road and didnt have time to go around it so he acidently went over it with his front right tire and damge his right diesel tank and lost all his fuel. Now he is with only one tank and have to refuel more than his other coworker so he loses loads so that means lesser money. Instead of buying a newer model truck to replace the old one he saw that i was in need of a job. So he got a loan out under his name to buy me a 2001 freightliner truck so could support my family,he also lease the truck under his name because i couldn’t afford to pay for the permits. So now do to the loan he got out for my truck he’s unable to repair his truck. To show my apperation I would really like you to help him trick his truck. If your able trick my truck to. Ha! Ha! My family and i love the show.

    THANK YOU Gomez Family

Hi, I would just like to say me and my family love to watch this show. I’m not even for sure if this is how you nominate someone for trick my truck, but it is worth the try :).

Okay so my dad, works for his dad in a dumptrucking business he has been around trucking all of his life, because that is how his dad has worked all of his life. My dad has three daughters ages 14, 12, and 4 and is continuosly taking care of us instead of working on his truck. My mom has had some health problems recently so the condition of my dads truck has gone down. My dad is so wonderful and nice and I would like to nominate him for this.

This would be such a blessing for us to have his truck tricked.

    Thank you :)

    Hello!

Love your show. Makes me think of my husband. Well, he really loves your show.. He is hardworking, honest and a loyal man. Always puts his family first. Sole supporter of 4. We own a hauling and roofing company. Four J’s Hauling and Construcion. My husband and daughter Jaimie run the trucks. I call them Batman and Robin! Jerry has older rigs. They all have names and are very well taken care of despite their age. They are all his favorites. Whitey is his roll-off container dumptruck. He always jokes that it would be cool if it was tricked. Well, wouldn’t it! Sometimes, it’s the good guys that keep their chins up despite the downs, that deserve the smile. Good day to all! Thanks for a fun show! -Jodi

Hello! I would absolutely love to nominate my husband for ‘Trick My Truck’. He used to own a 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 with all the bells and whistles… until we had a wonderful surprise that we were expecting. Once we had our son he has sacrificed a lot to make sure our son and I are safe. He traded in his truck so that I could have a new SUV with 4 wheel drive (we live in the Midwest). He now drives a 1985 Chevy Silverado that is basically a shell on wheels and has a mind of its own and decides when it wants to run (also found out with our 1st snow fall this year his 4 wheel drive doesn’t work). Please keep in mind that the neighbors of our small town has to suffer as well because not only is it hideous looking with the multi colored body, he leaves for work at 6am and his truck wakes up everyone (including our son) when he leaves. He has done so much for us to make sure he provides for our family and I would love to repay him in some remarkable way, and this is above and beyond of what I know he could imagine!
Please take my request in consideration and I would be the happiest wife ever!
    Thanks a Bunch!
