First Things First

Welcome to our new blog site on CMT.com. We have gathered an exceptional stable of journalists and musicians to give you a panoramic view of country music. You can expect behind-the-scenes blogs from the Wreckers as they tour with Keith Urban. The new band Halfway to Hazard will also keep you up-to-date about their slot on the Soul2Soul 2007 tour with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. A rising star in Texas, Sunny Sweeney will write about the club scene in her home state, with a few sassy insights thrown in. Bluegrass and acoustic fans will want to keep tabs on Eamon McLoughlin, the fiddle player in the Greencards, as the band van travels from coast to coast, hitting a bunch of cool festivals along the way.

Of course, we’ll blog a lot about the current country scene – like new videos, big tours, favorite songs and popular albums. We’ll also give you our own perspective on the latest headlines in country music. Sometimes we’ll go back in history to introduce new country fans to the classics. Since many of the bloggers live in Nashville, we’ll also reveal our top spots in Music City. Let us know what you think. We encourage readers to add their comments below.

I seen American Soldier on tv tonight the 4th of July.
    I cried.
It reminded me of all the friends that were lost in Nam.
It wasn’t even called a war.
I recall the song that said, ” I ain’t no senators son”.
If there was one it would have probably ended sooner, or never happened.
I see these young brave men today, and they are still my brothers. I am old enough to be their father, but they are still my brother.
    They have all my respect.
At my age (63) they wouldn’t let me go over there. But I would love to go and take someone with a familys place.
I can’t run any longer,( thats good ) but I can still shoot. Just drop me off with lots of rounds.
“God Bless America”, someone has to. Our reps sure don’t.

Okay is it just me or is everyone on Taylor Swifts ban wagon tone deaf or just like hearing the same notes, tone, and melody sounds the same. Where the range , different melodies, most of all where is the talent. I will grant you she has the look but as of yet I do not see what all the rave is about . On a talent scale of one to ten maybe a 5!!!!!!!!!!!!
